Chapter 26 - The Plan Is Set In Motion

Chapter 26 – The Plan Is Set In Motion

The first thing they did after landing in Japan was to get rich. They converted the left over currency into Japanese Yen, and bought an inconspicuous building for their meeting place.

"Right... time for information gathering..."

Proceeding as planned, they soon found out who the targets were.

"So, according to reliant sources,

All Might is the strongest hero, and rumour has it that he is going to teach at UA high this year.

Izuku Midoriya is actually one of the students there.

Tomuru Shigaraki currently has no sources of relevance to be found on the surface.

And All for One used to be a villain but was defeated by All Might 5 years ago, well that's a lie otherwise why would the mission state that we kill him?

Any questions?"

Hu Tao put her hand up, "yes!"

"Go on."

"Who's going to do what? Surely it would be quicker to complete them at the same time. We do have experience in fighting after all, so it shouldn't pose much a risk if we work separately right?"

"That does make sense," Ainz continued, "however, we are still a team, so we will work together. But, completing the tasks does not have to be at the same time. I propose an idea to work undercover for some people, and to work behind the scenes for others."

"First of all, we need to decide who will kill the kid, so basically who is going to attend school."

No one answered, since people still had their morality. It would look quite bad on their reputation if they volunteered to kill a kid, even if they were indifferent about it.

"Then, we would have to decide based off convenience. We need someone to get close to him, which means attending school. Currently, only Hu Tao and Kurumi has the looks of a teenager. This world is also quite developed, so using technology is a must."

All facts implies that Kurumi was the best option, so she didn't refuse, "then I will be undercover going to UA? And then finding an opportunity to kill the kid?"

"Yes. But don't kill him immediately. First, try to find clues about the one called Tomura Shigaraki. If that doesn't work out, then observe Izuku Midoriya to reveal why he is a target. It shouldn't take a more than a year, so this will be you role."

"I will gladly accept it." She was very happy that someone was taking the role of a leader, since she hated the lack of plans. As someone always scheming and planning, this was very important to her.

This was also why Ainz was pushed to become guildleader by his teammates.

"As for Medea, try and track down All For One. It won't be easy because he is rumoured to have died, so not many clues will surface. Do you think you can do it?"

"Yes."

"Good. As for me, I will also assist you in this endeavour. Hu Tao, you'll be a hero."

"Me? A Hero?"

"Yes, it is a wise and respected role in this society. If you succeed in getting fame, perhaps unlikely and important facts hidden from public will come to light."

"Where can I even become a hero?"

"I don't really know, but I propose that you start fighting villains in public. Let society witness your strength, and the authorities would ask for you to be a hero. After all, this would be the best way to approach a vigilante."

"Oooh. Makes sense. You're so dependable."

A faint smile appeared, and Ainz nodded.

"We will always stick as a team, so this building will be our headquarters. Kurumi, this will also be your house. This will remove suspicion. I will also be your legal father in this case, and I will try and get you into the school. I will also have to ask Medea to help me forge some documents. I appreciate that you may not come back on some nights, but do try and have a meal with us. Hu Tao... just make sure not to expose us okay? We all know how the last undercover mission went."

"""Yes."""

"How did the last undercover mission go?" A very intrigued Medea asked."

"NO NO! We don't talk about that!" Hu Tao protested.

"*Giggle. It was quite funny. Due to some circumstances, she was forced to become a mother. Then, they found out about it. As to what she said, I'll leave it to your imagination."

"Then what happened?"

"Well, they attacked us she had to send them off."

(Killed them so easily?) Medea began to look at Hu Tao in a new light.

She looked down and blushed at this though, "I'm not against killing people. As someone who sends people to the afterlife, a lot of the cases always involve death, so to an extent I'm not really bothered by death, but only if they are correctly sent into the afterlife without regrets."

Medea's respect jumped up a few levels for her.

"Although we are for business, don't let it keep you from enjoying this world. It is not every day that we can explore uncharted territories. Perhaps we will all learn something new as well. The mission is important, but do try and have some fun." Ainz concluded the meeting with this.

...

Soon, they were official residents of the world. Kurumi was the adopted daughter of Ainz, and both doesn't have a surname due to the fact that both 'didn't' know their parents.

Medea would remain in the dark, so only the necessary papers were filled, just in case something went wrong.

Hu Tao's backstory was that she was born in the mountains and stayed there for a long time. Then, her carers died, so she began to venture into the world. This would also explain why she was so unfamiliar with technology.

According to legal documents, Ainz's quirk was [Overlord], Medea's was [Element Manipulation] and Kurumi's was [Time Touch]. She was against such name since it made her a big target for many organisations, but Ainz refused her, saying that it is a good thing she will attract criminals. In his words, "we need a big firework to make the loudest noise that will attract the most attention".

