Chapter Forty

Her Pov

It's been three days since the whole break up with Rio. So far, I've felt really good or maybe I don't. Almost everyone hates me now. My friends are mad at me, partly cause of what I said and I ain't willing to apologize. Kyra thinks I'm stupid and I'mma let someone good slip off my fingers. She's mad at me too and she's away cause of that. She hasn't been home since I told her. I've had a lot of time to think. I don't still think I was wrong cause I don't fucking love this guy. My heart's with someone else now. At least I'm admitting that. I'm in love with Styles, yeah I am.

Speaking of Styles, I haven't heard from him. He's supposed to be back from his vacation by now but he hasn't called or texted. Well maybe, he's trying to settle in, he promised to give me a call once he's home. He asked me not to call him but to wait for his call so I'm kinda stuck. And I miss him so fucking much, I really do.I can't wait to be wrapped in his arms, just how did I fall so much?

It was a cold evening and I decided to go for a walk, my favorite thing in situations like this. I put on a hoodie and went out of the house. I just strolled around, my hands in my pockets enjoying the fresh air. At least it'd sooth my haywire feelings. Something caught my attention and I couldn't help but look twice. I couldn't be mistaken or was I seeing things. I knew every part of him. Even though he was facing me, I knew it was him. That was definitely Styles.

So he's back? That's crazy! Why didn't he call me or at least, a text would have been something. Oh! I'm gonna be so mad at him. But first, I'd give him a surprise hug then I'mma scold him. That'd be perfect. I'm sure he'd love to hear that Rio and I are over. Perfect welcome back news.

I walked over to him silently and hugged him from behind. He didn't move and I stiffened. What if it wasn't him? God! I didn't even think. Jeez! That'd be so embarrassing. He held my hand and then be pulled me away before turning to me. It was him. Thank goodness!

" Styles" I called happily with a smile which almost immediately turned into a frown when I saw him with another girl. Really?

" Ohh Hey!" Styles said. Ohh hey! Quite some way to greet your girlfriend after a whole week.I almost said that but I didn't.

" When did you return, Styles? Why didn't you call? Or text? I missed you" I said ignoring the girl who was looking suspiciously at me.

" Uhh...I didn't feel like" he said and my eyes widened. What the..?

" You didn't feel like?"

" Baby, who's she?" the girl said. Did she just call my boyfriend " Baby"??

"I should be asking that question. Who the hell are you?" I snapped out.

" Hey! Show some respect, you're talking to my girlfriend" Styles said and I froze. Girlfriend!!

" Girlfriend?" I said surprised.

" You heard me"

" Babe, is she the one you told me about?"

" Yeah, she is"

" So... you'll do it now?"

" Anything for you baby" Styles said and pecked her. Oh wow!

He finally turned to me and sighed like he had something very serious to say.I could feel my heart pumping like it was going to just burst open.

" Anny, you see, there's something I've been meaning to tell you" he stopped and ran his hand through his hair. I swear I almost fainted.

" I didn't mean to stay quiet for this long but it's really not my fault"

" Just get straight to the fucking point" I said, clenching and unclenching my fists with each look that girl gave me.

" Ai'it! The thing is.... my girlfriend here..." and he threw his arm around her shoulder, flashing a smile at her. The smile that was meant to be mine alone.

" ...doesn't want me around bitches and TBH, I'm already tired of using you"

My heart went numb. I froze all over again and the only thing my brain could process was what I said,

" Using me?"

" Uh-huh! And it's not like you actually gave me what I wanted. I mean, I'm pretty sure if I stayed a little longer and put in more effort, your 'no sex' resistance would definitely crumble but you see... I don't really see the need. My sugar here is giving me ten times the best you could ever give"

What the...? I couldn't breathe. My chest felt cramped up and I was suffocating just like someone having a panic attack. Styles seemed to notice and he stretched his free hand and touched my shoulder.

" Take it easy! " he said.

Angrily, I slapped his hand off my shoulder.

" Don't fucking touch me" he said.

" Wait! Don't tell me you actually fell for me" Styles said with an evil smirk.

" How could you? Did you think i was real?" he added when I said nothing. And then he started laughing. It rang in my ears and I felt my heart shatter even more. I felt like crying but I didn't. I couldn't. Even though my heart hurt more than anything I've ever felt, the tears just didn't come. And God! Was I grateful for that?

Still laughing, Styles turned to his " girlfriend" and said,

" She thought I was real. Jeez!"He seemed to double in his fits of laughter and when he finally stopped, the girl said to him,

" Babe, I think we should leave"

He smiled at her , nodded and turned back to me. His eyes met mine and the only thing I could see in them was the amusement. What was so funny about this?

" I can't believe it. The almighty Annalita fell for me. Boy! I never realized I'm that good" he said. I had said nothing all this while. I really had nothing to say, there was no need to even speak, I'd get choked up on my tears.

" Look Anny, at some point, you're gonna find someone to love you just like I love Debbie. Sincerely, it was stupid of you to have thought that I loved you. I mean, I thought you knew the game. It was all lies, all of it"

He paused, shook his head as if frustrated that he had to explain anything to me.

" The same way you've been lying to Rio. You were supposed to know"

As if Rio's name was all it needed, my tear sac broke loose and the tears came dropping. Slowly first and then like a storm.

" Oh no! Annalita, don't cry. Please don't, come on"

He looked around and back to me.

" Hey! Don't cry! I'll buy an ice cream for you, your favourite. Please don't cry" Styles said with a mocking smile.

" Styles" the girl said, tugging at his shirt.

" Right! Let's go" Styles said to her and then to me,

" So... I'll see you around" and he touched my cheek and walked away, his hands still on her shoulders leaving me standing there like I had done with Rio. This is crazy!!!
