Chapter 550: Sneaking Away, Destination: The Main Continent!

"This just happened," the wraith nervously informed Muria as it presented the Tome of Lamentation. The book flipped open, replaying the scene it had just witnessed.

A familiar sight met Muria's eyes: a giant red-scaled dragon. It was Jessica, one of the young dragons he had raised. However, she now appeared to be in a dire situation.

Jessica was surrounded by a coalition of chromatic dragons—red, blue, and others—twenty-three in total. Most were at the gold rank, with a few at the soul intent rank. Despite the odds, Jessica managed to hold her ground but was gradually being overwhelmed. Below her lay a bustling city, her domain, built painstakingly over forty years. The city's safety was her greatest concern, forcing her to endure unnecessary attacks.

"Where are these dragons from?" Muria frowned. Outside his control, he had never seen such a diverse group of chromatic dragons working together unless commanded by a figure like him who could unite them by force.

"Foolish dragon!" Muria cursed under his breath. Among his dragons, Jessica was one of the best at escaping danger. If she wanted to flee, these chromatic dragons couldn't stop her. They only knew basic magic abilities, far from being skilled spellcasters. But Jessica couldn't abandon her city, the fruit of her decades of effort.

"Damn it!" Muria's face showed unrestrained anger. Reinforcements of chromatic dragons continued to arrive, joining the assault on Jessica, making her situation even more precarious. Finally, as she realized the futility and attempted to escape, a hand formed of elemental energy appeared.

The hand, feminine and elegant, was slender with rounded fingertips, exuding both beauty and immense power. It effortlessly grabbed Jessica, dragging her out of her spatial escape despite her fierce struggle.

"A legendary rank," Muria noted, recognizing the formidable strength behind the hand.

The hand held Jessica as easily as a sparrow, sealing her power without causing harm. Then, a girl in luxurious attire appeared, stepping out of the void to touch Jessica's scales. Muria could see the delight in her eyes, akin to a child finding a new doll. This girl had taken a fancy to his dragon.

Moments later, another elemental hand filled the scene, growing larger and breaking the image back into silence.

"Caught again!" Muria glared at the wraith anxiously hovering before him. "You're useless. The green-skinned dwarf who sold you to me claimed you cursed eleven legends. Was he lying?"

"Master, this legend is too powerful, different from the others," the wraith cautiously defended itself, knowing its value was at risk. If deemed useless, it could be destroyed and reverted to mere legendary materials.

"No more excuses. If I see that dwarf again, I'll demand compensation." Muria tapped his fingers on his crystal throne. "Do you recognize the one who intervened?"

"Uh, master, are you asking me?" The wraith looked around nervously, but in the empty hall, it was just Muria and itself.

"Is there anyone else here?"

"No, but I don't know!" The wraith was bewildered. It was just a cursed book, not the head of Synaps' intelligence. While it got along with the scholarly Abyssal Demon, it wasn't privy to all secrets.

"If you don't know, find out. Do I have to do everything myself?" Muria stared at the wraith. "Before reporting to me, you should've investigated who that girl was. Now you tell me you don't know. If you can't handle this, why should I keep you?"

"I'm just a book meant for curses, a tool needing use, not a sentient being," the wraith lamented internally but outwardly displayed a submissive attitude. It obediently gathered its cursed mist and headed to find the intelligence chief.

"You have thirty minutes." The voice of Muria, calm and authoritative, echoed as the wraith left the castle, causing it to shudder and almost dissipate.

In the castle on the central cloud island, the patrolling cloud giants witnessed a peculiar sight: a book enveloped in black mist speeding out of the hall, leaving a trail as it flew towards the teleportation array.

This spectacle no longer surprised the cloud giants. Having lived in Synaps for decades, they were familiar with all the significant entities, including the sentient legendary grimoire, Black.

In less than thirty minutes, the Tome of Lamentation returned from the teleportation array, buzzing with excitement.

"Master, I found out from Fiona, the Ancient Green Dragon. The girl is the Dragon Princess, Felicia, from the Orland Empire on the main continent." The wraith eagerly reported its findings to Muria, hoping for praise.

"Well done." Muria acknowledged the wraith's efforts, noticing the thinning black mist around it. For once, he complimented it, sending it into a euphoric state.

"The Dragon Princess Felicia! I remember that title." Muria recalled a noble girl from the now-defunct Bavarian Kingdom on the Ionian subcontinent mistaking him for this imperial princess.

"Fond of signing contracts with various talented dragons and hiring them—she's a collector with an unusual affection for dragons. This time, she set her sights on Jessica, who I had exiled to the subcontinent. Should I commend her good taste or call her blind?" Muria's expression turned cold. "Touching my dragon… Since she captured Jessica, the other five dragons must also be in her grasp."

"I raise dragons far stronger than any this princess could recruit. She wouldn't let any escape," Muria confidently thought.

"Dismissed." Muria waved off the wraith, already planning his next move.

"Synaps can function independently for a while. Claudia needs time to integrate the Northern Four Kingdoms, and my project of gathering and educating the twelve thousand frost giants will take years to show results. So, I can leave for a while."

"My precious dragon has been captured. This is intolerable and must be rectified. Felicia's background is formidable; none but myself can retrieve the six dragons from her. I must go to the main continent and confront her."

"But how to get to the main continent?" Muria pondered his newly devised Dragon Rescue Plan. With little information, he prepared to head to the main continent.

This isn't about avoiding his parents' plans for his future partner. He's merely rescuing his kidnapped dragons. As a Titan and Dragon's son, the idea of fleeing was laughable.

"I must leave soon, before my parents finalize their plans. If not, I'll be in trouble." Muria's mind raced, and he thought of a solution—the floating ships from the Deep Blue Trading Company, controlled by the Uranos Empire's royal family.

Since their first meeting over twenty years ago, Muria had established a trading contract with the Deep Blue Company. Every month, a fleet of floating ships brought construction materials to Synaps in exchange for golems and weapons. Despite the loss they incurred, they continued to supply Synaps.

"If my calculations are correct, this month's shipment should arrive soon," Muria anticipated. "A perfect opportunity to hitch a ride to the main continent."

"Before I leave, I need to give some instructions." Muria began writing messages for Synaps' administrators to prevent chaos in his absence. He knew that Synaps' stability depended on him. If he were to fall, the city would collapse.

Muria decided to act swiftly, planning his departure with urgency to avoid his parents' interference.
