Chapter 28: Feast Planning

Lilia POV

“Yes, of course, you’ll organize the feast,” Azandra said, with more dignity than Lilia expected. “That is part of … part of your role, after all.”

The guards took Monk out of the room, thank Brigid. The council, meanwhile, descended in two wings from the dais to come and congratulate Dane and Lilia, and also to encourage them at such a difficult time. For such a serious occasion, it seemed as though most of them were eager for battle. Well, maybe not eager, but not shrinking from the fight.

Lilia felt like someone had just jumped on her from the trees in an ambush. Her eyes widened, and she stood quietly, taking it all in.

Tulaska patted her on the shoulder. “She’ll be magnificent! We need to put on a proper feast for those Silverpaws.”

“You mean a party?” Lilia said and instantly regretted speaking. Of course, they wouldn’t have a party with jesters and minstrels. Or maybe they would. She didn’t know.
