Chapter 548: The Titan Father's and Golden Dragon Mother's Dispute

"Oh, Ansor, have you informed Muria?" Atreus, reclining on the throne forged from a blend of nine legendary metals, tilted her head slightly as she noticed her life partner tearing through the space to return.

"Yes, I have told him and conveyed our decision," Ansor nodded.

"He must not have taken it well."

"Indeed, he even suggested waiting until he advances to the Epic level and using source power to bear offspring. That's utter nonsense; source power isn't meant for such uses."

"As expected. If he accepted it quietly, I'd be worried." Atreus, the Golden Dragon mother, leaned lazily against the throne. "Honestly, I don't want to interfere with his choices. I'd prefer to respect his own will."

"But he's already broken through to Legendary."

"Yes, he has. If we don't hurry, we might never see our future granddaughter." Atreus sighed softly. "I didn't expect Muria to break through so quickly. With 128 rings of soul intent, his formidable potential indicated an even more solid Legendary barrier. Even if it took him two or three centuries to break through, I wouldn't have been surprised. But who would have thought the old man would give him such a large portion of divinity, allowing him to reach Legendary before he even turned a hundred? It's sheer madness."

"Perhaps your father, Dragon King Imos, was influenced by the drop of source blood he gifted Muria during his youth, and this time it finally manifested."

"I remember the old man gave Muria a Void Egg that time, and the little creature that hatched from it was adorable and full of potential. I really liked it."

"Perhaps he felt it wasn't enough." Ansor shook his head. He couldn't very well go and question his father-in-law now, as the Barbarian Lord had been in a deep slumber since the end of the Abyssal War.

"We're left to clean up his mess." Atreus sighed deeply again. She hadn't wanted to meddle in Muria's personal affairs, but when it concerned the continuation of their race, she had no choice but to intervene.

"Have you found suitable candidates?" Ansor inquired. Despite his love for battle, he had to set aside his war spear and temporarily play the role of a strict father.

"I've selected them. Take a look and see which one you think is most suitable for Muria." Atreus extended her hand and lightly tapped the air. Elements swirled, forming images of several elegant and majestic dragons.

"Ansor, look at these. All of them are of noble bloodlines, with the weakest being above the Ancestor Dragon level. Each of them would make a perfect match for Muria." Atreus eagerly introduced the dragons, completely oblivious to the darkening expression on her partner's face.

"I spent almost a month, pulling many strings to gather the information on the finest eligible female dragons from the world of Erathia." Atreus proudly displayed her work as she moved to stand beside a graceful blue-scaled dragon.

Even though it was just a projection, the image exuded the aura of the real dragon. This was a dignified and elegant female dragon, whose presence evoked the vastness of the ocean. She didn't belong to any typical dragon lineage.

"This is the granddaughter of the Blue Wave Dragon King. She is 632 years old and at the seventh rank of Legendary. Though she has many suitors, she has yet to choose a mate." Atreus's face showed a hint of regret.

"In terms of status, she is the best match for Muria. However, her age is somewhat advanced, and her power attributes conflict with Muria's, making it difficult for them to produce offspring."

"Her age is older than both of us combined," Ansor stated, his face dark with disapproval as he looked at the impractical Golden Dragon. "Aside from her status, I see no reason why she would be a good match for Muria."

"That's true!" Atreus agreed, nodding. With a wave of her hand, the projection of the Dragon King's descendant dissipated. "Let's move on to the next one, Lydia, an Ancestor Silver Dragon. She is 126 years old and at the second rank of Soul Intent. She too has many suitors.

"Her parents are both Ancestor Silver Dragons and have pampered her extensively. To ensure that her bloodline didn't degrade after her birth, they permanently suppressed part of their own power. She would be a perfect match for Muria in many respects."

"This cold-affinity dragon," Ansor managed to suppress his growing anger, "has zero probability of producing offspring with Muria."

"You're right," Atreus conceded, dispersing the elegant Ancestor Silver Dragon's image. "Next up, we have a Legendary dragon species, the Iridescent Dragon…"

"Hold on, Atreus." Ansor could no longer contain his frustration and interrupted. "Why are all the potential partners you're choosing for Muria dragons?"

"Because dragons have a higher fertility rate. Given Muria's current situation, a dragon partner is more suitable." Atreus defended her choices confidently. "It's all for Muria's benefit."

"Nonsense! I've read the clan's research reports on various races post-Legendary advancement. Dragons are practically sterile after reaching Legendary, and higher dragon species like Ancestor Dragons, Dragon King progeny, and Legendary dragon breeds have fertility rates comparable to, or even lower than, our Titans." Ansor retorted firmly.

"How could your Titan race have such research reports?" Atreus's eyes widened in disbelief. "And why would you read such things?"

"Why not? Is it so strange for a few Titans to be interested in research over the long ages?" Ansor maintained a solemn expression. Since solidifying his bond with Atreus, he had refrained from fighting, but he felt a need for a "normal" marital sparring session with her.

"And do you think I'm just a brute who only knows how to fight? I also review various documents during my free time."

"You mean documents about where powerful beings are active," Atreus shot back, knowing her partner all too well.

"Let's not change the subject. Why are all your chosen partners for Muria dragons? Why aren't there any Titans?"

"Titans? I don't know enough about them to select suitable candidates." Atreus turned her head, dodging the question with a forced laugh.

"That's a lie. You have unrestricted access to the Titan territories but choose not to go. You want Muria to find a dragon as a partner, so there's a high chance his offspring will be dragons."

"Tch, and you want Muria to find a female Titan? No matter what candidate I bring forward, as long as she's not a Titan, you won't be satisfied."
