Chapter 11: Through the Glass

I’m aware that there’s a layer of glass between me and this vampire face-off, but the waves of intense power, anxiety, and vengeance radiating off of Eileen and this red-haired woman are absolutely suffocating. I peer through the window at the best angle I can, making sure to keep myself as hidden as possible.

Eileen backs away, attempting to block the woman off from the kitchen. The woman flaunts her corset, puffing out her already prominent chest as she saunters over to Eileen. Faster than I can even comprehend, the woman grabs Eileen by the collar, pins her against a wall, and hovers her lips mere inches from Eileen’s neck.

An airy voice that somehow pierces like nails fills the room, commanding attention with just a single word, “Leena.”

Eileen straightens, holding herself up formally in the way a child would around an overbearing parent, “Beatrice.”

“Wow, back to the formalities already? You always loved calling me your little Bea Bea.”
