Chapter 10 – Trouble
The next day, Medea and Artoria came down after a sparring session. The place will open in an hour so they're were there to eat breakfast and get ready.
Just as they entered the dining area, they saw Rimuru leaning on the desk once again. Normally, this wouldn't be much of a big deal, but this time was different.
As they laid their eyes on him, their entire being froze, and felt a thousand presences behind her. Invisible, dark hands metaphorically gripped them, completely petrifying them.
Their eye bulged and cold sweat ran down their backs. It was the first time they felt like this. Not even the King of Heroes gave them this kind of presence.
But then, Rimuru woke up and gave a small yawn, and instantly they all disappeared.
Both collapsed onto the floor and started gasping for breath.
"*Yawn that was a good nap. Hm?"
He looked at the servants still on the floor, then felt something weird in his soul.
Being the smart person he is, he put two and two together and looked into his soul.
What he saw was an infinite space of white. There was nothing there, as should be. However, when he looked closer, he felt an infinitesimal small door a distance away, and when he approached it, it absorbed him.
Then the next thing he saw was the complete opposite of his soul. It was an infinite space of darkness. And the only light were the red shines coming of the eyes of the monsters residing here.
He looked around once again, and saw thousands of... creatures. There were some who looked like a horse, an insect, a cow, but they were obviously weren't from their aura.
And then, there were them. Compared to the animals, the difference was like heaven and earth.
Giant cosmic entities that looked straight out of a horror film were floating about. They had strange limbs bent in weird ways, and they were enclouded in layers and layers of tentacles and eyes. Each one gave of different colour glows.
It seemed like all the monsters here had their own territory. Wherever one resided, the surrounding area was being terraformed to suit their needs.
Needless to say, Rimuru was quite shocked at this.
When Rimuru arrived, all the eyes all concentrated on him. If it were anyone else, it would definitely scare them to death, but he only felt a little intimidated.
(What the heck. Why are there so many creatures here. Those animal-like ones are probably S-rank using the cardinal world's rankings. Not to mention those weird masses floating. They look creepy as hell. They're probably Special S Catastrophe rank if I would say.
So that's probably why Medea and Artoria fell onto the ground. They sensed the change of aura of my soul and feared me. Urgh, so annoying. I can feel my power increase at every moment and there's no damage so I could just ignore them. But others can't.
I'll just seal my aura then.)
Returning back to the material world, all the pressure disappeared from Rimuru and he walked towards the two.
He held out his hands in good will.
"Ha, sorry about that. I didn't know something would happen but now it should be okay."
To be completely honest, Medea and Artoria were already used to it, so they didn't mind much and just continued on with their life.
Meanwhile, Ciel just stared at the commotion in the kitchen, (I told them to not worry about anything.*sniff I taught them so well.)
...
"-en did this place open?"
The un-corrupted Artoria was in charge for this week. Usually, it was the same customers every time, so it was surprising to her that someone else entered here.
She has grown so used to the peacefulness that she stared at them in daze for a couple seconds before remembering she had a job to do.
And as usual, the customers of this café were not normal at all.
The first one to enter looked straight out of an anime. He had a black eye-band across his face, he had white, spiky hair and was wearing a weird black suit.
The second one to enter was also one who had spiky hair, but grey this time. He wore a suit that looked more like a school uniform, inclining Artoria to believe that the first one was a teacher leading students.
The third one was a girl who had orange hair. She wore what looked like a female version of the uniform that the second boy wore.
And the last one was, once again, someone who had spiky hair, but black. He wore the same uniform as the second person.
(Strange)
Putting up a professional act, Artoria approached them.
"Welcome, how may I help you?"
"I don't remember seeing this place. Did this café open recently?"
"Indeed, although I am a new worker here, this place opened about a month ago."
She then guided the four to a table.
"Hmm. My name's Gojo. Can I have a recommendation then?"
Gojo gave a wink to Artoria in an attempt to flirt, but failed miserably.
"I recommend a Sariel cake."
"Interesting, I'll have one of those then."
He then asked the other three who were looking at the menu, "what do you guys and girl want?"
""I'll have what he has"" The girl and the grey-haired one both said simultaneously and pointed at the black-haired one.
He simply grunted in response and muttered tiredly, "I'll have a Sariel cake too."
"Noted"
(Noted. What a weird way to speak.)
To others, Gojo might have come here to play and relax, and he probably was doing just that, but more importantly is that he felt something here. He believed that this café is harbouring an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit. He was going to exorcise it anyway, but he might as well enjoy the food here in the process.
He watched as Artoria walked to the hole in the wall, and saw a hand bring out the food.
And when this happened, he knew.
(That's not a human's hand. And here I thought I could enjoy the food. *Sigh)
He got up without warning and walked to the kitchen in such speed that the hand didn't retract yet. He grabbed onto it and said, "may I have a word with the owner of this supernaturally beautiful hand?"
