Chapter 29

"Well, that was fun." Michael said with a smile as he and Gayatri had just roamed around the city.

With their strength it didn't take much to quickly go from one famous place to another as they enjoyed the sights of the place. Since they were already there they didn't see any problems is taking a tour of the place. Their primary reason for coming to the city has already been completed so there is no problems with them wandering the city.

"Yeah. The street foods are also pretty tasty as well. Even though I had come here for the meeting this is also a good way to spend the time." Gayatri said as she nodded to him in agreement.

"You can say that again, not everyday you can come to the city, ah, well, it's not like that for us anymore anyways." Michael said before realising that he can come to the city whenever he wanted, granted he would have to run, but the fact that he can come to the city whenever he wanted still counts.

"Yeah, I mean, we can get here in under a day with our abilities soo, that doens't include us." Gayatri said as she knew that Players are like that.

"Yeah, though you didn't buy anything from here. Why?" Michael asked as he lifted his bag containing some souvenirs.

"We already have a lot back home. So there is no reason for me to buy them." Gayatri said with a shrug.

"Right. You guys are rich due to Arun." Michael said with a chuckle.

Gayatri looked at them when he heard her as she thought about his situation, knowing about how his mother's condition is she sighed to herself and looked at him.

"Hey Michael?" Gayatri called him as he looked at her.

"Yes?" Michael said as he looked at her.

"Do you, I don't know, dislike us for not helping you mother?" Gayatri asked him a bit hesitantly.

Michael's eyes widened when he heard her question as she wondered if she had asked a wrong question. Michael contemplated her question as she looked at him, waiting for an answer as she was growing nervous.

"Well, if I have to say it outright, then no." Michael said to her as he looked at her.

"Huh?" Gayatri let out a noise in surprise and confusion.

"Don't get me wrong, I know that you guys with your wealth would have been able to pay the bills. But it was a long time back and we had drifted apart, both the two of us and our families. Besides, you don't have any obligations to help my mother." Michael said to her calmly.

"But... we could've helped you know." Gayatri said to him as she looked at him.

"Maybe so, but right now that's not what happened. I became a Player and have amassed money needed to start the surgery. Not to mention, if it weren't for the fact that I was frustrated over the condition of my mom, I wouldn't have been able to become a Player." Michael said to her seriously.

"Really? You're not angry at me or my family?" Gayatri asked him surprised.

"The past is the past. There is no use dwelling on it. What I want to focus on is what is happening right now. And right now I want to help my mom and repair our broken relationship." Michael said to her with a small smile.

"Oh." Gayatri simply said as she looked at him.

She then looked down as she contemplated the words she has just heard from him, and she could tell that he doesn't hold any hostility towards her or her family for what had happened to his mother. She honestly felt happy about it and the fact that he doesn't have any kind of negative thoughts about them and the fact that he wants to repair their relationship is also a nice thing.

"Thank you." Gayatri said to him with a smile.

"For what?" Michael asked her a bit confused.

"For not holding a grudge against us. I know not many would be like that." Gayatri said to him with a small smile.

"Of course I wouldn't. You are my childhood friend, I can't hold a grudge against you." Michael said as he rubbed her head.

Gayatri froze up when she felt his hand on her head as he also realised it as he immediately withdrew his hand from her head as he looked at her as he waved his hand left and right frantically.

"Sorry sorry, I did that unconsciously." Michael said as he tried to plead his case.

Gayatri looked at him when she heard that. She was in thought as he looked at her nervously, thinking about what she is currently thinking in her mind and hoping that she wouldn't take it as an insult.

"It's... fine. You did it unconsciously." Gayatri said to him as she looked at him.

"Oh, thanks. Sorry about that, really." Michael said as he apologized to her earnestly.

"I told you, it's fine." Gayatri said to him as she turned her face away as she blushed.

'Having him rub my head felt good.' Gayatri thought to herself as she controlled herself.

"I see. Well, since we are done sightseeing, what do you plan to do?" Michael asked her curiously as he decided on a different topic.

"I am thinking of going back home, no use in staying in here for longer than actually needed." Gayatri said to him as she looked at him.

"Gotta agree on that. I was also planning to go back, just wanted to know what you were planning to do." Michael said to her with a smile.

"Well, then why don't we go together? Since we do live in the same area." Gayatri said to him with a small smile.

"Sure. Let's go." Michael said to her as she smiled at his words.

Gayatri smiled at him in turn and nodded as he secured his souvenirs. Then the two ran quickly and dashed through the streets with great speeds as they quickly left the city in the direction of their home.

'Maybe I can become close to her like in the past sooner than I thought.' Michael thought to himself as he ran.

'He truly is a good person. I must make sure to be by his side like before. It's the least I could do.' Gayatri thought to herself as she ran beside him.
