The girl sat hugging her knees in the room corner on the second floor. Eyes that were swollen from sleepless nights rolled to look around, paranoid. With only light coming through the green curtains, the inside of her bedroom was almost completely dark. A thumping sound from the townhouse next door continued as if it wanted to wreck her mind. This was not the first time this sound echoed. It had been sounding eight nights in a row since the girl had moved in here.
