A battle against a beast? (part 1)

'Much better,' he said inwardly, but he maintained an expressionless face while he took the map from her.

Cristian opened the map and scanned through it, his eyes registering the details and tracing straight to their location.

"What is it?" He raised his head, asking the white-haired woman, who pressed her lips against each other.

"Uncomfortable," she whispered, her eyes gleaming with panic. 

With a frown, he stepped closer and took her into his arms, stroking her silky hair gently. "I'm here," he said, feeling her clutch his back tightly while the protruding fangs that suddenly came out slowly went back.

Medusa, having a tough time staying in human form for a while, might be because she had stayed in her beast form for a long time.

But Cristian knew there were many monsters that did not have this problem, so apart from the time, he suspected Medusa had experienced something that made her find solace in her actual form.
