chapter fifteen home sick

she entered her room and laid on the bed gazing at the ceiling, her thoughts began to wonder as she thought about her home and her packmates, she could help but feel a stinging sensation in her chest and tears welled up in her eyes.

As homesickness weighed heavy on Kiara's heart, she found solace within the confines of her room. The memories of her packmates and the wild freedom of the forests echoed within her, a longing she couldn't shake off.looking for a distraction so she could forget her homesick , she remembered the phone she had obtained during her visit to the market.

With a sense of renewed purpose, Kiara reached for the phone and inserted the sim card she had acquired. As the screen flickered to life, a world of possibilities unfolded before her. It was a gateway to the human realm, a means of communication that could bridge the gap between her present and her past.

Her thoughts turned to the paper that David, the young nobleman she had danced with at the party, had slipped into her hand. The paper she had tucked away, forgotten until now. With a surge of curiosity, Kiara began rummaging through her belongings, searching for that forgotten piece of connection.

Finally, she found the crumpled paper, unfolding it carefully. David's elegant handwriting adorned the surface, his contact information inviting her to reach out if she ever needed anything. It was a simple gesture, yet one that held the potential to reunite her with a human connection, a link to the world she yearned for.

Taking a deep breath, Kiara dialed the number, her heart pounding with a mix of nervousness and anticipation. The phone rang, each tone a reminder of the distance she hoped to bridge.

"Hello?" David's voice rang through the speaker, and Kiara's hesitation melted away.

"Hi, David. It's Kiara," she replied, her voice carrying a mix of vulnerability and longing.

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line, and then David's voice filled the silence, laced with surprise and genuine interest. "Kiara! I'm glad you called. How are you?"

I thought you would never called,he said jokingly.

A sense of warmth flooded through Kiara as she heard the genuine care in David's voice. She realized that, despite their brief encounter, a connection had formed—a bond that held the potential for understanding and friendship.

She talked to him more and found her self indulging in the conversation, though she kept up her lie and never told him anything about her true self,it was nice having someone to talk to and she was glad she had met him at that party.

As the call drew to a close, Kiara felt a renewed sense of hope. She understood that while her homesickness might persist, she had taken a step towards building a network of connections that would sustain her on her path of self-discovery.

Putting the phone down, Kiara gazed out the window, a newfound determination kindling within her. The world was vast, and within its intricacies, she would find her place—a delicate balance between her past and her present, her humanity and her wild spirit. And with each connection she fostered, she moved one step closer to embracing her truest self.

she had decided that if she was going to stay in the human realm, she should least experience it since right now she was a human being and had no power if her own.

she looked out the window but couldn't feel any connection with the outside world, they stayed in a rather remote area where less people passed and it was lonely, she left the room and went up to Sefra's room.

She contemplated knocking on the door then she gathered enough courage to knock on the door,it was silent afterwards and she thought he wasn't in.

She opened the door and took a peep inside the room,it was dimly lit and there was no sign of him in the room so she entered the door..,just as she was about to close the door behind her,he walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.

Kiara's steps faltered as she entered Sefra's room, her intent to seek his company momentarily forgotten. Her eyes widened in surprise as she caught sight of Sefra emerging from the bathroom, a towel loosely wrapped around his waist. Heat rushed to her cheeks, and she instinctively averted her gaze.

"I... I'm sorry, Sefra," Kiara stammered, her voice filled with embarrassment. "I didn't realize you were in the midst of getting dressed. I'll come back later."

Sefra's lips curled into a faint smile as he reached for a robe, his demeanor calm and composed. "No need to apologize, Kiara," he replied, his voice carrying a hint of amusement. "I should have been more mindful of your presence. Please, come in."

I'll just come back, you get dressed okay, she said and turned around to leave when he said.

I'll be in the changing room,he said as he took his clothes and went into the changing room.

She then turned and walked and sat down at the edge of the bed.

Kiara sat in Sefra's room, her eyes fixed on a piece of parchment in her hands. It contained a proposal she had meticulously crafted—a plan to relocate to a new neighborhood, one that would provide them with a sense of community and a closer connection to the human realm. She took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before broaching the subject.

she waited for him to come out of the changing room, when he came out he sat down close to her and looked down at her hand.

what's the matter?,he asked.

"Sefra, I've been thinking," Kiara began, her voice steady and resolute. "Our current home is isolated, and it lacks the vibrancy and connection I yearn for. I believe it's time for us to consider relocating to a new neighborhood—a place where we can forge meaningful relationships and become more integrated with the human world."

Sefra listened attentively, his gaze fixed upon Kiara. He had anticipated this discussion, knowing that their current home was secluded and did not offer the sense of community Kiara longed for. Yet, he couldn't help but feel a tinge of apprehension at the thought of moving her to a crowded environment .

"Kiara, I understand your desire for a stronger connection to the human realm," Sefra replied, his voice measured. "But we must also consider the potential risks and challenges that come with such a move. Our current home provides us with a level of security and protection."

But i lost my powers here,to tell you that it isn't safe anywhere, she said and he kindda agreed with her.
