--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deciding to risk it regardless of the potential consequences, Feng selected the Limitless Boots and clicked to equip the Fragmented Divine Artifact.
System: Would you like to challenge the Heavy Star Celestial Trial and become the owner of the Limitless Boots?
"Yes!"
The moment Feng gave his confirmation, the air in the surroundings changed, becoming many times heavier as if someone had turned up the gravity by several notches.
Feng, though, didn't seem all that affected, the increased gravity barely putting any pressure on him as the Tier 1 Swordsman only felt like the gravitational force pulling downwards had gone back to normal without Aetherial Levity's effects.
As he had suspected, the immense pressure that would normally be crushing Feng only slightly hindered his movements thanks to the Space Helmet reaching Legendary rank.
Of course, this was only the beginning.
It didn't take long for the pressure to multiply by several times, and apart from feeling the gravity affecting his physical body increase bit by bit, Feng's mind and soul also began to experience the Heavy Star Celestial Trial.
Thankfully, Feng's Concentration was already at around the Tier 4 Peak standard, and he had both a powerful will and techniques like Divine Change to combat the mental pressure to a certain extent, while the Ghost Tree, which is still staying on his soul ever since he first activated the Profound Inheritance, was taking the brunt of the gravitational pressure affecting his soul, so this was far from Feng's limit.
He could definitely feel it much more vividly now, though, especially the pressure on his soul even with the Ghost Tree tanking it.
Thankfully, alongside putting pressure on the Ghost Tree, Feng's soul itself, and the Chibi Sharlyn inside it, the Heavy Star Celestial Trial also affected the Power of Darkness attacking his soul, weakening it enough so that it didn't put Feng in any additional danger that way.
As time passed, the gravity affecting Feng increased by leaps and bounds, rising by dozens of gs with each second until even the space around him began to crack from the intense gravitational force.
However, Celestina's words were confirmed since it was basically just a powerful pressure that made up the trial without anything complex about it.
The only problematic part was the sheer power of that gravity and how intense it was. Even the Law of Gravity was beginning to be added by a minuscule amount after the Heavy Star Celestial Trial went on for more than ten minutes.
But Feng's newly upgraded Space Helmet had practically trivialized the entire thing, definitely not being the way this tribulation was meant to be passed since the gravitational force that should be capable of even killing Tier 6 players was not able to do Feng in.
Since it was still the power of a top-tier Fragmented Divine Artifact, the Limitless Boots were capable of putting a great deal of pressure on Feng despite the Space Helmet's power that should make any additional gravity completely ineffective against the wearer, making it difficult to stand under the immense gravity projected by the boots.
Naturally though, the Heavy Star Celestial Trial didn't exercise the Limitless Boots' full power, only a significant portion of it to test the wanna-be wearer. Hence, a Legendary item of the Space Helmet's nature and power is capable of mostly neutralizing the trial, while the remaining pressure was something Feng could handle after activating the Bible of Darkness's Power of Darkness along with Mysticsteel Body.
This left Feng quite confident in passing the trial and wielding the Limitless Boots, having seen the very high chance of succeeding from the doppelganger's Precursor's Glimpse.
When the Heavy Star Celestial Trial passed the fourteen-minute mark, however, things took a turn.
Suddenly, Feng collapsed to the floor, no longer able to support his weight after a sudden increase in pressure that nearly flattened him akin to a pancake with blood syrup.
Although Feng attempted to push himself up, it was like the crushing weight of an entire planet had been placed on top of his back, leaving him incapable of moving or rising in the least, and even the ground of the Legendary Shrine beneath Feng began to crack.
Within a moment, Feng felt that his resistance was futile, and as the powerful gravity nearly crushed him against the crumbling ground, his HP began to drop.
At a rapid pace, too, while Feng's body was beginning to break under the extreme pressure.
This was no longer simply a gravitational force that put increased weight on Feng, but a force directed at his very being, which his means were barely reducing.
After all, Feng still only had the body of a Tier 1 being regardless of his attributes or Physique, so at a fundamental level, the pressure currently weighing down on him was something that could crush him.
The sudden change by itself would not make that much of a drastic difference to anybody else who was taking on the Heavy Star Celestial Trial since, without the Space Helmet, only those with the power of a Tier 6 God would even stand a chance at making it this far, so this increase that affects their very being would only up the pressure by a bit and create an uncomfortable situation where those weaklings barely holding on would get weeded out.
But Feng's situation was extraordinarily unique, and this increase turned the situation from decent to I'm fucked in an instant.
If not for him possessing two extremely powerful Bloodlines, along with all the other minor boosts that improved his state, Feng would have instantly died upon the change.
Hastily activating Ultimate Blood Flow to recover his lost HP, Feng struggled a lot to move his hand and reached down for the Spatial Bag on his waist, wishing to take out whatever item could make this situation more survivable.
However, a notification from the system informing Feng that opening his bag space would immediately deactivate the Heavy Star Celestial Trial and render all his progress null made the Tier 1 Swordsman realize he couldn't get out of the current predicament so easily.
With nothing else that could be of assistance against this new type of gravitational pressure since any skill that would provide any help was either on cooldown or not allowed similar to using items from his bag, Feng's only remaining choice was to simply push through and survive on sheer willpower.
Doing his best to resist the pressure using his regular strength, Feng began executing Divine Change at the standard of a Silver Combat Technique as much as possible in hopes of it reducing some of the burden.
Seconds felt like hours for Feng while feeling like he was going to be crushed at any moment, barely remaining alive under the immense pressure as his HP decreased like flowing water and the bones throughout his entire body began to crack.
Within a minute, the rising pressure became too much for Feng's body to bear, coming to a breaking point with even his HP dropping too much for Ultimate Blood Flow and Life Domain to heal quickly enough.
Before Feng could die, though, all the pressure suddenly disappeared, that immense gravity being no more while Feng felt as light as a feather once again.
System: You have successfully passed the Heavy Star Celestial Trial.
Despite surviving the tribulation that he should have had no business challenging in the first place and coming out alive, Feng did not move for some time after the gravitational force was released.
Only after a few minutes of lying in a near-death state did he retrieve a few Consumables and potions from his bag to recover from the huge damage his body had sustained as well as the expended Stamina and Concentration.
Sitting back up, Feng pulled up the Limitless Boots' System Panel and gave the confirmation to equip them, finally being able to put on the boots since he had passed the trial.
Immediately upon equipping them, an immense strength filled Feng's body, giving it an enormous jump in power.
A Fragmented Divine Artifact was no joke, especially a piece of equipment of the Limitless Boots' caliber. The boost Feng received pushed his already high level of strength to a higher level, with all his stats receiving a very noticeable change.
Setting aside the stuff he couldn't utilize and his increased Mana, just the boost to Feng's attributes was gigantic.
Feng's Physique had reached fairly high in the Tier 5 Intermediate standard after all the increases, though that was very low considering Feng's current equipment and other potential boosts like his Bloodlines due to the limitations of Feng's regular low-ranking Physique and Tier.
His Concentration had risen as well, nearly breaking through to the Tier 5 standard. However, regardless of how large the Limitless Boots' increase was, it was only able to improve Feng's existing Concentration without other improvements, which was low-ranking, so the boost he received was not enough to cross that threshold.
Meanwhile, the greatest change Feng received was to his Basic Attributes, the Fragmented Divine Artifact having transformed them greatly despite Feng already possessing insanely high attributes.
Just the raw ten thousand or so points that he received was enough for a qualitative transformation, much less the percentage increase in Feng's attributes. They were far in the Tier 6 standard.
Feng's Strength and Agility, in particular, had passed the 230,000-point mark [1].
