A delightful sensation of surging energy spreading across his body made Julian brim with euphoria. It was so intense that he had an urge to roar wildly to vent his excitement.
Ascension of life energy level wasn't as simple as improvement in power but a fundamental transformation in the essence of the lifeform itself.
Being a level 2 practitioner meant that Julian had broke the limit of ordinary human's limitation and stepped on the path of evolution in the journey of transcending mortality.
The difference between level 2 practitioner and level 1 practitioner was like comparing heaven and earth. If level 1 practitioner was a crawling caterpillar on earth, level 2 practitioner was a butterfly freely roaming in the sky.
Only after reaching level 2 could a person be called a true hunters or martial artists.
In the army, life energy level 2 was a rigid standard for promotion to non-commissioned officers.
And according to Hunter Association, a hunter could only apply for promotion from the lowest F-rank hunter to E-rank hunter when they could prove that they had already reached life energy level 2.
The same standard was also applied to Combat Department in every university. In fact, every university decided whether to issue graduation certificates to students based on whether they have reached the second level or not.
It took a long time for Julian to calm down his heart.
Now that he had been promoted to level 2 and has mastered the Thunder Fist to the perfection-level, he finally met all the conditions for transfer to the combat department. So, he decided to file his transfer submission document to the university office as soon as possible.
Collecting his mind, Julian called out his personal panel.

"Strength increased by 1 point and vitality increased by 2 points. So, there is only improvement of 3 attributes in total?"
Julian frowned, falling into a self-doubt.
When he upgraded the Whale Swallowing Breathing method from proficient-level to adept-level, his attributes had increased by three points. So, according to his calculation, the improvement this time supposed to be at least four points. But why did they give him the same result?
"Could it be because my life energy level has increased?"
That was the only reason Julian could think of to explain this bizarre phenomenon.
"It seems that as the life energy level increases, the strengthening effect of the martial skill breakthrough will also decrease."
"With this general trend in mind, when I break through to level 3, upgrading a first star martial art won't give me any significant improvement."
Julian secretly made up his mind to collect more high-grade martial arts in the future.
"If I knew it earlier, I would upgrade the Flash Step instead."
Clicking his tongue in regret, Julian made a mental note to prioritize upgrading the higher-grade martial art when he got suitable items later.
As for Whale Swallowing Breath method he had now, he still could rely on daily practice to improve it step by step in the future.
Each session of practice could give him around three or four proficiency points so sooner or later he would be able to upgrade it into the perfection-level.
No rush, no rush.
With dozens of proficiency points remaining, Julian directly spent them into the Thunder Fist technique. Although it was just a one-star martial art, it was the only offensive technique he had currently and it also the only skill that had reached the perfection-level and soon would break through to the next realm.
There were only 100 PD points left, which is far from enough to exchange for cultivation crystals.
So, Julian simply exchanged his points for the designated attribute card, which directly increased the spirit by 3 points.
With the improvement of his spiritual attributes, he keenly felt that his mind became much clearer.
The whole world seemed to be clearer like a layer of dusty glass after being wiped with clean clothes.
He could clearly sense even the mosquitoes flying over ten meters away from the balcony even though it was dark outside.
After experiencing it for a moment, Julian showed a thoughtful expression.
Perception and thinking speed!
Spiritual attributes include at least these two aspects!
As for other effect, he could slowly learn it in the future.
After such an improvement, the total value of Julian's four-dimensional attributes has soared to 85 points.
According to the unified federal standard, when the average value of the four-dimensional attribute needed reach 30 points only then one could promote the life energy level to level 3.
That means the total value reached 120 points.
"It's still 35 points short... the road is still long."
Resting his chin on his palm as he sat cross-legged on the sofa, Julian pondered about the next step he should take.
Firstly, he naturally had to apply for the transfer into combat department.
For this matter, he didn't need to rush it, though, as he could do it when he went to the university to attend the next class.
The next thing was his plan to join martial arts club.
Having reached level 2, it was the time to complete the [Actual Combat II] mission.
Julian couldn't hold his saliva from drooling just at the thought of obtaining the 1,000 PD points as the reward for clearing this mission.
"I don't have to go to class tomorrow, so let's go to the city centre."
…
The next day.
After having breakfast, Julian left his room early in the morning and took the bus to the city centre.
Last night, he had collected various information of the martial arts club from the internet in detail.
After the martial arts era begun, various martial arts gym and martial arts club sprung like mushrooms in rainy seasons to capitalize people's love and pursuit of martial arts.
Unlike the martial arts gym which focused on providing teaching and training for martial arts, the martial club was designed as a gathering place for martial arts enthusiast to exchange pointers and discuss their interest.
Although some of the clubs also facilitated martial arts teaching and tutoring, their main purpose was to provide a premium venue for martial artists to compete with each other.
There were more than ten official martial arts clubs just in White Whale City alone. Among them, there were five clubs with prestigious reputation.
After browsing and comparing for a whole night, Julian finally hammered down his choice on Iron Fist martial arts club. Compared to the rest of the top martial art clubs, Iron Fist had the highest number of members at life energy level 2 and level 3, which was the most suitable for his purpose.
Getting of the bus in the city centre, Julian walked a certain distance and stopped in front of a luxurious three story building. A ceramic signboard with "Iron Fist" gilded in gold written it placated on the wall beside the automatic door.
Julian nodded secretly; he came to the right place.
To be able to occupy such a big building right in the heart of city centre where every inch of land was worth of gold, it proved how deep the background of this Iron Fist club.
Stepping inside, Julian was welcomed with a sight of spacious and well-decorated lobby room, and standing at the front desk were a line up of rare beauties in business suit with charming looks and graceful figures.
A girl at the front desk noticed his presence and immediately greeted him with a professional smile adorning her pretty face.
"Welcome sir, how can I help you?"
Julian admired her looks briefly before stating his intention. "I want to apply for membership."
Hearing that he was here to join the club, her eyes lit up and the smile on the girl's face became brighter. She quickly led him to the front desk, her curvy hips swaying gracefully as she trod in front of Julian.
The girl at the front desk handed over a form and a pen. "Sir, please fill out the form."
Julian skimmed over the form's content. It was filled with standard question such as name, mobile phone number, home address, and so on so forth, but at the end of the form, there were column specifically asking for life energy level and total value of four-dimentional attributes.
Noticing Julian's gaze, the girl at the front desk explained in detail.
"Sir, our club provide a service for sparring matchmaking, these information are crucial for a proper match arrangement."
"In order to match you with a suitable opponent, you need to fill in the relevant strength information."
While talking, the girl at the front desk took out a translucent blue crystal ball a size of a palm and placed it in front of Julian.
"This is a life energy detector. You just need to put your hand on it."
Life energy detector, as its name suggested, was a device to detect one's life energy level. It was invented and promoted by Federation to give a rough measurement of the total value of a person's four-dimensional attributes.
The one used in Iron Fist martial was a standard device that commonly used by private business. The more advanced life energy detector was rumored be able to measure one's data with higher precision and accuracy.
Unfortunately, the advance life energy detector wasn't available for public use. Only Military Affairs Beureau, Hunter Association, and the top superhuman organisations had the access of this item, and it was rarely circulated in the market.
Julian had heard of the life energy detector before, but it was the first time he had seen it with his own eyes, so he couldn't help but be amazed.
He stretched out his hand and place it on the top of the orb. His palm warmed up, and in the next second, the blue crystal ball tremble slightly.
After removing his hand, a number was immediately displayed in the centre of the detector.
