Chapter 51 - On the Last Stage

Chapter 51 – On the Last Stage

It was a bright morning, and as soon as the sun rose everyone started roaming the streets.

However, a commotion was heard around the entrance area, and everyone excitedly gathered there, as they thought Faputa would make another appearance, which wasn't wrong.

...

"Are you ready?" Misaka stood next to Faputa.

"Faputa is ready sosu." In Faputa's hand held a weird looking sword. It's red with orange lines, and most importantly was that the blade was bent into triangle shapes.

Medea gave her this weapon and said it was enough to break the membrane, all she had to do was jab it in.

"Then good luck..." As she said this, Misaka's body became shiny, and all colour became white. Then, her body shrunk down and rested on Faputa's shoulder.

Meanwhile, Faputa menacingly walked to the entrance.

"Hey Reg, what's that in her hand?"

"I don't know... maybe an artifact?"

"I haven't seen an artifact like that before." Vueko followed, "and plus she is walking towards the entrance confidently... perhaps, she found a way? Without Reg?"

"Without me? Is there something else that can resist the force of the Abyss?"

"We'll have to see then."

She was only a few steps away, and all the Narehates looked on in anticipation.

Calmly and slowly, she lowered her head, and one of her four arms that held the [Rule Breaker] made it's way to the membrane.

Gently, she inserted it into the imaginary wall, and cracks spread all over.

To everyone's confusion and horror, the village's shield was no more, and as the weapon dispersed in her hand, Faputa looked back up with a different gaze of hatred, and her body soon transformed into something different.

...

"Hey Reg, how is that possible?"

"I don't know. But I need to stop her now, otherwise she will kill everyone here..."

However, escaping his senses, Misaka flashed behind Riko and chopped her neck, causing her to fall unconscious. That left only Reg, Vueko and Nanachi who was still with Beluf.

"What? Misaka?!"

"Hi Reg, we meet again. Although I am reluctant, it is for the better." Swiftly moving her hand at Reg, she was somewhat surprised when he dodged with speed she didn't expect.

"Put Riko down!"

Sighing, Misaka magnetised the dust on the floor into a solid hand shape, and laid Riko in it.

An arm soon met her face, but she didn't dodge or falter, and when the attack hit nothing happened.

She didn't get knocked back, and still stood with confidence.

"We need to go somewhere else. This place is Faputa's stage" Disregarding any resistance he had, Misaka waved her arms and Reg flew to the opposite side of the village.

...

"Faputa..." Vueko looked on at how she slaughtered all the Narehates.

"DIE! ARRGHG!" She slashed whilst screaming loudly.

Blood and guts flew everywhere, and gory scenes of limbs and other body parts filled the area. Even with the resistance of the Narehates, they didn't stand a chance against Faputa who had the entire strength of the village on her side.

Although, though she was in a frenzy, she seemed to purposefully ignore the area where Vueko was. All the flying guts and bodies also happened to avoid her body.

Taking action, she sprinted with all she had in front of Faputa and spread her arms out.

"FAPUTA! *cough You don't ha *cough *cough." Obviously she needed some cough medicine.

"Vueko... one of the only ones mother loved... stay out of this. Faputa only has to kill the Narehates. You can be spared nosu."

"No... but they-"

"This is mother's wish. Please don't resist sosu"

Then she started to ignore her, back to ripping the residents to shreds.

Vueko watched on helplessly and could only do nothing.

...

Currently, Misaka and Reg was engaged in a fierce battle, if one could call it that.

The situation escalated ever since Misaka zapped him with electricity, and he became out of control.

"Incinerator." A large blast charged up in his hand, and a devastating beam of energy was launched at Misaka.

Unfortunately, not even she could resist such a force, and her body was annihilated. Just as Reg was going to go to the place Faputa was, Misaka's body regenerated from nothing.

"That was quite dangerous. I would've died if that was my real body. Phew! Thank god I have this skill." Talking to herself, Misaka raised her hand and lifted Reg's body up high into the air.

Then, she moved her palm down really fast, and Reg's body did the same.

He was slammed into the ground, helplessly resisting, but physics and science was unfortunately stronger than his magical abilities.

She picked him up again, then slammed him down, then repeated until Reg was completely out cold.

"Now, for the next target..."

...

"Nanachi..."

"Huh what?"

"You are finally awake. It is time. You can leave and see your friends now."

"What? What happened?"

"Our judgement has arrived. She has passed the membrane and will kill everyone here."

"What? We have to stop her then, whoever she is."

"No. resistance is futile and it is impossible to stop her. She is immortal and will not stop until all of us are dead."

"And you're just going to accept it?"

"Yes. We deserve this anyway. You can go now. I have removed the contracts binding you here. Although you can't take Mitty with you."

"Why not?"

"She was brought here, and is officially a resident of the village. As soon as she goes outside the vicinity, she will disappear, just like any other resident. I can still resist it somewhat. Ah, you're here."

Misaka entered the cave, with a knocked-out Reg and Riko behind her.

"I've come for Nanachi."

"Yes, just as expected. Please take her away." Before Nanachi could respond, she was electrocuted and fell on the ground.