Unfortunately, Feng didn't find it something to be all that excited about. Regardless of how high his attributes got, Feng's mere Tier 1 body didn't allow him to freely use them, and he was also limited to his Physique, so it didn't really matter for Feng whether he had the strength of a Tier 6 player or if he raised to rival Primordial Gods.
He was currently only able to use attributes at the Tier 5 standard lest his body breaks under the extraordinary stress of greater power. Even throwing out attacks with Tier 5 Peak power would be quite difficult with Feng still being Tier 1.
Hence, the strength Feng could exercise had not increased by the heaven-defying amount one would expect it to after equipping a powerful Fragmented Divine Artifact.
Furthermore, even his attributes at the moment fell far short for Feng's needs.
Any random Tier 6 God would have their main, if not most, attributes higher than 250,000 points.
The difference between 230 and 250 thousand may not seem too huge at first glance, but it was an attribute difference akin to the gap between a newly promoted Tier 5 player and a player who had just logged into God's Domain for the first time.
Therefore, even if Feng could use all his attributes properly, although the exchange would be different with both parties having high attributes and Feng bridging it with techniques, he'd easily get smacked to death by a God just in attributes without even considering all the other factors one would be vastly superior to him in.
Furthermore, a Tier 6 natural-born God would naturally be considerably stronger even if it only just ascended to godhood.
These numbers vary significantly depending on each individual God. The one Feng was planning to face could have attributes ranging anywhere between 300,000 and 450,000 points depending on their constitution, progress, the equipment they possess, overall individual strength, along with several other factors.
Feng didn't think that the Tier 6 natural-born God he'll face for his God Mode Tier 2 Promotion Quest will be among the higher echelons of natural-born Gods, or Tier 6 in general, since the Quest would otherwise be completely impossible regardless of who challenged.
Still, it was far above anything Feng could manage at the moment.
After all, setting aside the enormous gap in attributes, Feng's actual ability to damage higher-ranking beings was very low due to him still being only Tier 1, much less something at Tier 6.
Improving his attributes would be useless since it did not matter how much Feng increased them when his damage-dealing capabilities against Gods were nonexistent.
It was like throwing a small rock at an enemy. Regardless of how hard one throws it, a rock is still only a rock. It couldn't do much to something truly sturdy and solid; at most just piercing through or causing surface-level damage due to the strength and speed it was thrown at.
Moreover, if he threw it that hard as a regular human, his arm would break from the force.
As players rose in tiers, they'd refine their ability to do damage through Mana and other improvements that stemmed from higher tiers, turning their rock larger, stronger, and transforming it into iron, metal, a bullet, and so on stronger materials and weapons for doing damage.
One's arm would also grow stronger in order to accompany and bear the force, becoming a cannon barrel.
Eventually, one's attacks become shooting exploding lasers going at the speed of light and shot out of a spaceship. Metaphorically.
Feng couldn't easily achieve a transformation without first upgrading his tier, but he needed such power so that he could promote himself to Tier 2. Thus, a paradox of Feng's weakness is created.
Thankfully, there are certain items and means for even Tier 1 players to slightly improve in this aspect, while through his foundation and planning, Feng has already reached far into his preparation to wholly upgrade and transform his damage-dealing capabilities to a level where even a Tier 6 God would not be able to simply shake off his attacks.
In fact, after having obtained the necessary items from the Jinxed Orbs, apart from needing Black Flame to fulfill his part of the plan for the Legendary Shrines, Feng will be able to begin the last step of all those preparations.
For now, though, he'll just have to make do with what he has, moving forward with their other plans to increase his power and chances, which was going swimmingly after Feng had successfully cleared both the God Mode World Summit Trial and the Swifth Fortuitous Death challenge; having gained quite the haul from the latter.
Feng even managed to equip the Limitless Boots thanks to the challenge's fortunes promoting two of his equipment into Legendary items, and although Feng couldn't really use the attributes he got from the Fragmented Divine Artifact at the moment, its abilities were another matter.
The Limitless Boots' skills were extraordinary and would greatly increase Feng's combat power by a heaven-defying amount.
Even skills like Vector Shift and Aeon Glide are of quite good use despite the Space Helmet's effects in gravity due to the difference in rank between it and the Limitless Boots.
But the Fragmented Divine Artifact's Profound Inheritance was by far the most valuable of them all. With it, Feng even posed a genuine threat to Tier 6 Gods.
Of course, his low tier still greatly limited Feng in his possible usage of such high-ranking skills, and he would not be able to bring out their full power and potential.
Nevertheless, it had definitely paid off to risk attempting the Heavy Star Celestial Trial in spite of the danger and Feng almost dying.
The only shame was that Feng no longer had Phantom Stride.
Even if it was only a skill from a Fragmented Legendary item, its effects were amazing and could be used in all sorts of ways. For example, like how the Trial Creatures had shot volleys upon volleys of Drago Busters at Feng and Celestina.
Its potential was unfortunately limited by the Boots of Slaughter's rank, and even if Feng were to upgrade it higher, there was no way he would pick them over the Limitless Boots.
And since switching out equipment in the middle of a fight would be quite inefficient and very dangerous just to use a skill against an enemy that required Phantom Stride, it was unlikely Feng would use it again.
As that thought crossed Feng's mind, though, he suddenly remembered something. Pulling out an item out of his bag, Feng held a metallic device that was nearly as tall as him.
It stood on three metal legs that came together to hold up a pole which separated at the top into two purple canisters the size of a door, being big enough for a person to fit inside them each.
[E.Mixer Fusion] (Consumable, Inferior Divine Artifact Rank)
Fuse a sacrificial item into another item for it to inherit the sacrificial item's power and abilities. However, there is a large chance of the fusion failing and the sacrificial item being destroyed. Chance of success increases along with the compatibility between the two items.
A maximum of ten fusions can be done (5/10 fusions remaining), and each fusion requires one Plasma Science (1 Plasma Science remaining).
With the last item Feng had gained before triggering another Bye-bye, it was no longer fully necessary for him to give up on Phantom Stride.
Feng had heard of the E.Mixer Fusion during the previous timeline after one player obtained it, learning it to be a very valuable Consumable.
If one had two items whose traits, effects, or abilities one wanted to use at the same time but couldn't, it is possible to combine them with the E.Mixer Fusion and have the best of both worlds.
However, there are risks that come with attempting the fusion. The chance of it failing and one of the items being completely destroyed is quite high, so in order to have the highest probability of success, one should only use items of the same type.
If one tried to fuse a sword and a chestplate, the fusion was practically guaranteed to fail. Same went for any combination of weapons, equipment, Consumables, materials, Skill Books, or special items.
Additionally, the higher the ranking of the items was, the lower the chance they had of successfully completing the process, with the maximum being Fragmented Divine Artifact rank for either of the items.
When it came to the Limitless Boots and the Boots of Slaughter, Feng had a decent amount of confidence in fusing them.
One item would typically be weaker and offered as the sacrificial item that's to be fused into the other so it gains some of the sacrificed item's abilities in order to have the highest chance of success, and although both of his pair of boots were fairly high-ranking, there was a gap of two ranks and a big difference in quality, so offering the Fragmented Legendary Boots as the sacrificial item had a large chance of success in the other pair inheriting some of its abilities.
Since both items were boots and the Limitless Boots had no specific type of armor, it would be just as compatible with Plate Armor as it would with any other; which would not be the case if Feng were to attempt fusing the Boots of Slaughter with a Leather or Cloth Armor type of boots.
Furthermore, they did not differ in elements or any other traits and factors, one being attributed to the element of gravity and the other simply being pure weapons for killing.
Of course, the process could still fail, in which case the Boots of Slaughter would be lost forever. Even if Feng himself would not use them, someone else in the guild could equip the Fragmented Legendary equipment and receive a large boost in combat power, so it would still be a loss.
Before Feng could ponder on it for longer, he remembered that he could see the future.
