The Five Color Flag

Fang An only returned to his room at night. Xiao Chen, who had finished formulating his plans, chose to practice Dragon King Aura again after checking that his body had not changed because it had the aura of a dragon.

Xiao Chen managed to transform a portion of his killing aura into a dragon aura. When Fang An entered the room and looked at Xiao Chen, he felt something was different about his disciple but he couldn't explain what he was feeling.

"Master, have you met the Crown Prince?" Xiao Chen asked enthusiastically, he really wanted to know as much of the situation as possible as it might be useful in his plans with the Silver Moon Association.

Fang An took a deep breath, he sat down then told him what he knew. Fang An did go to the main hall and found Yin Song there but the two did not speak, Yin Song's mind seemed to be filled with something.

Mu Rong fell ill after learning that her two sons were killed while Yin Xuehua was nowhere to be seen like her mother but Fang An heard that the little girl was also devastated like Mu Rong.

When Yin Song seemed to calm down, he call the eunuch who was his right hand man along with some of his closest people to go see the Emperor of Han.

Xiao Chen couldn't help frowning when he saw that the Han Emperor did not seem to care about the deaths of his two grandsons. There was no sign of the Han Emperor coming to the Crown Prince's residence until nightfall, so Yin Song chose to go see him to give news and ask for an explanation.

Fang An explained that when he first entered the hall, he could feel Yin Song's eyes filled with deep sorrow but when he left the residence to meet Emperor Han, Yin Song's eyes were filled with anger and disappointment.

"Chen'er, you must be hungry. Master brought some bread." Fang An took out some warm meat buns.

Xiao Chen actually had no appetite after hearing Fang An's story but he didn't want to make his teacher worry even more.

"The future that is about to happen seems so much different from what I know. If the Crown Prince Song makes a mistake here, it's not impossible for the Han Emperor to change his mind…" Xiao Chen thought worriedly.

Xiao Chen had absolutely no idea about the Han Emperor, he had not heard much about this generation of Han Emperors in his previous life. This generation of Han Emperors died before the Chaos Era began because of an illness.

Xiao Chen's thoughts were shattered when someone knocked on Fang An's door.

"An'er, I have something to talk to you about." The voice coming from behind the door sounded old.

Fang An immediately got up and opened the door, there was only one person in the entire Hundred Swords Valley who called him that, his Sect Master, Jiang Kun.

"Sect Master, You are back." Fang An paid his respects.

Xiao Chen got up and also paid his respects. It had been several years since he had last seen Jiang Kun, and there were more wrinkles on the elder's face than before. Xiao Chen could see that the situation Jiang Kun had been in these past few years was weighing him down.

"Chen'er, you've grown really well. I barely recognized you." Jiang Kun stroked Xiao Chen's head while laughing softly.

Xiao Chen could feel Jiang Kun internally running into him as he rubbed his head. Jiang Kun did that for the sake of checking the quality of Xiao Chen's bones.

Jiang Kun's eyes widened when he realized that Xiao Chen had such good bone quality and high talent in martial arts.

"Even though I've heard from An'er that the quality of your bones can improve, to think it would improve to this extent compared to a few years ago." Jiang Kun had already checked Xiao Chen's bone quality and talent when the two met at the Jade Grass River, obviously he was shocked by the vast difference from before.

Jiang Kun looked at Fang An and patted him on the shoulder, "Good work on bringing a genius to the Valley of the Hundred Swords, when Chen'er comes back, Chen'er will obtain first-rate resources besides that he can learn all the knowledge that resides in the sect freely. An'er, you found a worthy heir for yourself and apparently for me too."

Fang An nodded enthusiastically, he already felt that Xiao Chen had high talent and if cultivated properly, it was not impossible that Xiao Chen would become the Sect Master of the Valley of the Hundred Swords in the future. Fang An was pleased that Jiang Kun had the same opinion.

Xiao Chen could only smile awkwardly, he had absolutely no intention of becoming the Sect Master but he was unwilling to spar with the two over something that was still far in the future. Now what they all need to pay attention to is the problem that is happening in Luoyang.

"Sect Master, do you already know about the calamity that befell the Crown Prince's family?" Fang An felt that Jiang Kun had come looking for him right after returning from his meeting with the Han Emperor so he probably didn't know about it yet.

"Of course, Your Majesty called me to his residence because Your Majesty already knows about this matter." Jiang Kun sighed.

Emperor Han actually called Jiang Kun and sent a letter to Sect Master Feng so that the two of them would not interfere in the matter of his missing grandson.

"Your Highness knows that his two grandsons have been killed but does not come to mourn?" Fang An felt uneasy but tried to hide it.

"Aih, An'er, you can't blame Your Highness. The situation is very… unusual." Jiang Kun sighed again.

Fang An frowned under his mask, he didn't understand Jiang Kun's meaning.

"You must have heard about two of the four sects that originally helped the Crown Prince have resigned, right? Do you know the reason behind this action? If it wasn't for my relationship with Your Majesty in the past, I too would have chosen to withdraw from the matter of usurping the throne. Indeed this matter has grown to a stage beyond our ability to interfere." Jiang Kun shook his head before sighing for the umpteenth time.

Fang An had never seen Jiang Kun like this, usually no matter what troubles his Sect Master was facing he always remained calm. The great name of the King of the Hundred Swords was not just a display because there really weren't many people in the martial world who could make Jiang Kun feel daunted.

"Sect Master, exactly what happened? Can you tell me?" asked Fang An.

"There's nothing to hide because sooner or later you will find out, considering the Crown Prince must have asked you to get involved." Jiang Kun smiled faintly, "An'er, you must have heard of the name The Five Color Flag right?"
