Chapter 45: Healing

Lilia POV

She had never been prouder of Dane than in this moment, watching him make peace with the Crimsontails and show caring and compassion as a leader.

A Crimsontail family approached Dane and Barrett. The man said, “I don’t understand this.”

Lilia studied the family. The man couldn’t meet Dane’s gaze, while the woman’s face was taut with anger, and their little girl looked up at Lilia with curiosity, then at Dane. She pointed at the Harmony Stone. “What’s that?”

Lilia squatted down so she could look the child in the eye. “It’s a moonstone. It has another name. Witches call it the Harmony Stone. Want to touch it?”

The child looked up at her mother, who shrugged. The child reached out for the Harmony Stone, running her small hands over it. “It feels WARM but it looks like the moon. The moon isn’t warm.”

“No, and the Harmony Stone isn’t warm either usually, but I’ve been working magic through it,” Lilia said. “And guess what?”

“What?” the child asked, curious.