Immediately activating Phantom Kill, Feng shared his senses with the doppelganger and had it use Precursor's Glimpse.
Dismissing the doppelganger after a few moments, Feng had no hesitation this time as he put the Boots of Slaughter in one of the purple canisters and the Limitless Boots inside of the other. Designating each item's position in the fusion, Feng activated Divine Providence and chose to use the E.Mixer Fusion.
The loud sound of a machine booting up and clanking was heard for nearly ten seconds from the E.Mixer Fusion as the two canisters spun and shone with a bright purple light, calming down and going back to their previous deactivated state upon the process finishing.
Both canisters then opened, one now completely empty while within the other sat a pair of boots that resembled miniature black holes.
However, there were a few noticeable changes to the Limitless Boots, as they now gave off a sharp feeling and were surrounded with a faint red hue.
Pulling up the Fragmented Divine Artifact's System Panel, Feng witnessed the effects of fusing using the E.Mixer Fusion with the Boots of Slaughter as the sacrificial item.

The Limitless Boots were worn by the Master of Infinity and had kept him undefeated in many situations. He was killed by Demon Empress Celestina using a slash that cut reality, damaging the Limitless Boots in the process and causing their power to drastically decrease, but they still possess the absolute power of ultimate gravity. One must pass the Heavy Star Celestial Trial of the Limitless Boots before being able to wear them and gain their power of Gravity. Adventurer Ye Feng passed the Heavy Star Celestial Trial and became their wearer. Afterwards, the Fragmented Legendary ranked Boots of Slaughter were fused into the Limitless Boots, giving them new power. In order to recover their power, the Limitless Boots need to absorb one Bloodlust Stone, four World Cores, and one Super Nova Source. Current restoration (0/6).
As Feng had hoped and focused Probability Manipulation for, the Limitless Boots had gained Phantom Stride from the Boots of Slaughter, the skill having slightly changed as it grew more powerful and had a longer duration, but its cooldown having greatly increased as well.
Apart from that, the Fragmented Divine Artifact had gained a slight boost to its attributes along with some effects and the Killer Aura Passive Skill.
Overall, it was an amazing result that greatly benefited Feng, making E.Mixer Fusion a very lucky draw.
Its value was evident and Feng would like to be able to fuse more items this way to boost their power, but he had no idea how to obtain Plasma Science, so the Inferior Divine Artifact Consumable wasn't usable anymore until he found some more.
Apart from the E.Mixer Fusion, Feng had obtained plenty of other Consumables from the Jinxed Orbs, the majority being Legendary rank, a few of them at Inferior Divine Artifact rank including one Exotic Butter, and even two Divine Artifact Consumables.
Each of their value was very high, and apart from the incomparably precious Divine Artifact ranked Consumables as well as the E.Mixer Fusion, the one Feng considered the most important among the batch he had obtained were the Legendary Consumables Sacred Source Diamond and Threefold Boom.
Similar to a Sacred Source Crystal, a Sacred Source Diamond was capable of upgrading an item's rank, but instead of just improving it to Fragmented Legendary rank, the Legendary Consumable could upgrade most items to Legendary rank.
Compared to a Sacred Source Crystal that could only create Fragmented Legendary items, the Sacred Source Diamond's value was dozens of times more valuable.
Legendary items were rare items with high demand no matter where one went, and having a chance to create and wield a Legendary item that was compatible with oneself was something anybody would be willing to pay any price for unless they were fully geared in Fragmented Divine Artifacts.
But such individuals were very rare even in the Universal God's Domain, so a Sacred Source Diamond would always be fiercely fought and competed for whenever it appeared.
Meanwhile, Feng had obtained two Sacred Source Diamonds out of the four that were among the two hundred fortune Jinxed Orbs. His luck was through the roof.
Moreover, Threefold Boom was also a Legendary Consumable that could upgrade the rank of an item, improving it by one up to a maximum of Legendary rank.
Though, the difference between a Threefold Boom and a Sacred Source Diamond was that the latter's improvement was a direct increase in rank that merely brought along all the boosts of turning into a Legendary item with some minor additional improvements, whereas the former was akin to upgrading an item the normal way and gaining all the benefits an item should to reaching Legendary rank.
Thus items upgraded through a Threefold Boom would be considerably more powerful and advanced, making the Legendary Consumable far more sought after than Sacred Source Diamond. Furthermore, Threefold Boom could upgrade the rank of three items before being used up, so its value was far higher than Sacred Source Diamonds'; being comparable to the value of around five diamonds.
Of course, they were far rarer as well, and Feng had lucked out by acquiring the singular one that existed within the Jinxed Orbs.
The Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine was one of Feng's main sources for things that could upgrade items to Legendary rank without taking into account something like the Holy Grail.
He hadn't previously been worried about further upgrading Icarus's Heart and his other high-quality items because Feng knew how incredible the Legendary Shrine was.
This became quite apparent from the fact Feng had obtained so many precious treasures just among the Consumables.
When taking into account everything Feng had obtained as of yet, his gains were shocking even among what one could gain even in some of the most highly regarded opportunities of a similar nature, and it was obvious why the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine was considered to be such a treasure trove.
Out of the 177 Jinxed Orbs that Feng had picked up and seen be opened, 97 turned out to contain fortunes and 80 had misfortunes; making him quite lucky. Plenty of the good things he acquired were also the best and most valuable out of the possible fortunes, further enriching Feng.
The most eye-catching and attention-drawing among them were definitely the Fragmented Divine Artifacts around which a stupendous amount of Mana gathered.
On the list of fortunes that had been created during the previous timeline, it was documented that there were twelve Fragmented Divine Artifact ranked items among the Jinxed Orbs, and Feng had obtained seven of them.
Each of the seven treasures radiated powerful auras and Divine Might that could freeze regular players in place, causing the Fragmented Divine Artifacts to often be perceived as the most precious within the Shrine.
They were a two-handed broadsword, a one-handed axe, Leather Armor Wrist Guards, a Cloth Armor Helmet, a Tool, and two items.
Although not one of the Fragmented Divine Artifacts was of low quality, and all seven were valuable beyond measure that anyone would try their best to get their hands on, to Feng, setting aside that he couldn't equip any of the equipment due to Tier Requirements, the last two were the best and most important among them.
In fact, one of them was the item Feng wanted to get the most and among the main reasons he had wanted to attempt the Swift Fortuitous Death challenge aside from all the other goodies.
It was a fleshy-red cube that perfectly fit in Feng's palm, giving off an oppressive aura. There were several half-opened eyes across its surface, two to three being on each side.
[Prison Realm[2]] (Fragmented Divine Artifact Item)
Active Skill: Sealing Gate
Designate a target within 30 yards and seal it inside the Prison Realm. Target can be anything that contains Mana. Only one target can be sealed at any given time.
Activation Time: 1 minute
Cooldown: 1 day
A Divine Artifact created by the First Demon Emperor before his retirement. The Prison Realm had been used in ancient times to seal the Goddess of Life after Demon Empress Celestina and the God Slayer failed to kill her. She escaped once the Prison Realm became damaged during the Great Destruction. In order to repair the Prison Realm to Divine Artifact rank one must repair its sealing space with five Space-Time Manipulation Coals. Current restoration (0/5).
This was the most important item for Feng which he had desired from the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine.
It was an invaluable asset to Feng since the Prison Realm could seal basically anything that possessed Mana inside it, and aside from needing it soon for one of his future plans, the Fragmented Divine Artifact was also a contingency.
With the Prison Realm, Feng could be a lot more relaxed as it could allow him to more appropriately deal with two of the most troublesome factors among his combat force.
At its current rank and power, the Prison Realm was perfectly capable of sealing Lancelot should the need ever arise to neutralize the Awakened if Feng did not want to kill his brand new Mythical Personal Guard.
