Chapter 3

Michael groaned a bit before he slowly got up as he used his arms to support himself as he pushed himself off the floor. He was a bit dazed but he then remembered what had happened a few moments ago as his eyes widened. He then looked at himself and was surprised to see that his body was okay and didn't have any of the bruises that he previously had. His body also wasn't in pain as he looked at himself shocked.

"Don't be too shocked. I didn't want you to die so early." The voice of the armored man got him out of his thoughts.

Michael looked towards where the voice came from and saw the man sitting on the throne again. Michael looked at the man and saw a distinct lack of the ten bracelets on his arms.

"The trial?" Michael asked the man.

"You've passed the trial and so you've proven yourself worthy of my power and becoming a Player. My rings are proof of that." The man said to him.

"Rings?" Michael asked confused.

But then to his surprise the ten rings that were on the man's forearms appeared in his forearms surprising him.

"Those are my Mystical Rings, you will get information about them in your menu after you leave this place." The man said to him.

"What kind of bracelets are these? Or rings?" Michael asked the man.

"They're not bracelets. They are rings, I think they are called Hung Gar Iron Bars in your world. Anyways, just know that they are a great weapon and you will learn about them in your menu. You already have the skill so it's fine." The man said to him.

"Oh uh, thanks. Can I know your name since I am getting your power?" Michael asked the man.

"Shen." The man simply said to him.

"Okay then Shen. Thanks for the power." Michael said to him as the man nodded.

"Now leave." Shen ordered him.

"Okay." Michael said with a nod and walked to the door.

He gave one last look at Shen before he opened the door and exited the place and closed the door as he found himself back at the hospital room. He blinks a few times to adjust his sight before looking around him at the hospital room. Then he looked at his forearms which have the ten rings from Shen.

"I am a Player." Michael said to himself as if to affirm his current state.

Then a screen appeared in front of him as he watched it which was titled as tutorial as he looked at it.

[HP: 128/128]

[MP: 80/80]

[STR: 21]

[DEF: 17]

[AGI: 23]

[Skill: Ten Rings of Shen]

Michael looked at the screen and at his stats as he looked through it.

"Okay, I need to know about the skill." Michael said as he slowly touched the Ten Rings of Shen.

Then the screen showed information about the Ten Rings as he read it.

[Skill: Ten Rings of Shen

Description: Gives the Player the Rings of Shen which can be used to fight and defend. The rings can disappear and appear on the Players forearms. This rings have a mental connection to the Player and can appear and disappear on the Player however they wish. They also project an energy which can be used by the Player and won't consume SP at normal level and make energy constructs with the rings as a core. However the use of higher amount of energy requires the use of SP. Each ring has the ability to multiply one stat of the Player and consumes one SP each time the ability is used on a Ring.]

Michael read through the skill with wide eyes as he fully read it as his eyes were wide open as his mouth fell open at the skill. He then looked at the rings on his forearms and looked at them in wonder.

"These Rings have such an amazing ability and I can use it in other ways as well. With this I can fight on long and close range and it's ability to multiply my stats will greatly help. Not to mention the ways I can use it to fight. Though, considering that each ring consumes one SP each, if I were to use ten rings together then I can use the skill 8 times before running out of SP. I'm surprised this isn't a Gold Skill, though I guess I'm asking for too much, I should be glad that I at least managed to become a Player." Michael said to him with a sigh.

Then he noticed another piece of info about the Rings as he scrolled down and read it as his eyes went over it.

[The Rings once launched from the arms cannot disappear until they return to the Players arms and so the Player can't make the Rings appear and disappear without them being present on his body. The rings can be used on all four limbs as well. Currently each ring is only able to multiply a stat by 2.]

"That's good to know. So I have to make sure that I don't use all of the Rings at once." Michael said to himself before he looked at his forearms.

He then wanted the Rings to disappear and they did. He then made them appear and disappear again and again so that he could get used to the feeling so he could call on them easily. He then turned and looked at his mother.

"I will get stronger and make more money to help you mom." Michael said to his mother even though she couldn't hear him.

He sighed at this before he took his bag and exited the room as it was close to closing hours as he went back to his apartment. Tomorrow was a holiday so he could use the time to get more familiar with his skill and then register to the Players Association.

Thinking that he reached home and went through his daily routine and ate his lunch before sitting and watching the TV as he saw the news. It showed news about how Arun had cleared a 4 star Gate which is being covered by the news.

"I have to work hard if I need to make more money and get stronger." Michael said to himself as he watched the news.

He then summoned the Rings and then golden energy covered his hands as his eyes widened before a smile appeared on his face.

"Well, I guess I have some time to train." Michael said with a smile.

Time skip

"So this is the Players Association." Michael said in awe as he looked at the large building of the Players Association.

The association building is very large, probably one of the largest in the country, the one in Kerala is a branch of it but he is glad that he is able to make it here. He then entered the building and saw many people around him. Many of them were wearing weapons, staff and different type of clothes that would normally seen in fantasy games.

'These must be the other Players.' Michael thought to himself as he looked around him.

He then walked towards the counter and the staff there noticed him.

"Yes, how may I help you?" The lady staff asked him with a smile.

The staff here is dressed in black suits as she smiled at him as she addressed him.

"Yes, I would like to register myself as a Player." Michael said to the staff.

"Alright sir, then please answer some of my questions so I can register you in our database." The staff said to him with a smile.

After that he got registered as a Player and he got an account for himself as he looked at his phone. After that she gave him information regarding the compensation for clearing a Gate. 1* Gate has 1,000,000 rupees, 2* Gate has 5,000,000 rupees, 3* Gate for 10,000,000 rupees, 4* Gate has 40,000,000 rupees, and finally 5* Gate has 100,000,000 rupees.

Michael's eyes widened when he saw the amount of money that the Players get. But when he really thought about it, it made sense as they risk their lives to clear a Gate and prevent it from opening. The world already saw what the monsters from 1* Gates can do so he figured it made sense.

'Well, that means I will get a lot of money as long as I'm willing to put my life on the line.' Michael thought to himself as he looked at his phone.

Then he looked at the staff as she looked at him with a face as if she already knows what he is about to ask her.

"Can you tell me if there are any 1 star gates here?" Michael asked the staff as she nodded to his words.

She then started to look at her computer before looking back at him.

"There is one near here. Would you like to reserve it?" The staff asked him with a smile.

"Uh yeah, I would like to reserve it." Michael said to her.

"Okay then. And done, that Gate has been registered to you so please make sure to clear it." The staff said to him as he nodded to her.

"Thank you." Michael said to her as she nodded.

Then he walked out of the association building and looked at the location of the Gate and nodded to himself. Then he ran from the association as he wanted to get to the Gate before any other Player were to come and get it. He knew that even if he had reserved it another Player might just claim it as their own so he hurried.
