Chapter 156-over

Cecilia's POV

I looked at him, and he cleared his throat before continuing, "Because I lost, I forgot everything I prepared to say. You deceived me with your vote, claimed to like me, and then decided to end things after expressing your affection. When you said you liked me, I was genuinely happy." 

His voice trembled, and he turned his face away, his eyelids reddened, and his voice gradually choked, "When I heard you say you liked me, I was truly, so happy." 

A tear rolled down from his eye. 

My thin double eyelids were now soaked into complete monolids, the curved lines extending downwards, fragile and moist like delicate long lashes. 

He cried silently, eyes closed, tears pooling without a sound.

I stared at him, my heart swelling with a bitter ache. I took a deep breath, yet the suffocating pain, akin to oxygen deprivation, persisted around my heart.