After all, even with their mutual deal, Awakeneds were far too dangerous to simply work alongside, and Feng couldn't guarantee with complete certainty that Lancelot might do something to get past their contract's conditions to some degree that he did not wish to use.
In such a scenario, killing Lancelot would normally be the only solution since fully restraining such a being would be far too difficult even for Feng. However, although Feng was naturally prepared for that and would not hesitate to end the Awakened should it become necessary, losing Lancelot would be a massive loss for Feng.
Therefore, the Prison Realm was a vital tool for the purpose of avoiding such an outcome. It was no weaker than the Obelisk Lancelot had previously been sealed inside of, being even far more effective when it came to the sealing aspect.
At Divine Artifact rank, the Prison Realm was capable of sealing even Primordial Gods, and practically anything with even a minuscule amount of Mana inside it was not safe from the cube.
Only beings who had completely mastered a Half-step Rule would be capable of resisting and escaping the Divine Artifact Prison Realm. Moreover, that was under the condition they were prepared and reacted in time before they were sealed.
If one such being was weakened by a significant amount beforehand, it might fail to escape its sealing space since the Prison Realm would also seal all of the target's abilities upon them being trapped inside it.
Though, entities like peak Celestina or those who possessed Surpasser Divine Bodies with a Half-step Rule integrated would still be capable of escaping the Prison Realm regardless of the situation as long as they exerted some effort.
At the moment, the Prison Realm was only a Fragmented Divine Artifact ranked item, so it would have trouble sealing a Primordial God, but most Ancient Gods would not have the power to resist the sealing once the gate was closed on them. Even natural-born Gods that had reached the standard of Ancient Gods would not necessarily be safe.
Lancelot was an Awakened, so the High Elf had a much higher resistance to things like sealing items than beings of the same tier, or even a tier higher.
Nonetheless, there would be no way for Lancelot to escape the Prison Realm once it was fully activated. This would not change even if the Awakened reached Tier 5.
In the event it became necessary, Feng could seal Lancelot inside the Prison Realm without much trouble since between himself, Celestina, and the items he had gathered, keeping the Awakened within range for the activation time was perfectly manageable.
Apart, from Lancelot, though, another slightly concerning person could also be handled using the Prison Realm.
Feng had never let his guard down against Black Flame ever since creating the Perfect Clone, keeping a casual attitude whilst always paying some amount of attention to what the clone was doing and his behavior. The only exception had been when Feng had suffered damage to his soul and fell into Sleep Mode.
Even though it was his own clone, Feng could not be too relaxed around Black Flame due to it also copying his personality that refused to be controlled by anyone. Feng didn't doubt the clone had some reservations about their current situation and was internally scheming.
Losing the Perfect Clone was not something Feng could afford considering Black Flame's value to him and the amount of Seven Luminaries Crystals he had spent to create Black Flame as well as update the clone.
However, should the situation devolve into a state where Black Flame became hostile, Feng would have to either erase the cloned consciousness or completely eliminate the other him.
Now, though, Feng had another option to handle Black Flame in case he went rogue without suffering any losses, sealing the clone and finding a way to fix the situation.
Achieving that wouldn't be too difficult either since Feng could still overpower the clone with his strength, items, and Celestina.
The Prison Realm could thus come in use for multiple developments, along with Feng needing it for his future plans, and it would be quite useful if he faced an enemy that he couldn't handle properly.
Its only flaw was the small range and considerable activation time.
Against enemies that would require Feng to use the Prison Realm, it was unlikely he could keep them within thirty yards of the Fragmented Divine Artifact, which could not be moved after activation, for an entire minute. The fight itself would probably cause them to get out of range, and if the target grew aware of the Prison Realm, trapping them would be impossible.
Maybe in some specific situations, the cube could come into play, but otherwise, Feng could only use it for his current plans. Nonetheless, the Prison Realm was still of immense value, and Feng would definitely greatly profit thanks to it even without the sealing item serving as a contingency for Lancelot and Black Flame.
Feng's second Fragmented Divine Artifact whose value and potential benefits were only second to the Prison Realm was a rather unique item.
Black ancient patterns spread across a blood-red item that greatly resembled a pistol as Feng held it. But unlike an actual handgun, it had a thin design with a cylinder that extended out and had six chambers inside it for bullets.
It reminded Feng of the revolvers he had seen in very old movies from around two centuries ago, which was practically ancient history for Feng. Though, the full design was a bit different, and the pistol seemed a lot more malevolent.
[Red Roulette] (Fragmented Divine Artifact Item)
A dangerous artifact from an unknown era. Those who had sought the relic's power and attempted to use it for themselves have all had their fates ruined and faced the ultimate price.
Active Skill 1: Gambler's Shot
Choose between one to five Death Bullets or Life Bullets to be placed inside the roulette's chamber and attempt to guess which shots are safe after it's spun by either pointing the muzzle at oneself or at the sky before pulling the trigger. If the player gets hit by a Death Bullet, they will die and enter a Weakened state for five days as well as permanently lose 10% of all Basic Attributes. If the player gets hit by a Life bullet, they will receive rewards depending on the number of both types of bullets chosen. A shot must be fired at least once every ten seconds or the player automatically loses. Each individual can only play three games of Gambler's Shot, and the number of Death Bullets must increase if possible for each round, with the penalties from Death Bullets increasing and the rewards from Life Bullets decreasing per each round.
Cooldown: 10 days
Active Skill 2: Buckshot Roulette [3]
Enter a high stakes game with up to three other individuals. With all players consent, a random amount of Death Bullets are placed in the roulette and each person gets a choice to fire at themselves or another player, repeating the process whenever bullets run out. If a person is struck by three Death Bullets, they die and suffer a penalty. The last player alive is the winner, stealing 5% of all other player's attributes and one skill or item of choice. A winner can not receive attributes from each loser more than once.
Each time Buckshot Roullette is activated, all players participating receive a permanent stack of Buck Luck, decreasing their Luck by 5 points for five days and causing their Luck to permanently decrease by 1 point every 48 hours that they don't play a round of Buckshot Roulette.
Cooldown: 1 hour
When Feng had read Red Roulette's skill descriptions that were practically game instruction manuals, he could not help growing shocked.
Although the rank and names of all items obtained from the Jinxed Orbs were recorded on the fortune list for the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine, the descriptions and abilities of high-ranking items were something players kept to themselves more often than not.
Thus, despite having heard of Red Roulette and news that it possessed some kind of heaven-defying power having spread across the Greater God's Domain, neither Feng nor most other players actually knew what it was or anything about the abilities this legendary Fragmented Divine Artifact possessed.
Only a few core members of the Upper-ranking Hegemonic Power that obtained Red Roulette were privy to its details.
Holding the bloody revolver in his own hands and seeing what it was capable of, Feng finally understood why that guild had suddenly received an enormous spike in power, later on becoming a Pseudo-Apex Power.
Even though it had a few restrictions and heavy penalties, a large and organized group of people could still easily abuse the mechanics of a skill like Buckshot Roulette to reap enormous benefits for themselves.
Of course, there was a need to have sacrificial players who had to be compensated in order for any sane individual to entertain the thought of playing such a penalizing game, and there was also the big risk of betrayal, not to mention the cost of playing a game of Buckshot Roulette, but the potential gains one could make far outweighed those cons.
And going by how that guild had received a huge surge of power with many new powerful experts emerging from it after acquiring the Fragmented Divine Artifact, it would seem that the Upper-ranking Hegemonic Power had handled and taken advantage of the revolver quite well.
Now, however, Feng was in possession of Red Roulette. He couldn't use Buckshot Roulette to the same degree due to there not being players who he was both willing to make play as essentially a sacrifice and would actually stand to gain anything from.
