Sitting on a stone chair, Cristian observed as Lavinia strapped his wrists and then moved to secure his legs.
"I could handle it without this," Cristian remarked.
Lavinia raised her head, her eyes glowing an eerie orange hue. "I know, it's for my protection. If it gets too much, you could just swing your arms, and once I get hit, it's over."
"Oh?"
Placing her hands on Cristian's broad shoulders, Lavinia peered deeply into his eyes. "This will hurt, badly."
"To make a weapon able to withstand your raw power, the power of a dragon, I have to link it with your blood."
Whispering incantations, Lavinia waited until the dagger in her hand glowed before she made a precise cut just below his jewel heart.
A hiss escaped Cristian's lips as the dragon glass dagger sliced through his flesh, eliciting an intense reaction from him. His muscles tensed, veins bulged, and he instinctively strained against his restraints.