"No lasting damage was done, I just cut of the signal to her brain for a while and she lost consciousness."

"Indeed, a very powerful ability. Anyway, it is my time to go."

"Umm..."

His body stopped and waited for her.

"You are walking to your death. How are you so calm?"

"Calm? I haven't been calm for the past 150 years. Everyday, I regret what I have done in the past, so dying is a release for me. Maybe, if you go through the things I went through, you would understand."

(That's exactly what Medea said. Is everyone thinking I'm immature?)

"Thank you for this, and for helping Faputa, and for helping Irumyuui. It is my time now. I would say until we meet again, but I am going to hell so perhaps not. You have a fulfilling and interesting life ahead of you, so don't meet the grave so soon, and enjoy the opportunities you have!

I bid you farewell." Without waiting for a reply, he left a puzzled Misaka and slithered into the sky.

...

Medea surveyed the area around the village in the sky, and as expected, torrents of creatures rushed towards it.

The most notable one were the ones she identified as Turbinid-Dragons. She has seen some on her way here, and they were truly impressive.

They resemble a dinosaur with a long neck and a beak-like mouth. They have poisonous scales like reptiles that act like a carapace and their old scales rupture when struck and release the strong poison inside them.

They had six long legs to support their body.

Two of them were walking towards the village, and under were all sorts of other creatures that live on the 6th layer.

Narrowing her eyes at them, hundreds of magical circles formed behind her.

"[Compound Magic: 6 Element Barage]" Then, thousands of different colour balls of elements rained down on them.

Some turned to ice and froze everything in it's path. Some turned into fire and burnt everything to ashes. Some became a strong gust of wind and blew everything backwards. And when two orbs merged, their functions combined to become more deadly.

...

Misaka flew back to where they were going to rendezvous, making sure to not let them ascend more than 10 meters since she can't reject the force of the Abyss on them. Well, Reg was unaffected anyway.

Half way through the flight, a towering Narehate suddenly jumped up from the ground with a mucus-covered sword and swung it down onto Misaka.

Taken off guard, she threw the three people she was transporting into a suitable location on the floor and covered them in chemically-arranged diamond-alloy, so they were fine from the impact.

But Misaka wasn't.

For the nth time, her body was battered up again due to her carelessness.

(Is this why they call me immature? For god's sake...)

Standing up and recovering from her injuries, she looked up at the towering figure.

"Why aren't you helping with Faputa? Shouldn't you go there instead of helping me?" She shouted, but as Juroimoh was the dumbest sage of the three, he didn't listen and blindly swung his sword down again, decimating the area around Misaka.

This time however, she remained unaffected as she put up a shield beforehand.

"High durability... has the help of the village... one of the three sages Juroimoh... massive in size... how annoying. I can't think of a way to normally defeat you without hurting anyone else. There's only one way..."

No, there were multiple ways, but she ignored all but one.

An evil grin crept up her face.

Her body started to zap, like a broken TV screen.

Sparks flew off uncontrollably, and her eyes glowed bright yellow, then white.

The area around her started to twist from the dense force, but the diamond-alloy still stood strong.

Then, all the force stopped. An eery peace and silence descended, and Juroimoh took advantage of this to swing down once again.

BOOM!

A pure, true beam of absolute force met Juroimoh.

A 5 meter radius laser formed from Misaka, and it only expanded as it got further away.

The end of it wasn't completely destructive, but instead grabbed onto Juroimoh body, and knocking it backwards, following the direction of the beam.

The source of it all, Misaka, slowly aimed upwards, and that's where Juroimoh went.

Long surpassing the 10 meter ascending limit, the curse was already in effect, and his body was also disappearing since he left the vicinity of the village, but none of that mattered.

He continued upwards and upwards, pass the clouds and through the sky.

Because of the force of the Abyss, somehow the sky stretched endlessly, so his body carried on ascending upwards.

Until reaching a critical point, where Misaka stopped. The laser decreased in radius until a thin thread before nothing, as if nothing happened.

But if one looked into the sky, the remains of it was still there.

The entire sky became silent. Then, 3 flashes of brightness could be felt.

And the tip exploded.

With a force equalling or even surpassing that of an atomic bomb, another sun expanded in the sky and burned a fiery red.

It was a pure unit of absolute force.

Although, such an explosion wouldn't go unnoticed, but Medea seeing this conjured multiple barriers around.

Illusion, protective, heat-dispelling, radiation-cancelling... everything she could think of from an atomic bomb.

(That idiot has done it again...)

After the brief interlude, or distraction one could say, Misaka successfully brought the required people to the place they agreed on.

She sent Medea a signal, and flew back to the village.

...

"Faputa is pretty much done now, so it is time for the final act...

I hope... that after this, all the poor souls that are suffering will rest in peace...

I shall perform this final blow as a parting gift to you!

I will tell you of the beginning,

Heaven and Earth split, nothingness congratulated creation,

My Sword of Rupture cleaved the world!

Mortar of the stars,

heaven's hell is the eve of creation's celebration.

Now you shall die and be silent

[Enuma Elish]"
