On My Turf

Liam

The days sped by as we got ready to leave for London. And after a whole week of preparation and bidding our farewells to the friends here in Egypt, the day for departure finally came.

As we walked through the airport towards the awaiting plane, I couldn't help but notice a couple eyes staring. Most of them were whispering, but I paid them no attention. Although Hassan's fake article had been taken down, a decent amount of people had read it, and they clearly hadn't stopped talking about it.

I took a second to steal a peek at Amelie, but she was completely distracted. She'd been like this for the past few days, and although I didn't ask her many questions about it, I could tell something was on her mind. As we settled on our seats, the children tightly secured by our side, I finally mustered up the courage to ask her about everything.
