Blade Saint once more (1)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Since you already know about it, I doubt an explanation is needed. I need you to repair the Immortal Crown, otherwise, with our current strength, we will have no chance of resisting the invasion of the Endless Abyss. The Endless Abyss is simply too powerful. Meanwhile, the Stargazing Tower has already collected the other materials required to repair the Immortal Crown, and right now, we are only missing Immortal Souls. Initially, I called you here to help me collect Immortal Souls gradually. However, I had not expected the Endless Abyss to escape its confinement so soon. In order to repair the Immortal Crown quickly, we need a large number of Immortal Souls. However, I do not want others to know of this, so I have no choice but to ask you to complete this task by yourself.

"The magic array that keeps the Endless Abyss in place will not last long. By my estimation, it will hold out for another three months. In three months, we will have no choice but to face the Endless Abyss directly. Hence, you must collect 10,000 Immortal Souls within that time.

"However, it won't be easy, which is why I asked you to meet me here. There are many Legacies within the Stargazing Tower, and I had originally intended to let you use one of the Advanced Legacies, but now, I feel like it would be a waste of your potential and possibilities.

"Of course, if you can complete this task, I can even make you the lord of a city. You will possess your very own fiefdom."

System: You have triggered the Epic Hidden Quest "Immortal Crown."

Quest details: You are required to collect 10,000 Immortal Souls within three months. If you fail to do so, your soul will be cursed and barred from logging into God's Domain for one month. In addition, your soul will enter a weakened state for three months, decreasing your Attributes by 90% during this period.

System: Do you wish to accept Sharlyn's quest?

"Naturally, I'll accept the quest. It'll be pretty easy with my current strength anyway. But you don't have to worry about the Legacy I'll use, as I already have one. Though, I do need your help with it."

"Good. Since you've agreed, the contract between us will be established from this moment onward." Sharlyn nodded and drew a silver rune in midair. She then imprinted the rune on the back of Feng's hand and asked, "What Legacy do you have, and what help do you need from me? You should know that I won't be able to do much now that I have given you my Full Blessing."

After giving away a Full Blessing, Sharlyn became completely drained of energy. Although she was still at Tier 4, the combat power and strength Sharlyn could currently exhibit was barely at Tier 1; and that's only because of her various equipment as well as the skills she possessed.

System: You have accepted the Epic Hidden Quest "Immortal Crown."

"Simple," Feng took out the Sword in the Stone and showed it to Sharlyn "I need you to unseal this thing. Only Tier 4 classes can do it."

Sharlyn, immediately became serious upon the appearance of the Sword in the Stone. Indescribable emotions flashed in her eyes as she fixed her gaze on the crystal-encased sword in Feng's hands.

Sharlyn reacted as if the sword in Feng's hands had suddenly appeared out of thin air.

"Just what is this? It actually escaped the detection of my Eyes of God." Sharlyn was momentarily surprised. Even as she looked directly at the sword, her Eyes of God could not discern any information. It was as if the sword before her did not exist.

Eyes of God was a Tier 3 advanced detection spell, and even Legendary items could not escape its detection. Yet, the Sword in the Stone had actually....

"It's the Destroyer of immortality." Feng didn't let Sharlyn stay curious for long as he revealed the sword's identity.

"T-the Destroyer of Immortality!" Sharlyn was tongue-tied by the revelation, but a moment later, she merely bitterly smiled and shook her head "I don't even know why I'm surprised. I shouldn't have expected anything less from you. Least surprising thing I've heard today." However, she suddenly thought of something "Wait, since not even my Eyes of God worked on it, how do you know its requirements for unsealing? Or, even if you know them from your previous life, how did you discover them then?"

"Well, in my previous life, I got the Omniscient Eyes from the Golden Stigmata; while this time, I received the Eyes of Truth from the Purple Stigmata." Feng explained upon seeing Sharlyn's confusion.

"Oh... ok. Rather surprising that Kratos was actually willing to lend you his power." At this point, Sharlyn wasn't even surprised. She merely nodded to Feng's words and inquired as she pointed at the Sword in the Stone "Tell me, then. What are the conditions to awaken this sword?"

"Twenty-one Mana Stones and three Tier 4 classes are needed to awaken the power slumbering within this sword," Feng recited the information he could see using the Eyes of Truth.

"Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to help you," Sharlyn shook her head after Feng stated the conditions "In my current state, I won't be able to serve as even one of the required Tier 4s, let alone unseal it by myself; as I'm guessing I did in that other timeline."

"I guessed as much." Feng sighed at the price for a Full Blessing and how much Sharlyn became weakened after giving one "Thankfully, though, I have a solution." Saying so, Feng took out a crystal bottle filled with a sparkling golden liquid.

As soon as the bottle was removed from Feng's bag, the mana inside of Sharlyn's room instantly moved in waves as it grew denser, reaching solid state in an instant. Moreover, dense Eternal Energy and Divine Might also radiated from the golden liquid. Just by it existing, the environment inside of Sharlyn's room had instantly transformed, and the effects started spreading outside into the rest of the Moon Weeping Pavilion.

This crystal bottle was none other than the Divine Rank Consumable Feng had received as a reward from the system for being the first player to obtain a Full Blessing, Blessing's Relief.

It seems the Main God's System rewards the first player to receive a Full Blessing with an item that helps to deal with the penalties of giving one away, as the Blessing's Relief could be used to restore much of a God's drained power. Although it won't allow the God to completely recover, and the God's strength won't ever return to its peak, the Blessing's Relief would hasten the process by a large margin, with even some of the permanent penalties being mitigated.

However, this extremely valuable treasure that would normally be of great help to a God after giving a Full Blessing would bring minimal benefits to Sharlyn, and she'd probably barely recover to the strength of a Tier 4, with her God Factor practically being unaffected by it. After all, not only was Sharlyn at her peak comparable to Primordial Gods, but she had already been in a weakened state even before she gave Feng her Full Blessing. On top of her being a natural-born God whose soul God Factor was completely drained, while her physical one hadn't even recovered yet, the effects of even a Divine Rank Consumable such as the Blessing's Relief would be nearly useless.

Still, it should allow her to recover enough power to unseal the Sword in the Stone so that Feng could activate the Blade Saint Legacy.

Sharlyn's eyes widened upon seeing the Blessing's Relief. Although she didn't know exactly what it was, Sharlyn could still feel the incredible amount of Eternal Energy contained inside of the crystal bottle and knew it would slightly help her recover from her current condition.

Before Sharlyn could ask about it, Feng had already casually tossed the Blessing's Relief towards her, causing Sharlyn to hurriedly catch it. After inspecting the crystal bottle's information and finding out about the golden liquid's effects, Sharlyn immediately opened the bottle and downed the contents; causing dense Eternal Energy and Divine Might to flow through her body, while her aura spiked and started slowly rising towards Tier 4 once more.

After a couple of minutes, Sharlyn had fully absorbed the Blessing's Relief and her aura, which had nearly recovered, steadied. Though, her aura recovering to the Tier 4 standard was only an illusion. In reality, even now, Sharlyn was nowhere near close as strong as before, as most of the energy that was used for the Full Blessing was her Divine energy and her God Factor's; which although it wouldn't affect her on the surface, it plays a large role in Sharlyn's overall strength and is what had allowed her to do the things Feng saw in his previous life.

Now, she barely had the strength of an average Tier 4 NPC, with her only advantage being some of her inherent skills as well as her knowledge and utilization of mana, along with the control she had over it. Nevertheless, it was precisely that which Feng needed her to unseal the Sword in the Stone with.

"Phew, it's great not feeling like a drained up corpse. You wouldn't happen to have a few more of those, would you? With around a thousand or so, I and my God Factor might recover enough to start regenerating the physical God Factor. I might even be able to turn you into a Hero at that point." Sharlyn straightened her back and released a relived sigh as her face finally regained some color. But to her question, Feng merely rolled his eyes.