Ciel, on the other hand (A/N get it, other 'hand' hahaha not funny), couldn't be bothered and replied with yes. She then opened a door on the side and Gojo saw her in her entirety for the first time. Long, silky blue hair, blood-red eyes. Not too tall but not short either, for a girl, and definitely not human, although she didn't feel like a cursed spirit either.
(She might be using some art to cover herself. Must be a special-grade since not even I can unravel the entire disguise.)
"We'll take this outside."
She took the lead and left first. Gojo smiled and winked at the confused other three, and followed her out.
Unknown to Gojo however, was that Ciel had a smile on her face as she left.
And another anomaly that occurred was the fact that Gojo completely missed Rimuru who was sleeping on the desk. Ciel and Rimuru were both a slime and thus did not have a difference in body construction, so why did Gojo miss Rimuru like he didn't exist?
Well, of course it's because of Ciel. She wanted to make this more interesting.
And interesting it shall be, since black marks suddenly started appearing on the grey haired boy.
...
Ever since Yuji Itadori foolishly swallowed one of his twenty fingers, he has been living inside of him.
His name was Ryomen Sukuna.
According to legend, during the golden age of jujutsu over 1000 years ago, Sukuna was an imaginary demon, though in truth was a human sorcerer. When all the other sorcerers banded together to defeat him, he became a cursed spirit since his curse was too strong for his body to be fully destroyed. Henceforth, his remains of 20 indestructible fingers preserved in grave was.
He is a selfish, cold-hearted and immoral spirit. He is aware of his immense power and is very arrogant about it. He wasn't called the king of curses for nothing.
He rarely takes on opponents seriously, but he is highly intelligent and manipulative.
Today, his host followed the one person he would admit to be a troublesome enemy, Gojo Satoru, to a café. Normally, he wouldn't even bother paying attention to it, if it wasn't for the fact that the waiter was not human, neither was the chef and neither was the thing sleeping at the desk.
This intrigued Sukuna so he started looking around. He agreed with Gojo on the fact that they weren't normal, and when Gojo was talking to Artoria, he was also talking to someone.
"Hey kid, lend me your body."
"Why?"
"Because the people at this restaurant are dangerous. I want to fight them."
"Wha-"
"Listen, I promise I won't hurt your friends when I incarnate. I just wanna see what's up with the guy over there."
Knowing he won't take no for an answer, Itadori sighed and gave permission.
...
The other two were now on guard since their friend changed, which only means one thing.
But contrary to their expectation, he looked at them, and got up and walked to the sleeping person, completely disregarding them.
"Hey you. Get up."
Rimuru stirred a little, before waking, only to see someone weird tattooed guy in front of him.
He was confused at first, but then an invisible wave of energy approached him.
"Innate Technique: Cleave."
This got Rimuru's attention. As much as he didn't want to leave, if the attack hit it would destroy half the café.
"[Teleport]"
They both disappeared in their place, including the attack as well.
And now it only left Medea and Artoria with the two people in the face, each one was as clueless as another.
It remained silent for a while before the orange-haired girl spoke up.
"So it seems like you're enemies. You're probably cursed spirits. No wonder they all started fighting." She got up and got out a hammer, "Megumi, seems like we're fighting too."
The now named Megumi stood up and got into a battle stance, "Nobara, if we die it's your fault."
Artoria seeing this felt a headache coming. She looked at Medea and nodded.
"Can we not do this here though?"
"Hmm?"
"There must be a reason they all left. Truthfully, I don't know what happened but if we are to fight, can we do it somewhere else?"
"Where?"
"I'll show you."
The two then changed the café sign to 'closed' and made their way to the elevator.
Having their guard up in case of tricks, they followed them and the door closed.
The trip up was, in a way, very awkward. The lift was big enough to fit 30 people, let alone 4, but to them it felt so cramped it was uncomfortable.
After the trip which felt like an eternity, they reached the 20th floor, where the two waiters commonly used.
After hearing a small gasp coming from Nobara's mouth, Medea started explaining.
"This is where we'll fight. You can go all out since the floor is quite durable. There's a lot of space as well so it's not cramped."
"Who made this place?" Megumi asked in disbelief.
"It was Ciel, the cook that the white-haired person left with."
At this point, both Megumi and Nobara both mentally thanked Gojo for taking out the big shots. After all, if she could make something like this, then did they stand a chance?
"We can fight freely here." Artoria added.
"Hey Megumi, who you taking?"
He looked at the two waiters who were silent.
"I'll fight the pink one."
"Then I'll fight the blondy."
Receiving confirmation, the two servants then donned their respective armour – or battle clothes.
Medea had a cloak around her, and a not-so-effective red sword shackled to her waist.
Artoria, on the other hand, had beautiful, blue and silver armour. In her hand appeared a golden sword, or that's what it would've looked like if it wasn't cloaked in invisible air.
"Damn Megumi, you sure you won't go easy on her? We all know what happens if you see a beautiful women."
"Shut up."
And thus, the fights began:
Gojo vs Ciel
Sukuna vs Rimuru
Megumi vs Medea
Nobara vs Artoria
