*Ring*
The sound of the bell went indicating the end of lectures for the day. Every student in class 1-D rushed to the training center to witness the battle between these students from very high ranking families.
"I can't wait to pound that punk." Ryan said while walking with his roommates.
"I hope he beats you." Alexis said.
"Beat me? You must be joking. There is no first year student who can match me in battle even you my friend." Ryan boasted.
Adrian remained silent, listening to his friends debate as they walked to the training center.
"Hey princess, who do you think would win?" Ryan asked, trying to involve Adrian in his and Alexis's debate.
"I can't say." Adrian replied.
"Well, it doesn't matter. I'll prove to you guys that I am number one." He bragged.

The auditorium (spectators section) was filled with every student of Class 1-D, Even the principal and other members of the council excluding the homeroom teachers of the other rival first year class; were all present at the training center to witness this Clash of the Titans.
Due to a certain rule agreed upon by all members of the school council, the students and teachers of rival first year classes were not permitted to view the opposing class's training sessions. This was done to make sure each class is oblivious of the abilities of a rival class whom they were to compete against.
Most of the teachers usually selected those they felt were strong enough to represent their class; but, the system of allocating ranked numbers to students and letting them fight for their position was Mr Leo's way of granting every student in his class an opportunity to fight for a spot.
"Woah!!" Adrian exclaimed on entering the training center.
"Even the members of the school's council are here." He added.
"Well, I hope you don't get humiliated before this crowd, Mr all powerful." Alexis mocked before heading towards the spectators section.
"Knock yourself out." Adrian added before running of to meet Alexis.
Adrian and Alexis sat hurriedly in anticipation of the battle.
"Hey!!" Xi waved at both boys who were coincidentally seating a few seats away from her.
"Excuse me, can we trade seats." She said to the student seating next to Adrian.
"Sure." The student replied.
'What does this girl want now? There are approximately five thousand seats in this auditorium, why would she want to seat here?' Adrian thought to himself.
"Hey Adrian." She repeated as she took the seat beside him.
"Hey Xi." He casually replied.
Alexis simply ignored whatever discussion those two were having, not wanting to get involved in the slightest manner. Although he said he wished Ryan lost, in actuality he wanted him to beat Storm for looking down on Adrian.
"You friend is cute." Xi whispered to Adrian.
"Hey Alexis, this lady says your cute." Adrian bluntly said.
Alexis unconsciously blushed, smiling in a very awkward manner.
Adrian was very surprised to see Alexis's reaction, his once composed, intelligent and coordinated friend was smiling like some love struck creep.
Alexis was quite nervous, this was the first time a lady actually complemented him on his looks, he didn't know how to react to such a situation. He usual had a contingency plan for every situation but he didn't have any for such scenarios. The best he could do was to smile and he wasn't doing a very good job smiling either.
Xi on the other bowed her head in embarrassment, she never expected Adrian to be so blunt. She hoped Alexis's wouldn't see her as some creepy maniac after the stunt Adrian pulled of.
"Hi, I am Alexis." He said, stretching his sweaty and shaky hand across Adrian for a hand shake.
"Hi, am Xi Hu." She replied stretching her arms to receive the hand shake.
"O-o-okay, I need to use the bathroom." Adrian lied in order to escape the tension between these love birds. He left his seat to sit elsewhere.
"Good day everyone." Mr Leo greeted, attracting everyone's attention to the fighting platform where he and both boys stood.
"As you all know, the battle you are about to witness is between the students ranked number 1 and number 2 respectively, Jackson Storm and Ryan Posiedon. There are three rules which both fighters most observe.
One, I would instantly put an end to the battle if I feel anyone's life is at risk.
Two, you are not permitted to kill your opponent or use any life threatening attack.
Finally, you can only be declared the winner when your opponent is knocked out or subdued." He continued.
"Are the rules clear enough?"
"Yes sir." both boys replied in unison.
"You may begin." Mr Leo said, stepping out of the platform.
[Lightning Cloak]
Storm shrouded himself in blue sparking lightning, boosting his speed to insane levels.
*Boom*
Storm kicked up the dust as he dashed around the platform randomly, making it difficult for Ryan to pin point his location.
*Bang*
*Bang*
Ryan kept receiving blows from his fast moving opponent without replying any. He knew he had to find a way to deal with Storm's speed or else he would remain at the receiving end of the one sided barrage of attacks.
[Lightning fist]
A large surge of lightning shrouded Storm's fist, as he planned to finish of Ryan with this move.
*Bang*
The fist connected with Ryan's chest, creating a massive shockwave of lightning shattering the platform to pieces.
Alexis couldn't believe what he had just witnessed, the battle had barely lasted two minutes and now it all seemed over with Storm triumphing. It made him realize the need to improve his own strength in order to deal with such styles of fighting.
Once the dust cleared up, the audience was stunned to see Ryan standing tall, though with blood trickling from his mouth and Storm's fist still on his chest.
"Is that it? Do you think you have what it takes to finish me with such demeaning tricks? You must be joking."Ryan laughed manically with a blooded mouth.
"Let me show you true violence." Ryan said, as he grabbed the arm Storm hit him with.