This was a reward from the system for being the very first player to ever receive a Full Blessing. How could he possibly get another thousand of those?

"Of course not. You think Divine Rank items that can help Gods recover are something I can buy off the street?"

"What a shame." A disappointed sigh escaped Sharlyn, but she had already expected as much since she knew the potion Feng gave her was something very special from the benefits it gave her and from the aura she had felt from it. In fact, she wondered how Feng managed to acquire even one such thing, but didn't bother asking, as she knew he'd simply give her an answer that would shock her.

"Anyway, pass me the Mana Stones, and let's begin. I want to see just what kind of item the Destroyer of immortality truly is. Little dum-" Sharlyn suddenly stopped mid sentence as if she had thought of something, before looking towards Feng "By the way, since I already gave you my Full Blessing, and we'll be working closely together from now on, I suppose I should stop calling you just Little Dummy. What's your name?"

Although she could see Feng's information and knew he went by Ye Feng, Sharlyn also knew some things about heaven-blessed individuals, and that their names in God's Domain weren't necessarily what they were actually called, so she still felt like she should ask Feng for his name.

"Hm?" Feng was slightly surprised by Sharlyn's sudden question. After all, during his previous life, even after he had promoted to Tier 6 and saved his God's Domain, and even after helping out Sharlyn a bit afterwards with their God's Domain's problems, she always referred to him simply as 'you', or switched up her original pet name for him with with either Big Dummy or just Dummy.

It was only way after when they started fighting together to protect their God's Domain that Sharlyn asked for his name and that their relationship grew. However, Feng shook his head a moment later and simply smiled to Sharlyn's question while giving her the 21 Mana Stones "You can just call me Feng, Sharlyn. I already know you fairly well, so there's no need for you to introduce yourself."

"Alright, then, Feng, stand back, and I'll begin." Sharlyn nodded while memorizing his name.

After saying so, Sharlyn tossed the 21 Mana Stones into the air and started chanting an incantation. The 21 Mana Stones suddenly split up and flew in all directions. Fortunately, Sharlyn's room was sufficiently large. After the Mana Stones flew 20 yards, they immediately stopped, hovering in the air. The Mana Stones then started to spin slowly. In the next moment, silvery-white light shone from under their feet.

Feng immediately distanced himself from the magic array that appeared, watching silently from afar.

As the 21 floating Mana Stones rotated, the Sword in the Stone hovered in the center of the magic array.

Sharlyn then shouted. Suffocatingly dense Mana filled the room, buzzing.

As if unable to withstand this immense pressure, the 21 Mana Stones immediately shattered into dust, forming clouds of gray smoke that flowed into the Sword in the Stone.

When the Sword in the Stone completely absorbed one of the Mana Stones, the Legacy Item emitted a thumping sound that resembled a heartbeat.

However, as more Mana Stones fused with the sword, the thumping became much louder and more powerful. It was as if the disintegrated Mana Stones were waking an ancient beast from its deep slumber.

However, as Mana Stones continued to drift into the sword, Sharlyn, who currently stood inside the magic array, grew weaker.

By the time the sixth Mana Stone fused with the sword, Feng could clearly feel that only half of the terrifying Mana that filled the room remained. At this moment, Sharlyn had also greatly weakened. As the thirteenth Mana Stone melded with the sword, Sharlyn began to grow pale. When the twentieth Mana Stone fused with the sword, with only one remaining, Sharlyn wavered. A gentle breeze could send her tumbling to the floor and it seemed like she wouldn't be able to finish the unsealing process.

Feng frowned as he watched. Although he wished to help Sharlyn, there wasn't anything he could do at his current standard. He could neither control the Magic Array, manipulate mana, nor did he have any items that could help Sharlyn. Even using his Soul Manipulation ability wouldn't do anything. As he racked his mind, a possibility appeared in Feng's mind.

Unequipping the Blood Emperor's Armor, Feng spread his wings and arrived by Sharlyn's side. The pure-white wings glowed with a holy light as a faint Divine Might, exactly the same as Sharlyn's, covered their surface. As his wings came in contact with Sharlyn, the wings' Divine Might started to spread to her.

Sensing the sudden change, Sharlyn, who was about to pass out and collapse, opened her eyes and stood up straight while controlling the Magic Array and causing the last Mana Stone to fuse with the sword.

As the awakening ritual had come to an end and the silver magic array that covered the floor vanished, Sharlyn became thoroughly drained of energy and started collapsing, only to be held up by Feng.

Boom!

The Sword in the Stone hovering in the air suddenly fell, half its blade sinking into the floor.

"Sharp!"

Sharlyn, who was currently unstable from the drain of Mana and was being supported by Feng, could not hold back her shock when she saw the blade slide smoothly into the floor.

Not even the Great Destruction had managed to destroy the Stargazing Tower. The strongest and highest quality materials had gone into this monument's construction. Magic arrays reinforced the building further. A full-powered blow from a Tier 4 Sword Emperor armed with a Legendary ranked sword could not even scratch the floor. Yet, the hovering Sword in the Stone sunk effortlessly into the wood.

By now, the transparent crystal encasing the sword had completely disappeared. Only a sword with a golden hilt and guard remained, with a blade that was as pure and clear as a diamond.

"It really is the Destroyer of Immortality!" Sharlyn was tongue-tied when she read the Sword in the Stone's information, which was now fully visible.

[Destroyer of Immortality]

A creation born of nature, containing unrivaled power. Although it was greatly damaged during the war between the Ancient Gods, it had absorbed some of their powers. If one can master this blade, they will obtain a trace of the Ancient Gods' powers.

Class restriction: Berserker and Swordsman

"Alright, thanks for the help, you can rest now. I'll get on with the Legacy and check on you after I'm done." Feng helped Sharlyn to the couch before walking to the Destroyer of Immortality planted in the floor while retracting his wings and re-equipping the Blood Emperor's Armor.

As he did, Feng called up his system interface and checked on his current level. With the various rewards he received from Sharlyn's Full Blessing, Feng's level had increased by 25, reaching Level 45. After doing some calculations based on his current EXP, Feng leveled up the Aura of Fire and Aura of Wind once each, pushing them to Tier 1 Level 3 and Tier 1 Level 2 respectively, and dropped back down to Level 20.

Afterwards, Feng checked his Free Mastery Points and placed 300 of them into his one-handed sword mastery, pushing it to Advanced Sword King, and needing only 240 more points to promote his Mastery to Basic Sword Emperor.

After settling his gains, Feng reached for the Destroyer of Immortality, when Sharlyn suddenly called out to him.

"Wait a moment," Sharlyn seemed to want to ask something, but hesitated "By the way, you previously mentioned my- Actually, never mind, I don't care. I'll be resting in White River City's Library if you need me. Good luck with your Promotion trial." Sharlyn eventually gave up on what she wanted to ask and wished Feng good luck before leaving.

Seeing Sharlyn's actions, Feng merely shook his head, knowing what she had wanted to ask about, and switched his gaze back to the Destroyer of Immortality. He then grabbed the golden hilt of the sword. When he tried to pull the translucent blade out of the ground, however, it did not budge. Even with Feng's current strength, the sword remained firmly stuck in the floor no matter how hard he tried or how much strength he exerted. Instead, the sound of a system notification reached his ears.

System: Do you wish to accept the Legacy Trial? (Remaining time: 23 hours 54 minutes)

Feng accepted the trial without any hesitation.

Suddenly, the Destroyer of Immortality released a divine golden light, enveloping Feng. In the next moment, both the Destroyer of Immortality and Feng vanished from the room.

A powerful barrier protected the Stargazing Tower, and all forms of teleportation magic were rendered ineffective here, regardless of whether said magic was used to enter or leave the Tower. Yet, the Destroyer of Immortality had effortlessly accomplished this feat.

---

In the blink of an eye, Feng arrived in a dimly illuminated field. Swords were everywhere, from the sky to the earth. This place was literally a world of swords.

