White Eagle Sword

Xiao Chen withdrew the short sword from its scabbard, he could feel the sharpness of the blade far above that of ordinary swords. Other than that this sword looks brand new.

"This Short Sword is a named weapon known as the White Eagle Sword. Even though it can't be called an heirloom, its sharpness is close to that of an heirloom sword." Fei Ying explained to Xiao Chen, "I used this sword when I was young, I think it is better in your hands."

"Thank you Elder, I will take good care of this sword." Xiao Chen showed his gratitude.

In his previous life Xiao Chen was nicknamed Holy Swordsman, he attained such high mastery in swordsmanship that Xiao Chen could judge the quality of a sword at a glance. What interested Xiao Chen most was that even though it was not an heirloom, this White Eagle Sword was capable of carrying quite a large amount of internal energy.

Not all weapons can be powered by internal energy because the material used is not strong enough. If you force it, the weapon that is powered by internal energy will be destroyed unless someone is very skilled at using internal energy.

If one practices internal energy to a very high level and is able to control it well, one can even turn a leaf or a hair into a deadly weapon by imbuing a large amount of internal energy with it.

"It is good that you are satisfied with this gift of mine…" Fei Ying laughed heartily.

Liu Cheng smiled awkwardly, he didn't understand why Fei Ying would give his personal belongings to Xiao Chen even though it was the Liu family who were indebted to Fang An and Xiao Chen. It's just that because Fei Ying's position is so high in the Liu family, Liu Cheng has nothing to say.

Liu Cheng gave Fang An more gold coins, Fang An didn't count them but knew there were at least a thousand gold pieces in them.

"This amount of money will not be enough to repay the Liu family's favor to Elder Fang, one day the Liu family will assist Elder Fang when needed." Liu Cheng still felt that the gift he gave was too little, Xiao Chen smiled faintly when he heard that while Fang An said there was no debt between the Liu family and him.

Xiao Chen knew that Liu Cheng was not being generous here, but Liu Cheng felt that his life was far more valuable than even a thousand or ten thousand gold pieces. The debt of life can only be repaid with another life. Indeed this was a trait of those from a noble family so Xiao Chen was not too surprised.

The next morning Fang An and Xiao Chen said goodbye, Liu Cheng still tried to hold the two of them a little longer but Fang An explained he had an important task in the Capital. Hearing that Fei Ying asked the two to leave and asked Liu Cheng not to try to restrain the two anymore.

When Fang An and Xiao Chen were out of the city, Fang An said they should move faster because they had delayed their trip for a while. The two of them ran fast using the art of lightening the body, the speed of the two of them was not inferior to riding a galloping horse.

The two continued on towards the Han Imperial Capital.

Several days had passed since Fang An and Xiao Chen parted ways with Liu Cheng. The two of them passed several towns and villages but did not stop because they continued to move at high speed.

Fang An could see that during the past few days Xiao Chen's lightening skill had been improving again, besides that his apprentice's stamina seemed to exceed his own.

The two would run from sunrise to sunset and only stop for a quick meal. At night, Xiao Chen would consume Water Ginseng and train hard. Xiao Chen even consumed two to three ginseng every day.

Xiao Chen realizes that his way of practicing risks injuring himself but after the experience with Liu Cheng, he feels that he is not strong enough to help Fang An. If Fei Ying had not appeared and helped them, Fang An would not have been fine as he was now.

"I have to get stronger as soon as possible!" That was how Xiao Chen determined that every time he started his practice, he wanted to quickly upgrade his bones to Iron Tiger Bone before he was 10 years old.

Fang An could feel the speed at which Xiao Chen's strength was growing and he couldn't help but be stunned. Fang An only reminded Xiao Chen not to forget to practice his martial arts and not just increase his physical strength.

"There's no rush, you're still so young. As long as you practice well, you will become a great swordsman in the future." Fang An ordered.

Xiao Chen understood, Fang An was worried that he would be like the old Fang An. Because Fang An wanted to become strong as soon as possible, he was injured by someone and received serious internal injuries which affected his future as a warrior.

It was just that Fang An didn't know that the reason Xiao Chen was trying to become strong as fast as possible also had to do with him. Xiao Chen needed a high degree of skill if he wanted to treat Fang An to a full recovery.

"Master is glad that you are training so hard but warriors must remember that the body also needs rest…" Fang An was obviously worried, during his run every morning until sunset, Xiao Chen often ran while reading a book.

Fang An only then found out that it was one of Xiao Chen's belongings which made the size of his provisions much larger because there were books in it. Indeed Xiao Chen felt that just running would waste time so he did it while reading books on medicine.

In his new life, Xiao Chen was indeed interested in many new knowledges that he had never learned in his previous life. Among all of them, Xiao Chen was most interested in medicine. You could say that there was also influence from his desire to treat Fang An.

One afternoon on their way, Xiao Chen could see a large river in front of them. The previous day Fang An had indeed said the two of them had to cross several rivers on their way to the Capital.

"We will go to that small village, there will be residents who rent boats to cross the river." Fang An pointed to a small village that the two could see from where they were standing.

On the other hand, Xiao Chen frowned, "Master, don't you feel something wrong?"

Fang An was slightly surprised by Xiao Chen's question but when he looked at the river in front of them once again, Fang An caught Xiao Chen's point.

"Strange, there should be a lot of boats cruising the river..." Fang An muttered under his breath.
