Delusion

In all likelihood, the creature could only harness its ability to absorb heat under certain conditions, perhaps requiring it to endure a certain degree of damage or exertion before it could tap into its full potential. Such constraints served as both a boon and a bane, offering the creature incredible power in exchange for the vulnerability inherent in its physical form.

Rain decided to focus on defense and absorb the kinetic and thermal energy of the attacks, but soon, the creature faked a punch and then hit his right side… Rain's ribs cracked, and a large chunk of his body burned as well.

"This fucker got faster too…" Rain thought while groaning.

Rain noticed the flames on the enemy's body moving faster… so Arel was probably using them to propel herself faster. Rain wondered if she was inside the body or if she was just controlling it… it seemed a bit too dangerous.
