Watching the skin on his arms and feet change according to his will, Midas smiled in happiness.

He had always wanted tattoos but he never could afford them. Even after getting the ability to literally change his skin, he still felt it was not enough to just engrave them into his code. That was too permanent.

He wanted to have the ability to change them at any moment in time. That was because he had a theory about them and it went something along these lines: Tattoos were a representation of someone's unconscious and subconscious nature reflected in reality.

Bible of the Self, First Testament of Man, Gospel of Reflections, Chapter 2, verse 1 states: "Pay attention to a man's tattoos, as they show you things even he hides from himself."
