Ch.1 - the beginning

Rain pours heavily outside my window. Its quite warm outside. As I write in my notebook, I think about what happened. The last few day of school.

The fifth to last day of school. How I found out my friend, Takashi, of a few months, has had a crush on me all along. He barely moved here a year ago, and while we barely became friends four months ago. I feel sick to my stomach every time I think about it. My sister, Hoshi, who has a crush on him, doesn't know about it. I feel bad for my Hoshi. She has otome games so I think she's ok.

I'm not that special, so why would someone like him, like me. I'm nice to everyone, I make straight A's, I'm average lookin, and I like books. Nothing special about me. Just some random person you became friends with.

Even though he said he likes me, I said 'no' end of conversation. Simple as that, right? I said we can still be friends, no matter what, even if he still likes me. I thought that conversation was it, that we would still be friends even after all that. But no, I was too insensitive about his feelings, and after that day, his whole personality changed.

Before his personality changed, he was shy, nice, a bit quite, and whenever someone said something nice about him he turned red like a tomato. But now he was cold, distant, and acted like he was a cool popular. Everyone called him the 'Ice Prince', or something like that, I don't really know. He ignores me in the hallway, stopped saying hi to me in class. It broke my heart a little bit every day because he was my best friend.

I decided I had to talk to him again and explain how I felt about him ignoring me and of how I was insensitive of his feelings. But when I tried approaching him after school on the fourth day till summer, it seemed like he was avoiding me. He kept looking at his feet and everytime I tried to walk up to him he moved farther and farther away. This was hopeless.

Then the next day, the third day till summer, I decided I had enough of his crap, I needed to catch up to him somehow, and talk things out with him. As I was walking to my normal route home, I saw him, Takashi, I felt like today was the day to finally talk things out with him!

But he was too far ahead and he wouldn't talk to me so easily. I had to come up with a plan.

I think for like five seconds, then the thought hit me.

You know what? I'm gonna chase and tackle him. Nothing could go wrong except that I might get hurt. Well, I got nothing to lose and it's my best option. So far ... here goes nothing!

Evan gets ready to charge.

As Evan begins to to sprint towards the so called 'Ice Prince' Takashi, he flipping trips on a rock and starts to tumble down towards him. What an idiot.

What a great way to go!

Thinking he'll fall to his death he waits for impact.

...

But wait! Instead of dieing he gets pulled up from off the ground.

He slowly opens his eyes.

"I think I see the light!", Evan says dramatically.

"... What the heck! Um, anyway, are you okay?", a girl says.

"H-hoshi! Is that really you!", Evan says surprised.

"Yeah, anyway, we have to go home, also what were you doing?", Hoshi asks.

"Oh ... um I was chasing Takashi, I was trying to talk to him, but he already left... ", Evan mumbles

"Uh, okay ... anyway let's go home. Oh yeah! My new game came! Wanna play with me?", Hoshi says excited.

"Yeah ... sure, why not? ", Evan says

They then begin to walk to their house.

.

.

.

Once there, Hoshi picks up her package, that was in front of their door.

"Look! It's my new game!", Hoshi says excited, Evan nods smiling. Then unlocks the door and they go inside, shutting the door behind them.

"So, how was school?", Evan asks Hoshi.

"It was ok. Nothing new and you?", Hoshi says

"Same. Just a bit weird", Evan says a bit blankly, Hoshi brushes it off.

"Let's play my game tomorrow, I'm not really up to play the game today. Plus, I'm tired", Hoshi says to Evan as she goes up the stairs towards her bedroom.

"Uh, okay. You go get some sleep, I'll just prepare our lunches for tomorrow", Evan says, going to the kitchen.

.

.

After Evan is done making their lunches, he puts them away, and heads up the stairs towards the bathroom. He takes a shower, brushes his teeth, and goes to his room to change.

.

After he is done changing into some comfortable clothes to sleep in, he gets ready to go to bed, but before, he sets his alarm. He then goes to sleep.

.

.

.

The next day, second to last day till summer.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

Evan wakes up, groaning because he still has to wake up early. He gets up from his bed and turns off his alarm. He sits there for a few moments, then gets up from the bed and walks over to his closest, getting changed for school.

After he is done changing, he heads down stairs, where Hoshi is already at. Taking their lunches out of the fridge.

"When do you think mom and dad will come back?", Hoshi asks.

"Probably next week, don't worry, they'll be back soon, like always", Evan responds.

They start getting their things ready for school and after they are done they start heading towards school.

.

.

.

As they are walking to school they stop at a convenience store. They get some bread and milk, then head off back on their way to school.

.

.

Once they arrived, they head to their classroom.

As Evan takes his seat, he starts to drink his milk and eat his bread. After he is done he throws away the trash and sits back in his seat. As the bell rings, the teacher walks in and sits in his chair.

"Today we'll have a free day! Since tomorrow is the last day of school, please don't get too loud", the teacher says.

"Can we have our phones out, Mr. Danish?", Peter, one of Evans other friends ask.

"Sure why not, just don't go on anything bad. I mean since it's the almost the last day of school till we get out and you don't want to be in trouble", Mr. Danish says to Peter.

"Heck yeah! Thanks Mr. Danish!", Peter says excitedly.

"No problem", Mr. Danish responses.

.

.

.

After school ends, Peter and Evan start heading home.

"Hey? Can we hang out today? Since tomorrow is the last day of school?", Peter asks Evan while they walk together.

"Sure, where should we go today? Maybe the park? Or we can get some treats at the convenience store?", Evan responds back, kicking a pebble forward.

"I'd say the convenience store, cause I'm hungry! Ha ha!", Peter says playfully.

They start to walk towards the direction of the convenience store.
