Xiao Chen returned to Bamboo Sword Villa with a restless heart, worried that he had made a big mistake by meeting Jiang Kun today.

"Every action of mine can change history, if I'm not careful then the future that happens will be very different from the one I've experienced before…" Xiao Chen thought hard as he looked at the three Water Ginsengs in front of him.

One of the reasons Xiao Chen had reduced contact with the other people from the Valley of the Hundred Swords over the past year was that he didn't want to change things too much to the point where things didn't go according to his memories. For Xiao Chen the safest way was to make himself stronger as fast as he could.

If Xiao Chen had high martial arts abilities then whatever happened in the future would not be a problem for him. Now he's worried that his desire to monopolize Water Ginseng is hampered by his meeting with Jiang Kun.

"There's no point in me thinking about all that now, I'd better give this Water Ginseng a try." Feeling unable to find a solution in the near future, Xiao Chen chose to cook the smallest and youngest ginseng among the three he managed to harvest.

These three ginsengs were over ten years old, if Xiao Chen consumed them directly then his body might not be able to receive all of these nutrients so he decided to cook the Water Ginseng by boiling it.

The efficacy of Water Ginseng cooked in this way was reduced by three to forty percent, it was a pity but Xiao Chen had no other choice. Xiao Chen consumed the ginseng in one gulp, before sitting cross-legged and beginning to practice according to the Heavenly Dragon God's Scripture.

Not long after he swallowed the Water Ginseng, Xiao Chen's stomach went cold while his head felt hot. Xiao Chen's face turned red and there was a bit of white smoke coming out of his head. The process lasted for several hours and Xiao Chen had to be alert every second.

When all of the Water Ginseng's nutrients were absorbed, Xiao Chen let out a cold breath from his mouth.

Xiao Chen got up from his seat and made a few movements, he then chuckled in admiration after feeling the change in his body, "To think that Water Ginseng has this kind of efficacy, no wonder so many wanted Jade Grass River in my previous life…"

It was true that the quality of Xiao Chen's bones were still Yellow Wolf Bones but his physical strength had increased quite a lot as well as the muscles of his body had become more vigorous, which definitely wasn't something that could be achieved with an average month or two of training.

Xiao Chen then pondered, after tasting the efficacy of this Water Ginseng he was even more certain that he would need the plant to change his fate in this life.

"There is no other choice, I will find a way to manage the Sect Leader…" Xiao Chen scratched his head.

Xiao Chen then made preparations before leaving the Valley of the Hundred Swords again via the secret passage he had made.

This time Xiao Chen's journey was slightly shorter than before, after consuming the Water Ginseng, his stamina and running speed increased. Just as before Xiao Chen had made a bonfire, only then did he enter the Jade Grass River.

A while later Xiao Chen came out of the river with two Water Ginsengs in his hands while his body was so cold.

"Even though my physical strength has increased, my tolerance for cold hasn't changed…" Xiao Chen muttered while shivering violently.

Xiao Chen stored the two ginsengs he managed to get before starting to warm himself in front of the bonfire.

"You showed up early today…"

Not long after Xiao Chen put his clothes back on, Jiang Kun appeared in front of him looking astonished. Obviously Jiang Kun was wondering what exactly Xiao Chen was doing on the banks of the Jade Grass River.

Xiao Chen only smiled awkwardly and then saluted him, Jiang Kun then led Xiao Chen to the stone table that the two of them had come to play chess yesterday.

This time the table was not empty but another elder was sitting on one of the stone chairs. Xiao Chen recognized the clothes the old man was wearing as robes from the Jade Furnace House, a sect that concentrated on training in medicine.

"I thought you wouldn't come today either…" Jiang Kun smiled faintly at the old man.

"Brother Jiang, last night I suddenly had an important guest so I couldn't keep our appointment." The grandfather gave an explanation but did not look guilty.

Grandfather's attention then turned to Xiao Chen who was standing beside Jiang Kun, "Who did you bring this? Don't tell me this is your descendant, you two have absolutely nothing in common."

"Old Fart Huang, today it seems I have to teach you a lesson…" Jiang Kun rolled up his sleeves, he naturally understood what those words meant.

"What lesson do you mean? I think I still won two rounds from you so far." Grandpa said with a chuckle.

Xiao Chen tried not to show any expression, but he could guess the identity of the Grandpa in front of him. There was only one person from the Jade Furnace Mansion who could act this way towards Jiang Kun, and that was the Jade Furnace House's Sect Leader, Huang Dan.

"Chen'er, it seems I have to postpone the game with you, watch us play first…" Jiang Kun whispered to Xiao Chen.

Xiao Chen couldn't help but obey, he watched the two elders begin to compete in chess skills. Xiao Chen was watching the match from the side of the table.

Jiang Kun and Huang Dan's playing ability could be said to be evenly matched, defeat could result from a single misstep and in this round, it was Jiang Kun who made the mistake.

"After three years I'm finally back three wins." Huang Dan laughed heartily without caring about Jiang Kun's body shaking violently.

Jiang Kun immediately regained his composure within a few breaths, "Today my state of mind is not good due to the sect's numerous matters therefore you were lucky enough to win over me."

"Old fart Jiang, what nonsense are you saying? Every time you lose, you always have the same excuse." Huang Dan chuckled.

Jiang Kun snorted in annoyance as he realized Huang Dan was going all out to make fun of him, "This time it's really true, with your game so bad today even Chen'er could beat you." Jiang Kun patted Xiao Chen on the shoulder, making him startled.

Huang Dan raised his eyebrows, he felt that Jiang Kun had lost his mind because he lost to him. According to Huang Dan, it was impossible for Xiao Chen to beat him in a game of chess.

"Old Fart it seems that your defeat this time is indeed related to your troubled mind…" Huang Dan tried to sound serious as he said that but it was obvious that he was holding back a laugh.

"Oh, Old fart Huang if you are so confident how about we make a bet?" Jiang Kun's smile widened rapidly.