In the distance, Feng could see a mountain piercing the sky. A faint, silver glow radiated from the mountain's peak, and it was the only source of light in this dim world.

System: You have discovered the Origin Sword Domain.

System: You are in a unique realm. All forms of communications have been sealed. You are unable to make contact with the outside world.

Feng examined the swords stabbed into the ground, all of which were immovable. Some even resembled buildings and plants. Unlike flowers and trees, however, Feng would receive damage if he touched these blades.

After noting that everything was the same as he remembered, Feng unequipped his Chestplate and allowed his wings to spread out freely, instantly granting him a feeling of relief. After holding them in for a bit, the uncomfortable feeling in his back only increased, and although he had released them when he was helping out Sharlyn, the situation at the time didn't quite allow him to enjoy the relieving feeling before he had stuffed them back in.

Now that he could finally spread them freely, Feng decided to take advantage of the grace period where he wouldn't be attacked by any of the swords until he moved from his current spot to enjoy the feeling and properly inspect his new body parts.

The wings made of pure-white feathers that had a wing span of around three meters moved slightly as Feng tried to control them. Although the wings were a completely new body part Feng had never physically experienced on their current level, with his standard and the control he had over his body, Feng managed to get a hang of them and was able to move them around a bit after a few moments.

Curling his wings slightly, the two pure-whites bent so that they were right in front of his face and blocked his front. Extending his hand, Feng's fingertips brushed up along the feathers, causing a tingling sensation, along with a jolt to rush through Feng's body, and him to immediately retract his hand while his face contorted slightly as he sucked in a sharp breath.

"I never expected them to be so sensitive." Feng looked at the pure-white wings with slight caution, no longer trying to touch and feel them up. As soon as his fingers came in contact with the gentle feathers, the tingling sensation caused by the touch instantly made his entire body twitch at the sudden feeling that passed through his entire body. As he carefully inspected the wings and looked for the reason for the wings' sensitivity, a realization suddenly came to Feng's mind "No wonder she reacted like that. I finally understand now!"

In his previous life, Feng had been extremely curious about Sharlyn's wings after seeing them for the first time. While asking about them to Sharlyn who was distracted with something, Feng had casually reached out to touch them and examine them a bit more closely, which made Sharlyn's entire body shudder by the unexpected touch, as well as causing her to release a sound that greatly resembled a moan.

In retrospect, it really was a bad idea.

You should never go around randomly touching a girl's body parts; even if they are a pair of over a thousand meter long, giant wings. Actually, you shouldn't go around randomly touching people at all, and that was a valuable lesson that Feng solidified in his mind that day.

After throwing a couple of Tier 6 Curses at Feng, as well as a few verbal ones, Sharlyn huffed and warned him to never touch her wings again.

Feng merely nodded and shrugged at her response. Inwardly, though, he had always wondered about her weird reaction; at least, he did up until right now. After experiencing the sensitivity of his wings and the feeling touching them gave him, Feng felt that he finally understood Sharlyn's reaction at the time. Indeed, he, too, wouldn't want someone randomly going around and feeling up his wings with the feeling it causes him.

Though, at Sharlyn's standard at the time as well as her already being at Tier 6, Feng felt that her reaction was like that only because of the suddenness of his touch and her being completely unprepared for it; otherwise, she definitely would not have reacted in such a exaggerated manner, or at least, would not have moaned out loud...

Of course, this was only when the wings are in a passive state.

Reacting to Feng's touch and the sensation it caused, a faint Divine Might started spreading along the pure-white feathers until it covered the entire wings. Meanwhile, the Divine Might was exactly the same as the one he felt from Sharlyn, both in this life and his previous one.

The faint Divine Might served as a defensive mechanism that protected the wings from external threats. Although it wouldn't completely make the wings invulnerable to damage, at least they won't become Feng's weak spots when he spread them out, and he won't receive as much damage when attacks land on them as he would on the rest of his body while unprotected by armor.

As for how much protection Feng's wings received from the Divine Might, as well as their durability, from the information he obtained from Sharlyn, it depended on his Physique, and after he reached Tier 3 and fused his wings into his Mana Body, it would also depend on the strength and quality of his Mana Body.

In fact, if his Mana Body was weak, his wings might not even be as strong as Bronze rank items. But if his Mana Body was strong enough, the wings could become stronger than even Divine rank equipment.

This would result in Feng being able to use the wings as shields, or even as weapons, which he could incorporate into a new unique fighting style.

After getting a hang of the wings' basic movements, Feng controlled them to flap behind him, causing the air behind him to roll as a small gust of wind spread out. With another, but faster and stronger, flap Feng's body slightly moved; and with a third flap, he was lifted of the ground.

As Feng rose a few yards in the air, several of the swords hanging in the air flew in his direction with their blades pointed at him. As the swords were everywhere in the air as well as on different heights, while Feng hovered a few yards from the ground with his wings continuously flapping, he ended up being attacked from all directions with some of the swords descending on him, some flying at him from the sides and some even from below him.

But Feng remained unconcerned by the incoming swords and merely kept examining and making mental notes of how his wings operated when flying.

"Time to test out how these babies work in action." Just as the many swords were about to stab into Feng, his wings suddenly flapped. In the next moment, Feng appeared over twenty yards from his previous position, causing all of the swords to miss their target and fly into different directions, before falling and stabbing into the ground.

Meanwhile, the swords around the position where Feng had arrived started moving and flying at him. With another flap, Feng once again completely avoided all of the attacking swords, and covered a sizeable distance. Feng currently had the attributes of a Tier 4 player, so his speed was naturally one the swords could not keep up with. On top of the control Feng had over his body, he could easily weave through the numerous swords without even grazing any of them.

As Feng avoided a few more sword barrages and flew for a few hundreds of yards, the ground beneath him suddenly split apart. In the next moment, bone knights in silver armor crawled out of the fissure, every one of them emitting frightening killing intent as they looked up at Feng.

[Skeleton Warrior] (Undead Creature, Elite Rank)

Level 25

HP 20,000/20,000

The silver suits of armor shone brilliantly under the dimly lit sky, creating an exceptionally conspicuous sight.

Feng wasn't at all surprised by the skeletons. Instead, he calmly landed as he unsheathed his two swords and slashed one in front of him and one behind him.

Thunder Flash!

Thunder Flame Explosion!

Five streaks of lightning flew out of the Pandemonium Lashblade and passed through the group of Skeleton Warriors, instantly emptying all of their HP bars. With Feng's current strength, it was very easy to take care of a group of such weak monsters, especially when using an AOE skill such as Thundering Flash. Moreover, now that he had received Sharlyn's Blessing, Feng also did increased damage to creatures affiliated with Darkness, such as Undead Creatures.

Although the dozens of Skeleton Warrior had died and been reduced to piles of pearly white bones scattered across the plains, other than an inconsequential amount of Skill Proficiency, Feng received nothing at all. He did not receive even a tiny amount of EXP. Fortunately, he didn't really care about that.

Meanwhile, the explosion of thunder and flame coming out of the Abyssal Blade easily took down all of the swords that were descending after him from when he last flapped his wings and flew down to his current position.

Afterwards, Feng took casual steps as he approached the field of bones, which had began to tremble, while many swords descended upon him. However, none of the swords managed to so much as graze him as Feng calmly strolled forward, and they all even seemed to be actively avoiding him as if scared of Feng.

The bones then gathered a moment later.

In the blink of an eye, these bones transformed into an entirely new monster. This monster was three times the size of the Skeleton Warriors from before. It wielded a Skeletal Giant Axe in one hand and a thick black chain in the other. Dark green flames burned in its empty eye sockets. Emitting an angry roar, it charged at Feng with massive, thudding steps. With every step this monster took, the land beneath its feet would crack and shatter. One could see just how powerful this monster was.

