Guided by the pull of the rope that was holding them together, the three descended quickly due to Midas scattering the sand quickly. The longer they descended, the more they could feel the intensity of what was happening around them.
The heat was a major problem, but they did not feel it much at all. Instead, what they felt was the growing pressure of the sand that was pushing down from above and around them and the lack of vision.
Even more difficult to deal with was the lack of breathable air. Midas had told the two people to hold their breaths as long as they possibly could, but in the case, they ran out of breath, they could always expand their Kinetic Domains' reach and take out some breathing apparatus.
Expanding the Kinetic Domain was possible, but the energy consumption would increase as a factor of the ratio of expansion.
