Rain couldn't let the fight escalate since he couldn't let the chaos spread or leave signs of the battle behind… all that was for the sake of not letting the other dragons realize what he was planning to do there.

"This will be a massive pain in the ass… to slay twenty dragons that are very known for their endurance and without alerting the others," Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Rain knew the most obvious option, but he didn't want to share the experience with the shield or let that asshole gain his memories… it could be convenient, but Rain needed to have some idea on how to deal with it before he takes some risks with the shield.

Even though he doesn't have a body, he still could get stronger, which was surprising since the relics should only have a copy of his memories and knowledge. That being said, the firebirds that Rain used were some entities that could level up, so perhaps that wasn't unreasonable.