[Skeleton Giant] (Undead Creature, Chieftain Rank)

Level 30

HP 250,000/250,000

Completely unbothered by the charging giant, Feng sheathed the Abyssal Blade while slashing the Pandemonium Lashblade in the Skeleton Giant's direction, before returning it too to its sheath.

Earth Splitter!

The sword light reached and passed through the Skeleton Giant before it could react, and the giant instantly crumbled into a pile of bones.

Feng then noticed a golden piece of paper with divine runes laying beside the Skeleton Giant's remains. When he picked it up, Feng used the Eyes of Truth on the paper.

Legacy Chapter (7th page): A scattered page that has fallen out of a Legacy Book written by the Ancient Gods. This Legacy Book holds records for one of the Ten Great Saint Legacies. It has a total of 50 pages. After gathering all of the pages, the Saint Legacy contained within the Legacy Book will become available.

Class Requirements: Berserker, Swordsman.

After picking up the Legacy Chapter, Feng flapped his wings and rose into the air once more before flying in the mountain's direction while dodging the numerous swords flying at him.

Although the swords that descended from the sky were growing more accurate and faster as he advanced, they were hardly a nuisance to Feng. And after Feng got more experienced with using his wings, they weren't even that, as he effortlessly flew in the sky at fast speeds while moving through the storms of swords.

Without even noticing, Feng had arrived near the foot of the Sword Peak Mountain while experimenting with his new form of movement, when he suddenly discovered a monster of steel slowly descending the mountain. This steel monster seemed to be patrolling its territory.

Although this monster was not large, only twice as tall as Feng, all four of its limbs were blades. The rest of its body was made of pitch-black steel, decorated with spikes. It looked like a machine of slaughter.

[Blade Demon] (Demonic Creature, Chieftain Rank)

Level 30

HP 300,000/300,000

Flapping his wings, Feng flew in the Blade Demon's direction. Without bothering to land, Feng slashed his sword at the Blade Demon when he flew within range. Five thunder streaks flew out, and before the Blade Demon, even with its fast Reaction Speed, could react, they landed on it from above.

Casually flying by, Feng picked up the piece of paper that fell from the Blade Demon's body without stopping, and stuffed it into his bag after using the Eyes of Truth on it.

[Broken Steel Forging Design Fragment]

Epic Rank Unique Set Equipment. Set consists of a total of six pieces.

Current fragment count (1/18)

Feng then continued flying around the mountain and across the plains while scanning the ground for more monsters.

Ten hours later, an Earth Splitter finished off a Skeleton Giant, from which a golden piece of paper dropped. Picking it up and noting it was the 49th, Feng rose into the air and turned towards the Sword Peak Mountain.

With the Lucky Charm, the rate at which Feng gathered the Legacy Chapters and Broken Steel Forging Design Fragments far outpaced the one in his previous life. In fact, in only an hour after arriving at the Origin Sword Domain, Feng had obtained 8 Legacy Chapters and 2 Design Fragments. However, as the drop rate significantly decreased with every chapter and fragment he managed to get, as well as the respawn rates of the monsters not being completely optimal for Feng's hunting pace, it also increased the time necessary to gather them all. Still, within only ten hours, Feng had collected 49 Legacy Chapters and 17 Design Fragments. He was only one piece away from completing both items.

Aside from grinding for the Legacy Chapters and Design Fragments, as well as a small amount of Skill Proficiency, during these ten hours, Feng had also spent the time getting himself thoroughly familiar with his wings and testing out their full capabilities. Feng had concluded that moving through the air with his wings was many times faster than moving on the ground, and even when casually flapping them a a moderate pace, Feng was still nearly three times faster than when walking.

If he sped up the rate at which he flapped them, he'd be around four times faster than when running, and if he increased it even higher, the speed at which he moved through the air would be around five times faster than running at full speed. As for when Feng flapped his wings at maximum speed and strength, he'd be nearly fifteen times faster than running at full speed. Moreover, there was also the fact that there were normally less obstacles in the air, as well as that the size and power of his wings would continuously increase along with his Physique and Tier; which would directly boost the speed at which Feng could fly at.

Of course, the speed and benefits the wings provided also had a price, which was greatly increased consumption of Stamina. A basic flap of his wings with minimal strength would consume around as much Stamina as taking ten steps. And as the rate and strength at which he flapped them increased, the Stamina consumption also grew exponentially.

In fact, Feng's current Stamina couldn't even support him moving at full speed with his wings for more than a couple of seconds.

Thankfully, Feng didn't require the need to fly at high speeds during this trial, as even his basic flaps allowed him to easily dodge all of the swords that attempted to skewer him; otherwise Feng would have become completely drained of his Stamina. Still, even with Feng's Physique and current attributes, his Stamina recovery barely managed keep up with the consumption, and sometimes even failed when Feng was searching around the mountain and plains while looking for more monsters at a high pace.

Looking towards the distant Sword Peak Mountain's peak, Feng faintly smiled. His pure-white wings seemed to move, and Feng instantly disappeared from his position while leaving behind countless afterimages of himself and his wings flapping at an incredibly high speed.

If someone were to be looking at this scene from above, they'd only see a white streak flash across the Origin Sword Domain's plains and reach the Sword Peak Mountain's peak in less than three seconds. Meanwhile, along the way, none of the floating swords could even react in time to move towards the streak; merely twitching for an instant before returning to their dormant state.

Feng landed on the mountaintop and took in a deep breath as his wings rested behind him. Although moving at such a speed allowed Feng to cross a great distance in a very short amount of time, it also drained his Stamina at an extraordinary pace. Just the three seconds of moving at his fastest speed using his wings had consumed more Stamina than the total amount of Stamina the ten hours of hunting for Legacy Chapters and Design Fragments had.

Another reason for why Feng was able to move at such a fast speed up the mountain, though, was that his wings were able to make full use of his current attributes' potential. Just because Feng currently had attributes compared to a Tier 4 player, it didn't necessarily mean he could properly use them with his current Physique. After all, even if a Tier 0 player somehow had Tier 6 level attributes, the player would end up self destructing if they tried to use them, as their body would not be able to handle it.

Without sufficient Physique, it's impossible to use attributes much higher than the user's tier, as a person's body would start collapsing when overwhelmed, until it eventually reaches its limit and breaks apart.

This isn't really an issue in lower tiers, as the gap in attributes during them wasn't too immense, so the players usually didn't have to worry about their bodies not being able to endure even when using attributes of a higher tier, which included Feng in his previous life, with the closest to getting a backlash being entering a weakened state after using twofold berserk.

It also wasn't really a threat in higher tiers, as players couldn't really manage to use attributes of a higher tier, while those that could had their own ways of enduring it with minimal consequences.

Only when a freak like Feng appeared, who could use attributes of a tier multiple times higher than his own, that the body not being able to endure his real strength became a problem.

Thus, Feng was caught in a predicament where his Physique's improvement, as great as it is, was unable to keep up with his attributes, which caused him to not be able to make complete use of them. Thought, Feng didn't really have an immediate need to use such high attributes, so he didn't have to risk overwhelming his body. After all, the penalty for him dying by his body collapsing was much more severe than the normal death penalty.

However, even though the strength and durability of Feng's wings depended on his Physique, they were still body parts inherited from a God through a Full Blessing; thus, they didn't face the same issues as the rest of Feng's body. Although they weren't as strong enough to allow Feng to use extremely high attributes like Tier 5 level, they could still handle using his current full attributes without being completely overwhelmed as long as it was for a short amount of time.

As he looked around, Feng suddenly discovered a majestic-looking armored knight standing at the mountaintop, the knight's hands gripping a greatsword.

This armored knight was different from the Skeleton Giants and Blade Demons.

The reason being, this greatsword-wielding knight was not a monster but an NPC, instead.

[Doren Paley] (Tier 1 Magic Knight)

Level 30

HP 300,000/300,000

Level 30 Tier 1 NPCs were much harder to deal with compared to Level 30 Chieftains.

