After pausing for a brief rest, William, Isabella, and the sleeping Aimee resumed their journey deeper into the labyrinth. Before long, they encountered another group of zombies. This time, however, the group was much smaller than the massive horde they had faced earlier. William found it relatively easy to end this group which allowed them to move forward without much delay.
As they ventured deeper, the stench of decay grew increasingly intense. The smell of rotten flesh was almost suffocating, particularly for William, whose heightened senses made it all the more unbearable. Isabella seemed to be coping slightly better, though she too was visibly affected by the foul odor.
At the same time, it was also getting colder. Isabella even noticed Aimee was shivering slightly from the cold. Seeing this she used a tiny bit of her Mana to keep Aimee warm.
Concerned, William glanced back at Isabella and Aimee. "How's Aimee doing?" he asked.
