I waited for Anna to tell me she was joking, but that response never came. And that was when it dawned on me that she was being serious. With no regard for her safety, my strong hands gripped her slender neck and pinned her to the wall. She was toying with me, and now I was going to force the truth right out of her mouth.

"What on earth are you saying?!" I queried through clenched teeth. She didn't reply, she couldn't even if she wanted to. I had her on a literal chokehold, any attempt to force words out of her mouth might actually destroy her vocal cords.