Feng's current strong guild members were the restored players who are currently necessary for the guild's development and its foundation, while all the others were far too weak for it to be worth playing Buckshot Roulette and taking their attributes and skills when he'd also suffer from it.
Permanently losing five points of Luck per game was a grievous price even for only a couple of days, especially when he'd also be forced to play another round every day.
There were naturally ways to get rid of the Buck Luck stacks, and Feng was capable of getting rid of them should the need to play it come about, but right now, it would definitely not be worth the effort.
Gambler's Shot is another story though.
Red Roulette's first skill had a heavier penalty and was much more dangerous than the second, which could be controlled as long as one wasn't competing against an enemy, while its rewards weren't specified and depended on the level of risk one was willing to take.
Few would ever be willing to attempt Gambler's Shot because of the low chance of success if they went big and due to the Death Bullet's penalty.
Whether they die or get some potentially good reward was entirely based on chance, and Luck would not really be able to change anything regardless of how high due to there not being something the Hidden Attribute could target and improve due the bullets getting randomly placed within the chambers.
After all, Luck allowed the Main God's System to influence some results depending on the amount and situation, with which it then determined how to increase drops or what one gets from chests, or change things to be better for the player in certain situations like for Fulljoy and Yewel Gift.
But it's not actual, genuine luck. The system's effects had no idea which one you were going to fire at yourself during Gambler's Shot and therefore can not make adjustments to benefit the player.
It depended entirely on the player's actual luck to not choose the one with the Death Bullet and get shot. That was a fickle thing, unfortunately, and someone unlucky enough could very well choose the easiest mode with one Death Bullet and still die to it on the first shot depending on their choice.
Too big of a risk for many experts considering the unknown rewards, so Buckshot Roulette was the safer option.
The only way someone could actually try a dangerous mode of Gambler's Shot with multiple Death Bullets without simply risking it on blind luck was if a player could see the future and know which chambers were death and which ones were safe.
Feng had such means. There would not be any danger whatsoever if he relied on Precursor's Glimpse to see the future and find out which chamber held the Life Bullet even on the hardest difficult with five Death Bullets.
He could easily get the highest possible reward from the Fragmented Divine Artifact. However, Feng chose not to use it now since, aside from his Precursor's Glimpse still being on cooldown, it would be much more profitable for him to do it later once his plans fully come into place.
Despite all the incredible things Feng had received thus far such as two Fulljoys, three Yewel Gifts, loads of high-ranking Consumables, being able to equip and improve the Limitless Boots, and seven great Fragmented Divine Artifacts among which were treasures like the Prison Realm and Red Roulette, it was far from the end when it came to his gains.
Looking at it from a certain perspective, the most valuable fortune that Feng received from the Jinxed Orbs was not any of the Fragmented Divine Artifacts or blessings, but the Divine Treasure Chest he had obtained.
Divine Treasure Chests could rival Inferior Mythical Treasure Chests from which one could easily get a Fragmented Divine Artifact or something of equivalent or higher value, or even a Divine Artifact.
Even with only one item within it, the Treasure Chest was still more valuable than a Fragmented Divine Artifact.
Although this Divine Chest was not on the same level as Celestina's Empress Treasure Chest nor was at a high ranking one on par with Inferior Mythical ones, it was still better than a Legendary Treasure Chest; ranging somewhere between the two ranks.
There were also two Legendary Treasure Chests among Feng's haul, having gained half of the ones residing within the Shrine, as well as one Inferior Legendary Treasure Chest from the three that existed.
Extremely valuable treasures were abundant among the items that Feng had gained from the Jinxed Orbs, including two Peak Legacies, one a Basic and the other an Intermediate level Peak Legacy, out of the Legendary Shrines three Legacies, a high-quality Peak Bloodline compared to a few of the ones on the Divine Shrine's Advanced Menu so it's value was high even if it wasn't the best of the three Peak Bloodlines one could get from the Jinxed Orbs, one of two Inferior Legendary Spatial Bags, a Tier 5 Mysterious Flame of the Shrine's two, three Tier 4 Mysterious Flames out of five, as well as a large variety of Legendary items among which was a Legendary Ring that Feng chose to equip, permanent and temporary blessings, potions, special items, and many things that could boost one's combat power.
But there were also items that could improve the power of an entire force such as five Gold Legacy Tablets that contained powerful Combat Techniques from the Legendary Shrine out of its nine, three Legacy Tablets that held Mana Techniques, all of which were Saint-ranked with Feng only missing one more Saint-ranked one and two tablets with regular Mana Techniques out of the bunch, and best of all a Legacy Tablet belonging to a Primordial Demon God; which was the most valuable out of all the tablets in the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine as it contained a number of powerful techniques including a Primordial God-ranked Mana Technique.
There were also amazing things like Designs and Recipes of various ranks with a few even being Craftsman ranked, Tier 6 Magic Scrolls, Magic Arrays, materials ranging from Legendary to Divine Artifact rank, Legendary items useful for guild activities and special items like Speedboats, Sailboats, and Flying Ships which were of extreme value to guilds, and several other things that will increase Zero Wing's power.
It was an insane amount of gains that Feng had made considering the minimal risks he had taken and the only loss being a few Consumables thanks to Precursor's Glimpse.
Though, it wasn't as if there were no potential dangers, since aside from the Swift Fortuitous Death challenge that he had undertaken, the misfortunes hiding within the Jinxed Orbs Feng had picked up were by no means something simple.
Two Bye-byes that would have normally gotten his account banned, three curses that would decrease the rank and power of his equipment, and he had even lost the Blood Emperor's Armor from one in a future vision, some curses that weakened his skills, attributes, Life Rating, loads of things that weakened his combat power, and overall being, a few summoned enemies that were far stronger than Feng, and multiple curses that just straight up killed him.
If not for Feng possessing multiple things that could negate death, his fate would have been greatly different. A bigger problem were the curses that directly destroyed his soul.
Thankfully, although Unshakable Roots and Return From Ashes could only mitigate soul destruction to a certain degree and would not be able to save Feng's soul from total destruction like that, Feng had the Holy Grail.
Previously, Feng had been leaving the Legendary cup in his Private Warehouse and refrained from bringing it along on dangerous adventures due to Death Rejection being activatable only once unless he possessed an Eternal Heart[4].
If Feng died some random death and wasted the chance to escape the grim reaper's clutches when it wasn't necessary, he'd suffer a massive loss of something that could have possibly made a big difference for his Tier 2 Promotion Quest.
Moreover, if Feng came across something that had the power to kill him, the enemy would have to be absurdly strong, so it was unlikely that the Holy Grail would make much of a difference since the being would just finish Feng off once his invincibility time ended.
However, ever since his experience in the 100th Divine Shrine, Feng had changed his mind and began carrying the Holy Grail at nearly all times. The risk of losing his soul was too great, and Feng would rather waste Death Rejection for a stupid reason than possibly get soul annihilated. Having the Passive Skill usable would be meaningless at that point.
Meanwhile, Death Rejection was his most powerful life saving skill since it completely negated even soul annihilation, so Feng would be safe so long as he didn't get killed by like a Primordial God level being.
These curses within the Jinxed Orbs that could destroy Feng's soul did not have such power and were thus blocked by Death Rejection, keeping Feng safe. So long as he doesn't get hit with two in a row, that is.
Without the Holy Grail, Feng would have had to use the combination of Phantom Kill and Precursor's Glimpse several more times in order to look through all the Jinxed Orbs.
Death and Soul annihilation curses had been a plenty, directly neutralizing all the amazing treasures one obtains.
But apart from those, and obviously the Bye-byes, the two worst misfortunes had been a curse that decreased Feng's tier, dropping him back down to Tier 0, and a curse that had permanently erased his left leg; forcing future Feng to fly around with Gale Domain while opening the remaining Jinxed Orbs.
