Splitting The Company

Liam

The very last person I expected to walk into my office this afternoon was Casmir Hardwood, the antithesis of my very existence. Yet that was precisely who had walked in.

Bold as brass, chin up and unwavering like a soldier. He was definitely here to get on my nerves and ruin my afternoon. On his face was a misanthropic smile, one that exuded all the hate he had in his heart for me. He expected me to flare up like I always did, but I focused my attention on the work on my table, getting angry over his mere existence was going to do me no good.

"What do you want?" I asked in my casual office voice, my eyes yet to leave the papers before me. After an entire minute of silence, I finally tilted my face upwards to make sure it was Casmir who was still standing right in front of me. "Can't you speak?"
