My mind struggled to process what she was confessing. "You slept with liam..?" I asked, my voice wavering.

The world seemed to stop as I tried to grasp the enormity of her words. I had no idea how to feel right now, there were many emotions welling up inside of me, anger, hurt, and disbelief.

I broke away from Amelie's embrace and took two steps away from her.

"I need a minute to think." I said to her before returning my focus to the food in front of me.

"I don't have any excuses to give you, I messed up and I know it. You deserve to know the truth, and I'd take any sort of punishment you give me."

"Amelie, I said one minute. Do you ever listen?!" I lost control for a bit, and let my anger get the better of me. Yelling at her won't rewind the past, it would only make me angrier. What I needed right now was some space to fully process everything she'd just said.