When compared, even though the fortunes he got were greater in quantity, many of the misfortunes could have ended Feng's career.
Thanks to his future-seeing skill, that outcome was avoided, and Feng only received a bunch of treasures without paying any price or suffering grievous consequences.
Feng only felt it was a shame he didn't get either of the two Basic Legendary Flying Mounts that existed within the Shrine from the Jinxed Orbs, and his luck with mounts didn't seem good in particular since he only got three of the ten Advanced Extraordinary Flying Mounts nor did he get the Mythical Land Mount that supposedly existed within one of the Jinxed Orbs.
Nevertheless, each of the items he received was incredibly valuable, and many could increase his combat power by a vast amount. The Mysterious Flames especially so.
If Feng absorbed all three Tier 4 Mysterious Flames, he'd probably see a qualitative improvement in his strength. The Tier 5 Mysterious Flame, though, was on an entirely different level.
Tier 5 flames were around on par with even Fragmented Divine Artifacts in terms of rarity and value, possessing an immense amount of power that could aid even Tier 6 beings, not to mention their value in things like Forging. Absorbing the Skyburnt Mysterious Flame he had acquired would give Feng a much larger chance of killing a natural-born God for his Tier 2 Promotion Quest.
Sadly, that was impossible. In his current state, Feng would hardly even be able to successfully absorb Tier 4 Mysterious Flames, and it only became possible through using Black Flame and the method with which Feng had previously absorbed the Tier 4 Burning Argent Flame.
However, such a trick would not work against a Tier 5 Mysterious Flame. As their tier grew, Mysterious Flames' power increased exponentially by leaps and bounds, but not just the sheer raw power they contained nor their elemental and destructive.
Mysterious Flames begin to gain a will of their own among higher tiers, which allows them to be far more appliable once absorbed. Though it naturally increased the difficulty of absorbing one in the first place as well.
This change could even be slightly seen among Tier 4 Mysterious Flames, but is fully realized at Tier 5 and higher. Tier 5 Mysterious Flames would have a faint, weak consciousness of their own which would do its best to avoid getting absorbed.
When one succeeded in absorbing a Tier 5 flame, although the consciousness would be suppressed and lose most of its power, it would still make the Mysterious Flame much more powerful and give the player a lot of help in properly operating the flame.
During his previous life, Feng had managed to get his hands on a Tier 5 Mysterious Flame and absorb it at an early stage, gaining a large increase in power and a faint consciousness to assist him in battle.
The absorption process was agonizing, to say the least, even for him who had been a Tier 6 player on the level of Ancient Gods at the time. With his current strength, Feng knew there was zero chance of him succeeding in absorbing the Skyburnt Mysterious Flame.
As for Tier 6 Mysterious Flames, Feng had never absorbed or seen one up close during his career, so he had no concrete information on them, merely knowing what was available about them, howsoever it's said that Tier 6 flames have fully developed consciousness.
Apart from Tier 6 Mysterious Flames being incomprehensibly rare, a larger reason for Feng not having the chance to see one was that only a few players had ever managed to absorb them.
From what Feng knew, the absorption process was insanely difficult even for some of the strongest players, so the majority of attempts end up in failure, resulting in Tier 6 Mysterious Flames just being left to sit in the Warehouses of various powers without being used by players.
Those who do succeed in absorbing a Tier 6 flame receive an enormous boost in power though. Apparently, even once absorbed, the consciousness of Tier 6 Mysterious Flames would remain mostly intact and would become subservient to the player, aiding them in controlling the flame and overall helping for all sorts of purposes; practically becoming a battle companion.
However, since the current Feng couldn't even absorb a Tier 5 Mysterious Flame, that was irrelevant to him. He could only store the Skyburnt Mysterious Flame and leave it to be used at another time.
Aside from the Tier 5 Mysterious Flame, something else that Feng had obtained from the Jinxed Orbs but could not use due to his low tier were the Tier 6 Skill and Spell Books. Evenly, Feng had obtained three Tier 6 Skill Books and three Tier 6 Spell Books of the eleven Tier 6 Books spread across Jinxed Orbs.
There were Skill and Spell Books that one had to learn in full at Tier 6 in order to use, unlike some skills that one learns and levels up with EXP like Flame Burst, Worldly Purification, or Lightning Edge.
Hence, Feng could not use them at all for a while, leaving them in the Guild Warehouse to collect dust until he and the other restored members reach into the high tiers.
Apart from those, Feng had also obtained one of two Tier 6 Taboo Skill Books in the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine as well as both Tier 6 Curse Books. Naturally, Feng could do even less with those since they were far out of his league while at Tier 1.
All nine books will thus end up in the Warehouse for now.
Having sorted through all his items and settled everything with the Limitless Boots, Feng got up after recovering a bit and walked over to the vending machine made of Seven Luminaries Crystals.
Although Feng had already opened up all the Jinxed Orbs that he wanted and got a whole bunch of treasures, his earnings from the Legendary Shrine and its infamous challenge were not yet over.
Feng still had plenty of Jinxed Orbs with misfortunes to put inside this vending machine and exchange for some more goodies.
Standing in front of the machine, it was truly a piece of work. Most of it was completely Seven Luminaries Crystals except for the front in which a tall glass window allowed challengers to look inside, covering most of the front from the top down to three-fourths of its entire height.
One could gaze at the items inside, of which there were four rows of four trays for things to be stored on. Below each of the trays was a tag with two symbols, as well as a price tag.
The only other things that stood out were a red lever to the left of the glass, a pick-up box at the bottom, and a spherical hole to the right above which was a display screen and a keypad with eight buttons side by side in pairs.
Each keypad button had symbols in the demon language on it, and through his surface-level knowledge of the demonic tongue, Feng could tell they were the human race's equivalent of A to D from top left to bottom left and 1 to 4 from top right to bottom right.
Obviously, it was how one would choose which item they wished to exchange for.
Retrieving his remaining Jinxed Orbs from the Inferior Spatial Bag, Feng placed 92 golden orbs inside the hole slot meant for Jinxed Orbs, causing the display to light up with the number.
Although there were only eighty misfortunes among the Jinxed Orbs Feng had picked up during the Swifth Fortuitous Death challenge, he hadn't opened all of the ones that had good stuff.
Aside from avoiding misfortunes, Precursor's Glimpse allowed Feng to open the Jinxed Orbs with more insight.
Among the fortunes there were also things that Feng didn't need, such as the Exotic Butter. After all, Feng could freely make them with the Exotic Basket, so it was unnecessary to open the Jinxed Orb when he could spend it much more wisely.
Items that required users to be of a certain race, some Legendary items that didn't have any abilities of interest or use in Feng's eyes, things he effectively possessed already or could get better versions of, or simply didn't need, blessings that were either useless to Feng or had short durations, some materials that he already had, could get somewhere else, or thought of them as useless were also not unboxed.
These types of fortunes added to the Jinxed Orbs Feng had an excess of and could spend at the vending machine.
Looking through the options within the vending machine, players would find themselves not quite sure what to purchase. There were no indicators or signs as to what the miniature items exactly were aside from their looks, and there was no way to use Identification Skills through the glass, so it was impossible to appraise the items or see their details.
At most, players could guess what they were through basic observation and sensing the items' aura.
The first tray that was labeled as A1 and priced at 5 Jinxed Orbs had an assortment of items that were easy to guess the identity of, small bows, swords, spears, axes, staves, and the like being propped up on it one after the other. By their aura, an experienced player could tell they were high-ranking and rivaled Legendary items in power, so one could summarize that the items on A1 were Legendary Weapons.
Similar identification could be done for several other trays such as A2 right next to the weapons, which had armor pieces of all sorts of types and a powerful aura as well, being Legendary pieces of equipment; whereas A3 had items of all sorts with no rhyme or something similar to categorize them as except their powerful aura similar to the previous two trays, so one could guess that they were Legendary Tools and items.