Meanwhile, the Tier 1 NPC in front of Feng was clearly not an ordinary existence. Although Doren Paley only possessed 300,000 HP—the same amount as the Level 30 Chieftain ranked Blade Demon—the skills and intelligence he possessed would definitely be far stronger and higher than the Blade Demon's. To players, Doren Paley was a nightmare.

Taking a step forward, Feng dodged the swords raining down on him and arrived at the stone platform. The moment Feng stepped onto the stone platform Doren Paley stood on, the swords in the sky also stopped attacking him, as if declaring that Feng had completed the game of cat-and-mouse.

"Challenger, since you have managed to arrive at this place, it shows that you indeed possess some strength and are qualified to fight me. As long as you can defeat me, you will be allowed to continue advancing." When Doren Paley noticed Feng, instead of entering battle immediately, he revealed an excited expression and explained, "Starting now, you have five minutes to prepare. Five minutes later, I will start attacking. Of course, you are also allowed to initiate an attack ahead of time. I hope that you do not disappoint me."

Feng didn't bother responding to the NPC; instead, he merely took another step forward. In the next moment, Feng appeared in front of Doren Paley, whose eyes started widening upon perceiving the danger he was in. But before the NPC's eyes could even complete their full motion, Feng's palm made contact with his chest.

Doren's Chestplate instantly turned to dust, and the rest of his body immediately followed.

Feng squinted his eyes slightly and looked at his right hand which had turned Doren Paley into dust. Below the Shock-Inducing Fists, there were cracks that went along Feng's skin from his hand all the way down to his wrist with crimson blood flowing out . Although Feng didn't receive any damage and his HP bar was completely intact, his hand now had the heavily injured effect, making it unusable for some time.

This was the consequence of Feng using his full strength for an attack with his current Physique. Thankfully, Feng's Vitality was very high thanks to the Blood Emperor's Armor which he had re-equipped, the Space Helmet, the Lucky Charm, the Pandemonium Lashblade and Sharlyn's Full Blessing which gave a large boost to all of his attributes, so his hand would regenerate and be fixed up for use fairly quickly.

Four items dropped to the ground in place of Doren's body. There was a pitch-black key with a faint blue glow, a silver stone tablet, and the final Legacy Chapter and Broken Steel Forging Design Fragment.

Before Feng could pick up the drops, all of the Legacy Chapters he possessed flew from his bag and combined with the Legacy Chapter Doren had dropped, forming a thick and heavy ancient book. Golden divine runes decorated its cover. If translated to the language of players, these divine runes would read as "Legacy Book."

Feng picked up the drops before walking towards the hovering golden book before him. He then clicked on the Book of Legacies, checking its information.

System: Completion Rate 75%. Do you wish to open the Book of Legacies and accept the Legacy within?

"Oh? 75%?" Feng was slightly surprised by the increased Completion Rate, as it had only reached 70% in his previous life after defeating Doren, but Feng soon guessed it was because he had killed Doren properly instead of eliminating him by destroying all of the stone slabs like he previously did.

Of course, Feng rejected the offer to open the Legacy Book. He then stored the Legacy Book before retrieving the pitch-black, sword-shaped key and the silver tablet.

[Doren's Key]

This is a strange key. It exudes a faint trace of ancient magic.

[Secret Sword Technique]

The pattern engraved on this tablet is too vague and incomplete, and no information can be obtained from this pattern. However, some kind of divine power hides within this pattern. If one gathers all of the stone tablets, this vague and incomplete pattern can be restored.

Current tablet count (1/6)

Feng didn't care much for the tablet, as it could only be used to obtain a Silver Sword Combat Technique once all six parts were collected, and the key was what he actually needed. After storing the two items in his bag, Feng started slowly strolling across the mountaintop in the pool's direction while waiting for his hand to completely recover.

A few minutes later, Feng had arrived to the inconspicuous pool's side, while his hand had already recovered to normal, and looked down at the dark depths of the pool.

Without any hesitation, Feng immediately jumped into the pool, creating a loud splash. A piercing cold enveloped Feng's body, but he remained completely unaffected by the pool's low temperature. In comparison to the 60 points in Ice Resistance Feng had when he was here in his previous life, he now had 445 points, so the cold that was previously troubling to Feng was now completely irrelevant.

Swimming down with little effort as the water was very light, the surroundings quickly became encompassed in darkness as if he had fallen into a bottomless pit. Though, with Feng's current vision due to his high Physique, as well as his senses, he could still easily perceive his surroundings, and knew that he had already reached the underwater courtyard. Still, Feng decided to activated the Ice-Blue Devil Flame in order to light up his surroundings and get rid of the chilliness brought by the deeper waters.

The courtyard at the bottom of the pool looked ancient. Its architectural style was completely different from most of the buildings in the current God's Domain. It looked like the Elysium spoken of in legends. It was fascinating.

System: You have discovered the Eternal Courtyard.

Slowing down his pace slightly as he swam towards the spiral building with a shut gate that he had seen from the courtyard, Feng decided to admire the sceneries which he could not during his previous life.

The tightly shut gate was made of gold, and many drawings had been engraved on it. These drawings seemed related to the destruction of the Ancient Gods.

As he looked around the many images drawn all over the gate and surrounding walls, for some reason, Feng's attention was instantly attracted by a certain image of an ancient battlefield. Despite the image being fascinating and incredibly remarkable, if compared to the rest of the drawings strewn all around, it wouldn't be that special, and aside from the depictions of powerful beings, there were many other images of much greater battlefields. Yet, this particular image had instantly stuck out to Feng and even seemed... familiar for some reason.

After thinking for a moment in confusion, Feng's expression very quickly darkened as memories of the Mysterious Space he had been stuck in resurfaced.

Naturally, he was familiar with the ancient battlefield depicted in the image, as he had been there before, killed there before, and died there before while inside of that Mysterious Space.

Space-time mazes were very special existences in God's Domain. Only an extremely small number of players would encounter a space-time maze when traveling through space-time passages. An even smaller number of players would encounter a mysterious space after leaving the space-time maze.

This mysterious space was unresolvable; many people attributed its appearance to a bug in the game.

Every player that entered this mysterious space would end up in a very special world. Nobody knew what kind of world it was, and only one thing existed in this world. Slaughter!

It was as if the fragments of countless memories in God's Domain were collected in this special world.

Even when players were killed in this world, they wouldn't truly die. They would only go from one dream to another after their deaths, and this cycle would loop endlessly. Moreover, the pain players felt in this world wasn't mitigated in the slightest.

The concept of time in this world was also blurred.

The time players experienced inside this world was something only their minds perceived, with no effect on their real bodies. Hence, even when a player spent one or five years inside this special world, only hours or days might have passed in the real world.

Even in the Greater God's Domain, there wasn't much information on the Mysterious Spaces which appeared through out it despite it existing for a very long time and countless players getting stuck in them. Though, there were a few things people have discovered about them during the players' long history in the Greater God's Domain.

Firstly, it was that the Mysterious Spaces were made up of many scenes and moments from the Greater God's Domain's history, with some being in the modern era from many different God's Domains, and with some even being from the Primordial Era and when God's Domain was still intact; with some scenes being even before when living beings were only starting to appear on the God's Domain's whole continent.

Because of this, the Mysterious Spaces also became one of the sources for collecting and organizing the history of the Greater God's Domain, with some powers even using some known locations where players could get stuck in Mysterious Spaces to send people in and obtain more information and knowledge.

Secondly, it was discovered that not every Mysterious Space was the same. Although most of them run by the theme of having to fight, kill and survive, there were some that differentiated from others; and what kind of Mysterious Space a player ends up usually depends in which area of the Greater God's Domain they were in.

In some you'd endlessly be hunted until death, at which point you'd go to another place where you'd be hunted.

In some you'd be the one hunting until you kill your target, at which point you'd move to another target to hunt.

In some you'd fight on an endless battlefield until you died in battle.

