Chapter 546: The Third Legendary Synthetic Beast

"What do you want? You've already taken all my possessions." The Ancient White Dragon, Buck, looked at Muria with a face full of terror. Muscle and skin were regenerating on its body, with faint traces of scales beginning to appear. It had heard the term "blood and flesh alchemy."

"Nothing much, just some modifications." Muria glanced at the slowly recovering Ancient White Dragon. The elemental concentration in Synapse was much higher than in ordinary regions, considering the high number of superior beings residing here. "Don't worry, I won't kill you."

"Modification, bio-alchemist!" The dragon's eyes filled with even more fear. When these two words were put together, they didn't bring to mind anything good, especially when applied to oneself.

"Muria, Your Highness!" Over thirty biological researchers from Synapse promptly arrived via teleportation array in response to Muria's summons. Their eyes were immediately drawn to Buck, the white-scaled dragon at Muria's feet. These were some of the smartest beings in Synapse, and it didn't take long for them to deduce why Muria had called them.

"Vile mortals," Buck roared, feeling deeply uncomfortable as he was stared at by a group of humans who looked at him like an experimental subject. "Get away from me."

"Your Highness, have you summoned us to deal with this ancient dragon?" None of the alchemists showed any fear toward the dragon, which had been restrained by Muria. They had dissected legendary creatures before, and their eyes gleamed with eager anticipation.

"That's correct. I believe we can use this dragon as the foundation for creating Synapse's third synthetic beast." Muria tapped his metal chair with his left hand, uttering words that made the alchemists visibly excited.

"Your Grace, this is a complete Ancient White Dragon. Is it really necessary to modify it?" One alchemist spoke up, emphasizing that the core of blood and flesh modification was to turn useless flesh into combat power, infringing on the divine right to create life.

"I think it's very necessary." Muria stomped Buck's head into the ground as the dragon nodded vigorously. "I am dissatisfied with both its mentality and appearance. I summoned you to transform it."

"What specific requirements do you have?"

"First and foremost, the most important thing: don't kill it." Muria kicked Buck. "Ancient Dragons are hard to come by. During the synthesis, be cautious. If you accidentally kill this one, I can't get another."

"Understood!" The alchemists exchanged glances and then responded sporadically. Over the years, they had learned Muria's preferences—practicality was paramount, but aesthetics were also important. When given a choice, Muria preferred practicality.

"Second, ensure that it becomes as mighty and beautiful as possible while retaining its combat capabilities. I plan to forge a battle chariot, and I want it to be the beast that pulls it."

"Got it!" The alchemists responded, understanding Muria's emphasis on combining utility with appearance.

"Third, unlike the Bloodshed Shadow and Azure Feather Enchantress, this synthetic beast doesn't need reproductive abilities. You can remove them."

"Are you a devil?" Hearing Muria's third condition, Buck went berserk. To neuter a vigorous dragon was a loss as significant as having its treasure stolen—only, one was physical, and the other was mental.

"A devil is merely my servant." Muria responded nonchalantly, then kicked and broke the white dragon's jaw to stop its roaring. He then turned to the alchemists.

"Fourth, within the constraints of the first three points, feel free to use your creativity," Muria said with a smile. He knew that too many restrictions would limit the alchemists' creativity.

"Thank you for your trust." This was one of the reasons the alchemists enjoyed working for Muria. He was very open-minded and not as shortsighted as human rulers, imposing minimal restrictions and conditions.

"I wonder how soon these guys can complete the chariot-pulling beast I need." Muria pondered as he watched the alchemists leave, eagerly dragging the Ancient Dragon away.

He then turned his gaze to the busty maid, Mia. Nowadays, Dragon Maid Mia had become an indispensable figure in Synapse, in various senses.

"Master, there are some matters I need to report to you."

"Go ahead."

"Your contract partners, Lord Tohru and Miss Indira, have been away from Synapse for nearly ten years."

"Where are they?" Muria sensed Tohru's state through their soul contract and felt relieved when he found it was fine.

"In the Kingdom of Lockman!" Mia said, as expected by Muria. "Ever since you fell into slumber, Lord Tohru and Miss Indira have frequently traveled to the Kingdom of Lockman, staying longer each time. Eventually, unless there was an external attack, they were hardly ever seen."

"Is that so?" Muria mused for a moment, thinking of the blue-haired, red-eyed loli queen managing a kingdom alone. "Let them be. As long as they're happy."

"Master Muria, there's one more thing. It's a proposal regarding the Synapse's magical energy mechanism. Please take a look." Mia operated the magical system of Muria's castle, projecting a three-dimensional screen in front of him. A plan, almost insane in its scope, was displayed.

"Are these humans crazy? Converting a cloud island into a floating city is not something that can be rushed. There's no need for such madness. For now, Synapse should focus on stability." After carefully reviewing the plan, Muria decisively rejected it.

As a moving sky domain, Synapse had enormous energy consumption due to the various laboratories and magical facilities. This significant energy shortfall had been somewhat alleviated after Muria captured several legendary beings to serve as energy sources, but it was still insufficient. Currently, a significant portion of Synapse's energy was derived from elemental crystals—in other words, they were burning money.

Energy was a major issue for Synapse. The magical energy department had been striving to solve this problem, with their ultimate goal being to create elemental pools on every cloud island. However, this goal exceeded their capabilities, leading them to turn their attention to the Wind King Eagle.