A bit trickier was A4 that had items with a powerful aura as well but a bit weaker and clearly not being of any exact type since they ranged across a wide spectrum. By looking at them and either recognizing one or guessing based on looks for some of them that resembled fruits and the like, one could conclude that they were Legendary Consumables.
Another hint at an items' identity and power were the price tags, since aside from the Legendary Weapons on A1, all the other trays in the first row of A cost 4 Jinxed Orbs.
However, that was the most one could get from visuals, and everything else was plain out guesswork.
It was impossible to tell whether the items had high attributes, good effects and skills, or if it was suitable to oneself due to there being no System Panel to show the items' stats nor could players touch the items.
Hell, you aren't even able to tell if the weapons were one-handed or two-handed, or how big they actually are at all, based off of looks since all the items have been shrunken down to fit inside the vending machine and would only return to normal once someone bought and took them out.
Hence, the only thing players could do if they weren't willing to open the Jinxed Orbs was pick at random going by what they could see and hope for the best. Worst case scenario where they get something useless to them, they could always just sell it off and earn back some profit.
Feng, though, by taking advantage of the hard work players had put into going through everything in this Shrine during the previous timeline, could use the information he had on all the items within the vending machine. He already knew what type of item was on each tray, as well as the details of most of them.
Without any hesitation, Feng first and foremost lowered his gaze to the second tray of the third row of items, on which there were only two objects; a collection of hair shaped as if it was on a person's head, and some kind of map.
These items radiated the greatest amount of aura and Divine Might, while they also had the highest price of everything else in the vending machine, requiring 20 Jinxed Orbs to exchange for.
Pressing C2 two times in a row, Feng watched as the two items slid off the tray under the machine's mechanism and fell down to the pick-up box, leaving the C2 tray empty. Simultaneously, the number on the display screen decreased by forty, dropping to 52.
Pushing open the slot for purchased items, Feng retrieved the wig and map, their oppressive aura bearing down on him.
Activating the Eyes of Truth, the items' information was finally revealed.

Both of the Fragmented Divine Artifacts that Feng had purchased from the vending machine were unique and useful items of great value even if they weren't particularly useful in combat.
Chimeralocks was especially useful to Feng, in fact being quite the necessity that he'd soon need, and was one of the items he wanted to get the most from the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine aside from the Prison Realm.
Feng would soon give Lancelot a physical body to possess, and they'd need a definitive method of keeping his identity as an Awakened a secret when the High Elf manifests. After all, Feng could not risk his collusion with the enemy of all creatures in God's Domain getting found out, so he had to disguise Lancelot's identity to the best of his ability.
There was nothing better for the job than a Fragmented Divine Artifact ranked Disguise Tool created by the Illusion God. It served as great insurance that Feng's life doesn't come to a swift end.
The Lawn Striker's Hud, on the other hand, was not something Feng necessarily needed, but it was still a unique item and a Fragmented Divine Artifact with a good ability that could come to be of great use in some situations.
Not to mention it was also a powerful Appraisal Tool whose identification ability surpassed Feng's current usage of the Eyes of Truth.
It was definitely a huge profit to exchange those horrible misfortunes for these two Fragmented Divine Artifacts.
Moving on, Feng went up to the second row.
Glancing through B1, which had Consumables below Legendary rank and was the cheapest tray of items priced at 1 Jinxed Orb, B2, on which several special items were propped up such as a key, a boat in a bottle, a Flying Ship, a whistle, some kind of badge, and so on all costing 4 orbs, and B3, whose tray had tablets of all kinds of colors and heavy auras stacked up like books while being priced at 5 Jinxed Orbs, Feng stopped at B4.
It was the second tray with the highest price and lowest number of items after C2 that had Fragmented Divine Artifacts, the three items on B4 each requiring 15 Jinxed Orbs to exchange for.
They were a bottle with some kind of liquid inside it, a chest, and a crystal droplet.
Clicking the B4 buttons three times, Feng spent 45 Jinxed Orbs, having only 7 remaining, and the three items were pushed down to the pick-up box.
Retrieving them from the box, the items' aura was let loose as they radiated a powerful amount of aura and Mana, surpassing even the Legendary items, and Feng immediately placed the Peak Bloodline, Legendary Treasure Chest, and Legacy Item in his bag without even bothering to check their information since he already knew of their identities.
Being left with just seven Jinxed Orbs to spend at the vending machine, Feng still had some choices since he could afford one item from any tray, but didn't think too much before going back up to A4.
Carefully looking at the first item on the top rightmost tray, he grew disappointed upon not seeing the item he was hoping for be at the front. Still, Feng decided to give it one try and reached to the left for the red lever, activating Divine Providence as he pulled it.
The number of orbs on the display screen decreased by one, and all the items within the vending machine flashed with a light, seemingly changing and shifting about until the light subsided.
When the sight behind the glass could be seen, the order of the items on each of the trays had changed, with even some new ones that weren't there before appearing in front of the rest.
Since this was a vending machine, even if someone did see an item they wished to purchase, if it wasn't the first one at the front, then they'd have to first buy all the items in front of it as well before being able to get their desired item.
The only way to get around this for an item that was too far back or not on the tray at all was the vending machine's lever.
By paying from one's stock of inserted Jinxed Orbs, it was possible to reshuffle the order of items on the tray and for new ones to appear. It also served to restock the vending machine if a particular tray had been emptied.
Unfortunately, C2 and B4 do not get restocked no matter what, so Feng couldn't get more Fragmented Divine Artifacts or any of the other treasures.
Through the lever, one would have a much better shot at getting an item that they wanted.
Of course, it wasn't possible to infinitely reshuffle the items' order, and a person would have to pay more Jinxed Orbs every time they pulled the lever; the first pull costing one orb, the second two, the third four, the fourth eight, the fifth sixteen, and so on.
Moreover, how the items change and appear was completely random, so there was no guarantee one would be able to reach their desired item regardless of how many times they reshuffled the vending machine.
It would just be up to luck. Feng didn't just decide to reshuffle them while relying on pure luck, though, having activated Divine providence with 500 units of Life Force sacrificed beforehand as well as focusing Probability Manipulation on the A4 Legendary Consumables in order to maximize his chances of getting what he wanted.
Luckily, the first attempt worked out splendidly, a rhombus-shaped[6] rainbow rock having appeared at the front on the A4 tray. Pressing the corresponding buttons, the tray moved and the rock fell down while Feng's inserted Jinxed Orbs dropped to two.
Picking up the item, which grew in size upon being taken out of the vending machine, Feng held the rainbow rock as the Mana inside the Legendary Shrine surged towards it.
[Sacred Source Diamond] (Consumable, Legendary Rank)
Upgrade one selected item to Legendary rank.
It was one of the most valuable Consumables available in the vending machine, if not the best of them all since the Sacred Source Diamond's ability to upgrade any item to Legendary rank was far more desirable than anything else players could get from Legendary Consumables that have a limited number of uses.
Even if Feng couldn't benefit from using it at the moment on a majority of items due to Tier Requirements, it was definitely worth the four Jinxed Orbs for the future.
Now that he only has two more orbs to use, however, Feng's choices were limited, as a part from the low-ranking Consumables on B1, he couldn't afford anything else from trays in row B, or things like the Designs and Recipes on C1 or Legacy Guidances on C4 that cost three Jinxed Orbs.
Feng thus moved down to the last row of trays. Unlike on the items above them, the things on row D couldn't be identified by sensing their aura or visuals since D1, D2, and D3 all had potions on them that looked quite similar; the bottles' contents being a transparent liquid that gave off some level of life force with only D4 giving off a more powerful feeling.
