Chapter Twenty-two
I woke up the next morning to see the house all cleaned and breakfast waiting for me. Well... someone is trying to be at their best. He was in the kitchen doing the dishes if the night before and he didn't notice when I walked in.
" Is someone trying to bribe me to forgive him?" I said as I leaned in on the door. He turned to me and smiled.
" No, he's trying to earn his forgiveness" he said and then he got serious.
" Anny, I'm really sorry. I guess I messed up, give me a chance to make it right" he said.
" I'm not mad at you Rio" I said as I walked to him. I put my hands around his neck.
" I'm just glad you could tell me the truth" I said. He hugged me and we kissed. A short one though, I broke it off.
" Now what do we have for breakfast. I'm starving"
" Well you are in luck cause I activated my chef button today" he said and I laughed.
" Come on and let me blow your mind with Rio's cooking" he added. I laughed again and followed him to the dining. He cooked spaghetti and sauce and damn! it was good. Rio's perfect in a way, kind of everything a girl wants. But too bad, this isn't real. At least not for me.
After the meal, we went over to the living room and settled in to talk. I laid on his laps while he sat up straight.He had his hand busy by fiddling with my hair. We had started a discussion about ourselves.
" So you don't eat vegetables?" I asked.
" Nope" he replied.
" You allergic?"
" Nah! I just don't like 'em"
" I love vegetables" I said with a slight shrug.
" That's you" he responded.
" Quick question babe, Do you ever get nervous around me?" he asked.
" No, I don't"
" Okay! Are you bored?"
" No I'm not. I could stay like this all day. I'm with you afterall " I responded and he smiled.
" Isn't your sister coming home? " Rio asked.
" No, she's spending the weekend too at Kyle's place, her fiance"
" Kyle?"
" You know him?"
" Yeah, he's my elder brother's friend"
" What's your elder brother's name?" I asked.
" Raymond"
" Oh! He has my dad's name. That's cool."
" Do you have a sister?" I added.
" Yeah, Catherine but she's not from the same mum"
" Oh! " I didn't know he had a step sister.
" How old is Catherine?"
" She's 19"
" And Raymond?"
" 21"
" Is he getting married soon?" I asked with a chuckle.
" Hey! Isn't he too young to get married" Rio replied smiling. I shrugged and he smiled again.
" He has a girlfriend though whom I think is actually here to stay. Her name's Phoebe"
" Well that's nice. Wish them luck"
" Yeah thanks honey"
We stayed quiet for a while and then his phone beeped. He picked it up before I could, read the content then sighed and switched off his phone.
" Who was that?" I asked suspiciously.
" No one important" he responded.
" I wanna know" I insisted.
" You really don't have to" he refused.
" I want to"
" Fine! It was Ashley"
" What did she say?"
" She said... she... she said she wants to see me"
I knew it! This dude is still trying to play me. I'm gonna teach him a lil' lesson.
" So you've still got something to do with that girl. Are you trying to use me or what?"
" Anny, it's not like that. I..." he tried to explain when I stood up from his laps.
" That's it. When you're done with those bitches, you know where to find me" I said and went to my room. He tried to follow me but I slammed the door in his face.
" Anny please. Let me explain"
His Pov
God! What kind of girls did I get myself involved with? They never listen. I warned Ashley to stop texting me but that bitch, she never listens. Now Anny's mad at me.
" Anny please listen to me. You know I love you"
" Oh please! Go tell that to your hundred and one bitches. I can't even trust you, maybe I'm just another option on your survey list" Anny said.
" Anny, that's not true. I'm real, I don't wanna use you"
" Oh really! After you accepted a stupid deal to make me fall for you. What would you call that? "
" Anny, if I didn't love you I wouldn't have told you about the deal"
" You told me about that deal to make me trust you not to show me that you love me. I'm not stupid Rio"
" Anny c'mon"
" Leave me alone, I don't wanna talk to you" she said.
Damn this girl! Really, she's driving me insane. I can't believe I tell her I love her up to ten times a day. That's some shit I've never done before. I mean, I've said it so much that I must say, it's beginning to come true. Unlucky me!
My phone rang. It was mum, she was calling me to come home.
" Anny, I gotta go. Mum needs me"
" That's your business" she said rudely.
" I'll come back" I said
" Suit yourself" she responded.
She didn't even come out to say goodbye or at least say a normal bye. Jeez! This girl! I went out of her house with a disheartened spirit. This girl has really got me.