...

"HELP! SOMEBODY HELP!" A desperate woman who was holding a child was screaming into the air, as 4 malicious people with disgusting looks on their faces drew nearer. They each had knives in their hands, and behind one, a bright flame burned, forming an extra limb. It acted like a tail, but could definitely be used as an arm.

She looked on helplessly as tears began to form at the edges of her eye. Although, her body was still running away, firmly but gently hugging the child.

But, the voices she feared never sounded again. Confused by the sudden change, she dared to stop and turn around, and met the flower-shaped pupils of Hu Tao.

In her hand was a clean and pure staff. It consisted of a long light-brown pole, and at the top was a very luxuriously decorated pattern of gold and red. There seemed to be a fire shaped extension reaching out, further increasing the length. In the middle was a single glowing red orb that was currently burning in a white and red glow.

This was Hu Tao's treasured weapon that she smartly spent her points on, and it was the only thing she bought that was semi-useful with points.

[Staff of Homa (Legendary+)]

It was a weapon that could cleans by fire all that is impure, to allow the impurities to rise with the flames unto the desired target. Only with fire in their hearts can they hear and feel the power it can bestow.

When Hu Tao browsed the shop, this weapon called out to her. She then became dead set on buying it. Over 20000 points later it was hers, and it was the greatest purchase she ever made.

She loved the weapon and how convenient it was. Unbound by any worldly laws, she can store it in her soul and call it out whenever. It was also indestructible and very powerful. It was only after this that she became poor.

Anyway, next to her were 4 unconscious bodies on the floor. Their hands were charred black.

She then approached the woman, who was very scared and cautious of her, and leaned forwards with her staff resting on her back. The light in the centre of the orb also dimmed a bit.

"Hey! My name's Hu Tao, what's yours?"

"S-shiro..."

"Shiro? Nice name. By the way, you don't need to worry now, since I have defeated them. Their hands are beyond repair, so they can no longer do anymore bad stuff."

"Th-thanks..."

"Your welcome!" A bright smile spread across her face, and the woman finally relaxed, but then sirens rang behind them.

Then, multiple cars with police in smart uniform rushed onto the scene. Some located and identified the bodies, whilst the others went directly to them.

They first escorted the victim before confronting Hu Tao, meanwhile she was deep in thought.

(So these are the ones called the 'police'. Do they not have quirks? What gave them the courage to rush onto a crime scene armed with only projectiles? What if they meet someone who was immune, how careless?)

She silently mocked them, but didn't show any expression apart from vigilance and confusion, as she was supposed to act.

Her staff began to glow again, and she readied her stance.

"Woah woah there! We don't want to fight."

An officer put his hands up, but the people behind him had guns pointing to her head, which likely did not help the situation.

"And who are you?"

"We are the police, and you are using quirks unauthorised to harm people."

"Is that not allowed? I was helping her."

"If you are a hero yes. We checked and there are no records of you being a hero, so we can only arrest you and question you later. Sorry about this."

"Hey hey! If you try anything I will fight you know?"

Then, a strong aura of heat emanated from her staff, and her entire body had a thin layer of blue flame around it.

Sensing the heat, the officer's face paled and looked towards the others on what to do, but then another stepped up.

"We do not wish to fight. If you may be so kind to allow us to ask a question?"

"Go on then."

"Do you wish to be a hero? Currently you are not and is subjected to arrest and maybe imprisonment, but I'm sure that the situation can solve itself if you register as a pro hero."

She internally smiled.

"A pro hero?"

"Yes, but there will be some admin stuff to do."

"Admin?"

"Yes, for example, who you are, or your quirk, and where you are from. For someone who has such a strong quirk..." he trailed off there.

"A quirk?" She still carried on her ignorance.

"What do you mean 'a quirk'? Do you really not know what it is?"

She just tilted her head to one side and put a finger to her mouth, "no."

The officer was very confused as he had never been in such a predicament before. Sighing to himself, he gestured to her to follow him into the car.

"Don't worry, we won't take any action now. Just please come with us and go back to the station. We will carry on from there."

She narrowed her eyes, before the layer of flame and the pressure of heat drastically decreased, much to the relief of the others.

"Okee!"

(Hehehe! Step one completed just like Ainz said. I'm soooo good at acting. Ainz is so responsible also, he's soo smart if he knew this would happen. Hehe.)

She giggled internally, whilst in the car. On the outside, she maintained a curious expression as she examined the car and the windows, whilst pretending to be interested in the passing view.