Their prices were the only indicator of quality, costing 1, 3, and 5 Jinxed Orbs, respectively.
D4 was greatly different, aside from being priced at one orb, than anything else in the vending machine for another reason.
Unlike the rest which had physical items on them, the things on tray D4 were floating lights in the shape of a clock with 20,000 written across them.
From just looks, it would be impossible to have any clue of what anything on this row is.
Possessing information from the future made Feng able to pick things to purchase without any confusion or hesitation, clicking the keypad's buttons to purchase from D4 two times.
Nothing was pushed down this time, but two light orbs floated down through the opening box and went towards Feng.
Not stopping, the clocks went inside him, causing system notifications to appear.
System: Your time on the World Summit has been extended by 20,000 minutes.
System: Your time on the World Summit has been extended by 20,000 minutes.
This was one of only two methods to increase one's minutes on the World Summit aside from going back down and doing another test. Moreover, buying 20,000 minutes in the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine for one Jinxed Orb was the most effective and profitable way available.
After all the Legendary Shrines had been looted, including the Main Legendary Shrine upon the Asura Mode World Summit Trial being cleared by Feng, only this place still had some items remaining.
Those that had a chance to enter a Legendary Shrine could only go come here and take on the Swift Fortuitous Death challenge, there not being anything else left in the Legendary Shrine region.
However, since most players weren't willing to open Jinxed Orbs after seeing all the misfortunes people had faced, the Seven Luminaries Crystal vending machine became a popular spot in the Shrine, with players constantly purchasing stuff from it.
This was especially so once players realized that there were no more fortunes left among the remaining Jinxed Orbs, and since no limit had been found to the number of some things within the machine like Legendary items, Consumables, Legacy Tablets, Legacy Guidances, and the stuff on row D as long as items get restocked using the lever, players swarmed to purchase stuff from it.
More minutes were a good purchase if one was low on the time they could spend on the World Summit and wished to extend it without having to first leave, wait in line, and take on the test again.
In fact, some players even used their chance to enter a Legendary Shrine solely for the purpose of increasing their minutes by a bit.
Feng had fallen low on time, having spent 50,000 minutes to enter the Main Legendary Shrine, 40,500 minutes for the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine, 27,000 minutes on two Inferior Legendary Shrines, and a considerable amount of the rest on flying back and forth as well as in the Shrines themselves.
He only had half a day or so worth of time before he ran out of minutes. But Feng still had to enter two Inferior Legendary Shrines, three Epic Shrines, make a trip to the Divine Staircase, and fuck Serena's brains out.
Hence, the minutes were a necessary purchase even if Feng had to spend the rest of his Jinxed Orbs on them, making it impossible to purchase anything else without entering the Shrine a second time.
One would feel bad about the vending machine while looking at its contents regardless of how many things they had purchased due to the sheer number and quality of items up for exchange.
It didn't feel good to leave so many things behind while knowing you'd probably never return again.
However, stealing from the vending machine was impossible.
Many had attempted during Feng's previous life, without any success.
Apart from the machine itself being incredibly tough to the point anything less than Tier 6 Peak attacks would not even shake it, a phantom of Celestina would appear if someone attempted to damage the vending machine and steal stuff from it, eliminating any and all thieves.
Additionally, the World Summit's Administrator would be called and quickly arrive should any such disturbance happen, banning anyone who violates the rules and blacklisting them from ever coming to the World Summit again.
This feature forced players into having to repeatedly take on the Swift Fortuitous Death challenge and gather Jinxed Orbs to purchase items from the vending machine; which then refiled the challenge space with the golden orbs since any spent at the vending machine would return there.
Competition once again skyrocketed in the Legendary Shrine following everyone wanting to exchange for the items at the vending machine before they ran out, causing the challenge's difficulty to quickly rise exponentially.
Since the mantises gained power whenever a player picked up a Jinxed Orb, and players often got killed in the challenge by either other players or their numerous pursuers, only a hundred or so items got purchased before the Swift Fortuitous Death challenge became too difficult.
Over ten thousand Swift Demon Mantises would chase a player, each having the attributes of an Ancient God. Moreover, these mantises would immediately respawn if one was killed or heavily injured.
Even top-tier experts could not handle something like that, regardless of their power.
Eventually, people stopped coming to the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine at all once the challenge became impossible to pass anymore, leaving a large amount of the items inside the vending machine to just sit there without anyone to purchase them.
Feng wasn't concerned with any of that, though, since he planned on coming back and grabbing the remaining Jinxed Orbs for fortunes and to buy the treasures inside the vending machine once he helps Celestina take authority over the Dark Den.
But for now, that was all he could get, only being able to leave and go on with his business.
Before Feng left, he remembered that two Jinxed Orbs still remained unopened and went over to them, summoning his doppelganger and having it activate Precursor's Glimpse.
Watching the future through the doppelganger, Feng watched as his future self opened the first Jinxed Orb, a parchment appearing out of it.
"Alchemy Recipe for a Great Grandmaster ranked potion." Announcing the golden orb's contents, future Feng moved on to the second one and chose to open it.
A moment later, the space in front of him turned into a portal, out of which came a gigantic figure that dwarfed Feng. Looking up at the enormous Dragon covered in golden scales that was gazing down at him with disdain, it was impossible to guess what was going through future Feng's mind.
[Golden Dragon God] (Dragon, Divine)
Level 240
HP ??????/??????
Feng cancelled Phantom Kill and ended the vision. There was no need to watch what happens next.
Seeing the abominable result of opening the last orb, Feng felt incredibly glad that he had chosen to be patient and wait instead of opening the Jinxed orbs.
Without bothering to consider it, he chose to open the first golden orb himself and store the Recipe, while taking the second Jinxed Orb to the vending machine.
Upon inserting the orb in the slot and increasing the number shown on the display to one, Feng clicked in D1.
His last Jinxed Orb was spent, and one of the potions on tray D1 was pushed off into the pick-up box. Feng retrieved the bottle and after glancing at its description, emptied all the transparent liquid down his throat.
[Basic Boost Drink]
Increases all Basic Attributes by 1%. A maximum of 10 Basic Boost Drinks can be consumed per person.
All the potions on the fourth row were valuable drinks that increased one's combat power at some low prices. Basic Boost Drinks on D1 increase a player's Basic Attributes by 1% and cost 1 Jinxed Orb, whereas on D2 one could buy an Intermediate Boost Drink that increase all Hidden Attributes by 1% for three Jinxed Orbs, and the Advanced Boost Drinks on D3 improve a player's Life Rating by a considerable extent, being priced at 5 Jinxed Orbs but having a limit of three per person.
They were a good option if there was nothing else one could afford or wanted from the vending machine, becoming a very desired item to get since there would be plenty of high-ranking players on the outside who would want to buy them since even Tier 6 experts would get the full boost.
After feeling all his Basic Attributes increase by a few hundred points, Feng was finally done with the Swift Fortuitous Death Shrine for now, choosing to leave it and fly down the mountain towards the Inferior Legendary Shrine area.

1. I assure you all that in actuality, it's much, MUCH higher than that. I'll admit that I may have perhaps gone a bit overboard with the attributes once I calculated it all, but it's mainly due to the Full Blessing he received early on and the two Bloodlines, while without them and just his equipment it would be much lower. Though, it still makes me wonder why OG SF was so weak all things considered. LOC was really nerfing him and not allowing SF to utilize all the possible means. Of course it was to keep suspense and not make him too OP, but still, it doesn't feel natural when I look back on it and all the possibilities.
2. Idea for item from JJK.
3. Inspiration for name and slightly for both skills from game Buckshot Roulette.
4. A change has been made to how Death Rejection works from the previous version after a reader brought to my attention how its effects could be easily and heavily abused.
5. Idea for item came from Grounded.