In some you'd go down an endless hallway while constantly being ambushed from all directions, and if you died from an ambush, you'd restart at the beginning of the hallway, and remain stuck there until you reach the end.

In some you'd be assigned various roles you have to complete, from killing something, protecting something, getting something, and so on; almost like quests in the regular God's Domain, except you're under the constant threat of a painful death if you don't follow your role or fail to complete any and all tasks.

In some you'd only serve as a spectator, as you watched from the sidelines the endless tragic scenes of God's Domain's history while being completely unable to interact with anything or anyone. In some cases, you'd even watch from a first perspective of the tragedies that befell countless people.

In some, there wasn't even any violence, and you'd do some random, every-day task or job, from mining, building, crafting, chopping wood, farming, and even taking care of kids. The weirdest part was that the players would remain conscious the entire time, and they would know who they really are, where they are and how they got there, but, for some reason, wouldn't question anything in the slightest as they went on with their jobs. It was only way after when the players left the Mysterious Space that they realized everything that had happened, which considerably weirded them out how they simply went along with everything while knowing full well their situation and not bothering to question it.

There were even some Mysterious Spaces where there was nothing. A completely empty, white or black void. The players could only attempt to wonder around aimlessly while searching for an exit, only to find none. The only way to leave was to wait until you automatically just reappear outside, but that always took an unknown amount of time. Months, years, decades or even centuries. Some players had even lost track of how long they had spent in it, as it was impossible to keep track of it forever.

On extremely rare occasions, though, players could appear in a very weird world. It was similar to the completely empty one, except, it wasn't. According to the total of four players that had ever experienced it, everywhere they looked, there were only red colored Error messages. Some big, some small, some miniscule, some giant, some so small they'd only see a red dot and some so big to the point that the players could only see one letter at a time.

Moreover, according to the players' description, they could feel and perceive their surroundings despite the countless error messages, but could not at the same time. Whenever they tried to, everything would either suddenly change, they'd get disoriented or light headed, their thoughts would not be able to completely form, or sometimes even when they managed to perceive what was going on around them, their thoughts and memories of what they were able to grasp would be instantly wiped away and erased.

This was the closest thing players had came across in God's Domain that could be described as a bug.

It was as if the system was trying to load something, but never managed to, and if someone did get there and attempt to discover what it was, they'd be stopped by something.

There was also no exact way to leave, as no amount of time would allow the players to exit the Mysterious Space. The players could only bite the bullet and go in a random direction until they managed to somehow leave.

In fact, it was believed why this Mysterious Space was so rare and the number of reports on it so low was not because it was actually rare, but because so few people managed to escape, and that most people who got stuck in a Mysterious Space, or suddenly disappeared, and never returned were still stuck in that type of Mysterious Space.

Thirdly, the state of all people who get stuck in a Mysterious Space and leave was discovered and documented. Time is the scariest thing in existence. After all, time could wear down everything, let alone humans.

There were three states the people who leave a Mysterious Space end up in.

In the first state, known as the numbness state, players would become completely emotionless after leaving the Mysterious Space, almost like robots, and nothing would seem to effect them no matter the situation. This was usually a defensive mechanism of the players' mind to protect them from the horrors of the Mysterious Space, and was the state Gentle Snow and Aqua Rose ended up in after spending around eighty years in a Mysterious Space.

Although the state was distressing, it would also usually boost the player's combat standards, and wasn't all that difficult to treat as long as one possessed enough resources.

In the second state, known as the insanity state, players were overwhelmed by the Mysterious Space and didn't enter the numbness state, causing them to turn completely insane. When a player left the Mysterious Space while in the insanity state, they would either curl up in a ball and become a rambling mess too scared to go back into the world again, attack everyone around them like lunatics who had lost their rationality, or become no different than plants and remain completely unresponsive.

For all three cases, unless the person was important and powerful, or was important to someone powerful, and had someone who would look after them, they'd be instantly killed upon discovery of their state. Though, even if there was someone to treat them, recovery wasn't guaranteed, and if it fails, they'd be similarly killed.

In the third state, known as the unaffected state, players wouldn't be all that much affected by the Mysterious Space, and after sorting out their memories and undergoing some treatment, they be pretty much the same as before, with possibly improved combat standards even. This state was usually for people with strong wills who didn't spend a long time in the Mysterious Space, thus managed to stay completely the same and normal.

Because people would practically be taking a random roll every time they entered a Mysterious Space on the type it will be and the state the player would end up in after leaving, no power had ever dared to attempt to use Mysterious Spaces as a training program, as the consequences would be too dire; and if one of their great talents were to end up ruined because of it, they wouldn't even be able to cry tears of regret.

In reality, though, there was a fourth state a person could end up in after leaving a Mysterious Space, only, it was never discovered... well until recently.

This state wasn't completely separate from the other three states, but also wasn't the same. It could even be called a mix of the three other states.

In this state, the player would appear fine on the surface, and would pretend to be fine like they were in the unaffected state, while inside they were dead as stone, or with numerous thoughts and cravings for violence and murder. This was also the most dangerous state a person could end up in, for both themselves and the people around them.

Meanwhile, Feng was a severe case of the fourth, hidden state, as well as one of the reason it was discovered.

After leaving the Mysterious Space he had been stuck in for a period he had long stopped bothering to count and keep track of while in it, Feng attempted to keep calm and pretend like everything was fine and that he was unaffected, while his intrusive thoughts kept telling him to kill and slaughter everything and everyone around him.

Though, Feng kept himself in check and acted completely normal, even too normal, in fact, that some of his guild members started noticing that there was something odd about him, but never bothered to question it further.

Feng controlled himself, and he restrained himself, and he ignored and suppressed all of the thoughts and cravings and demands from his mind to kill and slaughter... until he didn't.

Eventually, he was bound to slip up, and he also wasn't the only one, as there were other people along with him who got stuck in that Mysterious Space. It turned out that the Mysterious Space Feng had gotten stuck in was a bit special, and also seemed to be great at causing people to be in either the second or the fourth state after leaving it.

As for what this Mysterious Space was exactly like, well, there wasn't too big of a difference from most of the other ones. The theme was the same, you hunt, you kill, you die, you do your best to survive; with only one key difference. In all other Mysterious Spaces that had the normal theme, everything would be endless, and the people in it wouldn't get a single second of break time no matter the situation they were in or the goal they had just accomplished, all the way until they leave the Mysterious Space.

On the other hand, the Mysterious Space Feng had been stuck in, which had mostly been war themed and extremely realistic, to the point where even Feng couldn't tell the difference between it and the real world, gave the players in it plenty of rest time between the things they do and the battles they fought. It gave them plenty of time to think things through, gather their thoughts, and think about all the things they've done and lives they've taken during the last battle, along with before that since they entered the Mysterious Space.

In the Mysterious Space and its wars, the people in it had strength similar to in real life, with the maximum in some of them being Basic Tier 1 level strength, and Feng always played a random role in them. From a foot soldier and cannon fodder, to a squad leader, to a commander, Feng was pretty much everything at one point.

Moreover, despite him being fully conscious the entire time of who he was and that he was currently stuck in a Mysterious Space, Feng had never bothered to question any of the situations he found himself in for some reason, and merely followed along with his role in the wars as if it was completely normal and natural.

Though, he remembered sometimes looking over the battlefield he had just fought on after the war was over, at all the corpses of his 'enemies' and 'comrades', who he didn't even really know, with some even being killed by him, and wondering why he was there, and what he was doing.

Those thoughts kept on repeating along with other ones and left him wondering during the breaks he had inbetween all the fighting and killing. With him and his thoughts alone with no one to bother him and having nothing to do except wait, the questions in Feng's mind kept appearing as he wondered and remembered all the things he had done during the wars and all of the lives he had taken.

On some occasions, he even went to some towns for some reason he didn't even understand, and saw the people there. Although he couldn't remember any of their faces, if they even had any he could bother to notice, the cries of grief for the fallen friends and family members still stayed with him, as he wondered whether his killings also elicited the same reactions from some other people.

