Chapter 51: Let Them Come

“You will never possess me!” I bellowed. My indignant rage was an all-consuming flame. Even without my implement, I could feel magic coursing through me again, renewed by the drive to end Damon’s cruelty. He may have denied his calling, but I would not. The Moon Goddess would see me through.

Instinctively I crouched down on all fours as with a resounding roar, my wolf emerged at last, pure white and powerful beyond measure.

Damon’s eyes widened in awe as my transformed self lunged at him, teeth bared and claws extended.

He grinned as I drew near. “You freed your wolf!” He clapped, mocking me. “Awe isn’t that cute… though I suspect it will make you a bit harder to tame.”

“Tame this!’ I thought as I lept onto him in attack.

We rolled onto the grass and I ripped his left shoulder open, wanting nothing more than to get at his throat. Who is marking who? I scoffed to myself.
