She Deserves Happiness

Amelie and I sat across the room while the children played with each other. Aside from us exchanging pleasantries at the door, neither of us have spoken to each other for more than twenty minutes. Something was up with her, I could tell. Throughout the entire time she's been here, something has been on her mind. She was constantly lost in thoughts, and I could tell she wasn't thinking about me.

"Aren't you going to say anything? I mean we're spending the whole day together, wouldn't it be best to start a conversation?" I finally asked, breaking the unnerving tension between us.

Amelie turned towards me slowly, her expression dull as she replied, "I don't feel like talking right now, can you just leave me alone?"

"You're mad because I insisted that you come with Junior, is that it? If that's the reason you look so moody, then you're free to leave. This is not the Amelie I want to talk to."