Although Feng knew very well all of that and everything which results from wars even in the real world, he had never bothered to think about them and truly comprehend the actual results it had on even his comrades, let alone his enemies and the families and friends of the people he had killed, as he had always been too busy with other matters to think about such irrelevant things.

But now, with nothing but his thoughts during the time he wasn't killing and fighting, the reality of everything he had done, and will keep on doing, in both the Mysterious Space and in real life started slowly catching up with him.

The thoughts bugged Feng, made him feel uncomfortable and uncertain, and he wanted them to go away. He'd normally be too distracted and busy to even rest let alone have such thoughts, and now that he had them, Feng wanted them to go away. He wanted the wars and battles to continue, so that he'd be too distracted with fighting to think about these thing, and so that the thought would go away.

Unfortunately, there were constant breaks and pauses in wars, and Feng couldn't simply keep on fighting, so he couldn't make them go away.

As all of those thoughts kept bugging him, Feng's murderous thoughts, intentions and wishes kept on accumulating, as he started craving violence and death. He simply wanted to keep on fighting and distract himself, so that he didn't have to think about these useless things, and made them go away.

Until Feng's murderous thoughts finally spiraled out of control, and he finally snapped.

The thoughts finally went away, and the entire Mysterious Space knew his wrath.

Meanwhile, the reason this particular image of a battlefield stuck out to Feng so vividly is because this was the very place he had finally snapped after around seventy years, after which point he had stopped bothering to count. It was also the place from which point his worst, yet, unnervingly enough, best memories of that Mysterious Space had started forming.

Some sort of power protected the golden gate, and it was impossible to destroy it with external forces. Currently, though, Feng was no longer in the mood to study the images, so he swam towards the keyhole on the gate which he had discovered in his previous life. Meanwhile, this keyhole was centered in an image of the sun. Feng then took out Doren's Key and inserted it into the keyhole, before twisting it.

Upon turning Doren's Key, Feng noticed the blue glow surrounding the key flow into the golden gate. Suddenly, the gate released a brilliant golden radiance. As if it were the sun, the gate illuminated the Eternal Courtyard.

The gate clanked as it slowly opened. Following which, a surge of cold air bubbles rushed out of the gate. Not bothering to move, Feng stayed in place as the cold air rushed out and pushed against him, but was unable to move him for even an inch or cause him any damage.

After the gate finally opened, the cold air scattered, and the spiraling tower was no longer as cold as before. As Feng entered the temple, he was immediately greeted by a large hall containing golden statues of various Ancient Gods.

Among the many statues, there was one particularly eye-catching statue that depicted a valiant man raising up his sword. That man stood in the very center of the hall, and high-grade swords littered the area around him. A simple glance told Feng that there were over a thousand swords stabbed into the ground. Meanwhile, every sword seemed like it was submitting to the man.

Feng could even faintly feel the Abyssal Blade in his hand grow restless as if it, too, wanted to go forth and submit to that man; but unlike in his previous life, though, it was slightly hesitant for some reason.

The Pandemonium Lashblade, however, was completely unaffected by the man as it laid quietly in Feng's sheath, and actually even seemed to be stubbornly resisting.

Though, something that Feng noticed this time, which he did not in his previous life, was that there was an incredible amount of Sword Will flowing around in the temple, especially around the statue of the man holding up a sword. Not only was the Sword Will very large, but also incredibly pure, and even Feng's own Sword Will suddenly became freed because of it.

Meanwhile, a dark blue crystal ball sat below the statue. This crystal ball emitted an intense cold.

Naturally, the reason the pool of water containing the Eternal Courtyard was so cold was that of the crystal ball before him.

Following which, Feng quickly swam towards the crystal ball, and grabbed towards it. As soon as his fingers touched the crystal ball, a bone-shilling cold passed through his hand as it started frosting over while a sharp pain went through his fingers. Ignoring the pain, Feng grabbed the crystal ball and stuffed it into his bag.

As Feng finished collecting the crystal ball, a system notification rang out.

System: The Will of an Ancient God drifts around this Eternal Hall. Are you willing to surrender to this Will?

Before Feng could react, majestic voices suddenly assaulted his mind.

"Submit to me! I can give you unparalleled strength and make you the most powerful man in this world! Even Gods will tremble before your might!"

"Submit to me! I can give you eternal life and make you into the eternal master of this world!"

...

Listening to the tempting voices in his mind, Feng merely grew irritated and looked towards the statue in disdain.

"Fuck off!"

"Foolish mortal!

"You will regret your decision today!

"Since you do not wish to become my servant, die!"

Seeing as it had failed to delude Feng, the Will of the Ancient God grew furious, and the entire hall became stifling.

Suddenly, the thousands of swords that had been thrust into the ground rose into the water. Aiming for Feng, every one of these swords shot towards him.

"Old fossil, don't you understand words? I said fuck off!" Feng broke out of the restraints stopping his movements and pointed his hand towards the incoming swords and the man's statue.

Upon his actions, the thousands of swords shooting towards him slowed down significantly, before eventually stopping and hovering between Feng and the statue, seemingly trembling as they were being pushed from both sides.

"What!?" The Ancient God's Will became shocked upon seeing this scene, but a moment later, it seemed to have realized something and sneered "So what if you can use your will to resist me? You will still die all the same."

As if confirming the Ancient God's Will's words, the swords that were hovering in mid air started moving towards Feng once more. Though, their speed was greatly reduced as they slowly inched closer to Feng.

This surprised Feng. He had already figured out that the Blade Saint's remaining power inside of this temple had released and allowed a large amount of Sword Will to flow through, which its remaining Will was able to use to manipulate and control the thousands of swords. However, this also allowed Feng to use his own Sword Will, which he normally would not be able to do at his current level and tier.

Meanwhile, the strength of someone's Sword Will depended on their experience and mastery over the sword, their own Will, their Concentration and their Mastery. Feng's mastery over the sword had long reached the peak during his previous life, and he already possessed an incredibly powerful Will, along with his Mastery which had reached the Advanced Sword King level. The only problem was his current Concentration, which was quite inadequate to use the full power of his Sword Will and severely limited him.

Still, with his powerful Sword Will, Feng had figured that even if he couldn't easily destroy the Blade Saint's Will, he'd still be able to defeat it with some effort through a battle of Sword Wills. However, looking at the current situation, it would seem Feng had been to naive. He hadn't expected the Blades Saint's remaining Sword Will which he could use to be so powerful, even surpassing his.

Although it could be said that Feng currently couldn't use the full power of his Sword Will at his current standard, the same could be said about the Blade Saint's Will. After all, it was currently only a fragment of its former self, and unable to use its full power as well, yet it could still suppress Feng.

If both Feng and the Blade Saint's Will were to return to their peak, it would remain unknown who would actually win.

Nevertheless, with him unable to use more of his Sword Will at his current standard, Feng was in a bit of a predicament as the thousands of swords inched closer and closer to him. At this rate, even if he didn't get defeated by the Blade Saint's Will and could hold on against it, he'd still eventually run out of Concentration before the Blade Saint's Will, as it still possessed more power than the current Feng.

Moreover, Feng had already pocketed the crystal ball, so it wouldn't be able to save him this time like it did in his previous life if he lost and was about to be killed by the Blade Saint's Will

Thinking of that, Feng quickly surveyed his options, before turning his gaze to the statue of the man holding up a sword. He already knew the remaining power of the Blade Saint that was left in this temple was inside of that statue, and if he destroyed it, it would be his win.

Of course, even under the condition that he had the strength to destroy it, which he did not, Feng was still too preoccupied fighting against the Blade Saint's Sword Will to even switch his attention by much, let alone move and attack the statue. However, he had another method.

A faint, blue glow appeared in Feng's eyes, as the temple's scenery changed from his perspective. A blood red aura could be seen spreading through out the temple as it enveloped the various statues and thousands of swords, while pushing against a faint, weak, blue aura which was on the other side of the thousands of swords, resisting the red aura's attack. Moreover, looking towards where the man's statue was, a small, red fireball burned where the man's chest was, as if it were a heart.

