Other Means

"She's pregnant huh..." I paused and glanced at the informant, trying to figure out if this was a joke or some sort of prank. However, he remained unwavered even under the pressure of my eyes. "....Liam is one annoying man."

Things weren't going the way I expected, nothing was going my way. Not only have I lost two consecutive times to that bastard in court, now I was about to lose the main battle too. Right now Liam wasn't even the problem, it was Amelie, she was the real thorn in my flesh. What type of woman goes around sleeping with their ex husband? My predictions were wrong, and Amelie was the single flaw in all of my plans.

After I'd learnt that the company headquarters was moved to London because of her, I made preparations to get her out of the picture, but Liam beat me to it. Not only did he have security secretly following her, he had also threatened to cause me despair should anything happen to Amelie. Not to mention that his annoying assistant was always up in everybody's business. Anna was good, and I wouldn't be surprised if she already figured out my plan before it was put into action.

Grimly I reminded myself that they still needed to get married before Liam could gain full ownership. Knowing that wasn't helpful at all, the two of them could already be married without anybody knowing. Court marriages existed, everything could be done under an hour, and in the next Liam could decide to finally take the business for himself. However, it was unlikely that they were married, if the two of them were married, Liam would have made a move by now.

"Is something bothering you?" Dr Warren asked, "Do you not believe me?"

I glared at him with disgust, who would ever believe a man like him? He might not know it but he was a two-faced, backstabbing bastard who was ready to sell his dignity for a couple of change. In mild rage, I slid the envelope on the table towards him, and he hurriedly picked it up.

"Get out." I ordered and he scurried away like an endangered mouse. Liam made the mistake of involving his friends into this matter. Warren's allegiance has always been with me, all I needed to do was fatten his pocket a little and the doctor would spill anything he knew.

Enough about Warren, dealing with Amelie and her pregnancy should be my first priority right now. One way or another I have to eliminate the baby in her womb, killing her was not an option, and planning an abduction would be next to impossible, not when she had half of Liam's security system tracking her every movement. If I wanted to get close to her then I'd need someone who could get close enough to her.

Picking up the laptop by my side, I began a thorough inspection on Amelie's life before Liam showed up in London. From what I've seen, she worked at Storm which was no now under Woods Industries. And she interacted most with a co-worker named Colin Muller. They seemed really close from the work pictures online, and from the look of things were best friends.

"Colin Muller..." I recited as my fingers stroked the keyboard theatrically. In the next second his profile and information filled the screen and I took my time to study everything about him. Apparently he had two younger siblings, a middle aged mother, and an ex-girlfriend. He did seem like a loyal and trustworthy person, which meant that trying to bribe him into harming Amelie would probably not work. To get people like him to cooperate, I needed to take extreme measures.

"Amelie Lodge..." Her name broke free from my lips as a whisper. She was a lady whose taste I'd never forget. Ever since Liam brought her home and introduced her as his girlfriend nine years ago, I've never been able to rid my thoughts of her image. She was always stuck behind the corner of my mind, and at some point I had lost myself.

I knew it was wrong, what I did back then but I really couldn't be blamed for it. I tried showing her every bit of affection, but she never viewed me in a romantic manner. I could tell just by looking into her eyes that she wanted nobody else but Liam, and it drove me insane. I despised Liam because of his luck, and ever since then never viewed him as a brother, but as a rival.

Things began to look pretty for me after their divorce, but before I could make a move Amelie had disappeared from the surface of the earth. I couldn't track her down no matter how much I tried, and if I hadn't followed Liam to London I might have missed the chance to ever see her again.

I was married now and had a son, but I still wasn't satisfied. Melanie wasn't Amelie, and no matter how much I tried to look past that reality I couldn't get past it. I wasn't abusive or anything to my family, but I definitely did not love them the way I loved Amelie Lodge.

Now that I have found her again I was going to do anything to make her mine. First I would start by robbing Liam of everything he had and making him miserable. And when Liam has finally lost his worth, Amelie would be mine for the taking.

It won't be easy for me to win her over especially after our past, but I knew Amelie was Kind Hearted. If she wasn't, she wouldn't be pregnant with Liam's child right now. I might have sexually harassed her back then, but it was nothing compared to the trouble she had to put up with when she was married to Liam. If anything, Liam should be the villain, and I the acquitted hero.

It didn't matter though, as long as Liam was still in the picture there was no way Amelie could love me back. To get to her I had to remove Liam first, and although I didn't want to kill my only brother, I had other means to get rid of him.
