CHAPTER TEN (BLAST OFF)

When she finally got into the rocket, she sighed and the oxygen mask was worn on her face. The combustion-powered rocket engine was started.

At a countdown of ten, the exhaust (flames, hot gases, and smoke) came streaming out of the rocket propellent (from the bottom) and the rocket started lifting from the ground.

The rocket thrust upward and Sarah almost froze to death from the fear, she shut her eyes.

The fast-moving rocket's speed increased to 25,000mph as it went further up shaking her roughly.

Soon her rocket was out of sight and security men rushed in after hearing the noise. The incident was reported to the Administrator of NASA and the men involved were taken for questioning.

Sarah had no idea of how long she had been traveling in space, her rocket just continued moving in space.

Something woke her up, a thunder-like sound echoed as something hit her rocket and the wailing sound of the danger alarm went off.

She slowly lifted her eyelids which were heavy from sleeping for so long. She loosened the belt that tied her to her chair and she started floating in the air.

She placed her leg on the wall of the rocket and pushed herself towards the back of the rocket. She panicked when she saw that she had no idea about what to do and the rocket was on fire.
