He laughed out loud and long at my expression after he'd said that. I couldn't believe it. My eyes instantly lit up, and it was getting hard for me to sit still. Excitement coursed through my veins and made me anxiously wish that we were home already. I knew he said it to get my mind off the banquet, to set my mind free from worrying, and it worked. I was grateful, and throughout the entire ride back home it was all I could think about.


Once we got home, Abel kept his left arm secured around my waist as he dismissed Lauren and Marco for the night even though it was still six thirty. He then led the way, into the living room to grab a bottle of red wine, before taking me upstairs to his bedroom.
