William was standing by the window, gazing out into the distance. He seemed like he was lost in his own world. Through the window, he could see the big Northpine Lake stretched out in front of him. The light from the moon was shining on the lake's water, making it glow.
Tonight, for some reason, everything was really quiet, more quiet than usual.
"What's going on, Will? You look like something's bothering you," Isabella said. She had noticed that William seemed worried and walked up to him to ask what was on his mind.
"I can't shake this feeling that something weird is going to happen tonight. Everything just seems too quiet, too calm," William said. This uneasy feeling had been bothering him since he got back to the inn.
Isabella moved to stand beside him and looked out of the window too. Under the light of the crescent moon, the water in Northpine Lake seemed to twinkle. Oddly enough, it was a bit chilly outside even though it looked so peaceful.