Feng immediately knew this was the Blade saint's soul fragment. Though, even if he knew where it was, he still wasn't able to simply attack, or even reach it, from his position. But there was a method.

Soul Power gathered from Feng's Immortal Soul, before passing through his Sword Will that enveloped the thousands of swords, through the swords, and entered the Blade Saint Will's red Sword Will. A faint blue string of light could be seen moving through the sea of red aura, before moving towards the small red fireball from which the red aura originated from.

The Blade Saint's Will suddenly sensed danger and realized there was a problem, but it was already too late, as the blue string collided with the blood red fireball.

"Ahhh!" A painful scream echoed through out the temple from all directions as cracks started spreading on the red fireball. Although the power of Feng's Immortal Soul usually wouldn't be enough to damage the Blade Saint's soul, even if it was only a fragment, with the Will being distracted and focused on the fight of Sword Wills, as well as using a large amount of energy from its soul to support the fight, Feng was able to deal great damage to the soul.

Using the chance of the Blade Saint's Will being distracted by the soul pain and its soul suddenly being attacked, Feng pushed his Sword Will to the limit and sent it towards the thousands of swords, causing them to spin around and shoot towards the statue.

"NO!" The Will shouted in terror upon seeing the thousands of swords coming at it, but before it could do anything, the thousands of swords stabbed into the statue, turning it into a porcupine while cracks spread all along the statue.

In the next moment, the statue shattered into bits, while the soul fragment followed along with it. With the destruction of the Blade Saint's soul fragment, the Sword Will inside of the temple quickly disappeared, causing Feng's Sword Will to be canceled out and the thousands of swords to fall to the ground.

After which, a loud bang echoed throughout the space of the hall. Black cracks began to appear around the hall, and soon, the space inside the hall shattered as well. Feng immediately activated Wind Rider and quickly flew through the golden gate and out of the freezing pool.

A moment after he was out, the pool of water suddenly exploded.

Feng took in a deep breath after escaping while sweat trickled down his forehead. Apart from having to fight against the Blade Saint's powerful Sword Will, he also had to use his Soul Manipulation ability with maximum power in order to attack the soul fragment, before using his full Sword Will to finish off the Blade Saint's remaining Will. Naturally, this was greatly taxing on Feng's mind and had drained much of his Concentration.

"It's a shame I wasn't able to capture the soul fragment." Even though he had exhausted himself to accomplish his current results, Feng still sighed in regret, as he felt it was a shame that he had to destroy the Blade Saint's soul fragment instead of trapping it into the Pandemonium Lashblade like he did to the Demon God Celestina's.

Though, he shook of the thought a moment later and looked at the Legacy Book.

System: Completion Rate 110%. Do you wish to open the Book of Legacies and accept the Legacy contained within?

"It reached 110%?" Feng was greatly surprised by the Completion Rate, not expecting it to surpass 100%.

Legacies in God's Domain were categorized into different ranks. Similarly, there were differences within each rank, and these differences were based on the Completion Rate of the Legacy Trial.

Completion Rates between 51%~60% would be given a C-rank evaluation. At C-rank, players would obtain the basic skills of the Legacy.

Completion Rates between 61%~70% would be given a B-rank evaluation. At B-rank, players would obtain the basic skills of the Legacy in addition to 1~3 Legacy Skill Points.

Completion Rates between 71%~80% would be given an A-rank evaluation. At A-rank, players would obtain the basic skills of the Legacy in addition to 5~9 Legacy Skill Points.

Completion Rates between 81%~90% would be given an S-rank evaluation. At S-rank, players would obtain the basic skills of the Legacy in addition to 10~18 Legacy Skill Points.

Completion Rates between 91%~100% would be given an SS-rank evaluation. At SS-rank, players would obtain the basic skills of the Legacy in addition to 20~36 Legacy Skill Points.

Meanwhile, after arriving at the Greater God's Domain and obtaining information from it, Feng had learned that SS was not the limit, and that Completion Rates between 101%~110% would be given an SSS-rank evaluation. At SSS-rank, players would obtain the basic skills of the Legacy in addition to 40~72 Legacy Skill Points.

Legacy Skill Points would unlock the Class Skills in the Legacy Book. Moreover, the more powerful a Class Skill was, the more Legacy Skill Points would be required to unlock it.

The number of powerful skills a player possessed was important in determining their combat power. It was especially true for powerful Class Skills.

Hence, Legacy Skill Points were extremely important.

However, it was not easy to obtain Legacy Skill Points. After obtaining the Legacy Book, aside from receiving 1 Legacy Skill Point every three levels, players could only obtain more points by completing special quests and challenges. In general, Legacy Skill Points were an extremely rare commodity.

Moreover, once a player reaches the maximum Completion Rate of a rank, they're guaranteed to gain the maximum number of Legacy Skill Points of that rank; so with a Completion Rate of 110%, Feng was sure to get the maximum number of points for the SSS-rank evaluation.

Without hesitation, Feng clicked "Accept."

The Legacy Book suddenly released a golden flash. The book then flipped open, and a purple ray of light shot out of the book and pierced Feng's forehead. The moment the purple light touched him, Feng felt his mind clear as if no secret in the world could hide from him.

As the Legacy Book faded out of existence, Feng's body began to emit a faint and flickering purple glow. After the flickering continued for a few more seconds, the purple glow subsided, and Feng returned to normal.

System: Congratulations on obtaining one of the Ten Great Saint Legacies. Rewarding 20 Free Mastery Points.

System: Congratulations on becoming a Tier 1 Blade Saint. Rewarding Blade Saint title.

[Blade Saint]

All Attributes +20

All Resistances +15

Attack Power increased by 15%.

Attack Speed increased by 20%.

All Attributes increased by 30%.

Although Feng has promoted to Tier 1, the attribute boost wasn't all that significant considering his current ones. Moreover, after being promoted to a Tier 1 class, players could receive 8 Free Attribute Points with each level up, whereas Tier 0 classes would only receive 4 Free Attribute Points.

Feng also had the Abyssal Blade, which provided him with two additional Free Attribute Points every time he leveled. The Purple Stigmata also increased all of his Basic Attributes by 20 points and gave him 40 Free Attribute Points with every increase in 5 Levels, while the Creation Goddess's Blessing increased all of his Basic Attributes by 30 points and gave him 50 Free Attribute Points with every increase in 5 Levels.

In other words, where other Tier 1 players would receive a total of 40 Attribute Points with each five levels, Feng would receive a total of 390 points. No player could compete with Feng.

Instead, what Feng valued was the hidden boost to his Physique, Stamina, Concentration and Fortitude, as well as him getting access to the Blade Saint Legacy's skills, of which he gained two Basic Skills and one Passive Skill after completing his Class Change .

Following which, Feng called up the system interface.

There was now a new tab called "Legacy Skills Menu" in the system menu. Selecting this tab, the Legacy Skill Menu that appeared reported that Feng had 407 Legacy Skill Points available, as well as plenty of skills that he could learn.

There were over a hundred skills listed in the menu. However, there were only six Tier 1 skills Feng could learn right now, and 2 Legacy Skill Points were required to unlock a Tier 1 Basic Legacy Skill.

However, even though he had enough Legacy Skill Points to get all of the skills currently available to him, Feng chose to only learn Blade Liberation, which cost him 20 Legacy Skill Points, and didn't bother with the rest.

After all, they were only Tier 1 skills, and Feng didn't want to waste any of his precious Legacy Skill Points on skills weaker than the power he could achieve with only a single finger. Thus, Feng had decided long ago that he would save up all of his Legacy Skill Points for the Blade Saint Legacy's Tier 5 and Tier 6 skills; except for Berserk skills like Blade Liberation which would be very useful to him even when only at Tier 1.
