The Legendary Empress (2)

"There are many entertainers and public figures who founded their own entertainment companies." Lihua said it as a matter of fact.

"Indeed CEO Yang." Sichen bobbed his head. "Do you know the actress Reese Witherspoon? She has her own production company."

Yang Lingyun was slowly running out of patience and his face contorted with indignation, but he didn't really know what to say anymore. He could have never predicted the situation he was in right now.

"There is also-"

"I think it's better to talk about business instead of doing small talk." He interrupted Liang Sichen with a contemptuous look.

"Wasn't your 'business' to ask Lily to withdraw from the agency?" Liang Sichen, sneered. "Turns out she is owner of the company."

"Mr Liang! Your tone is disrespectful and unethical. This is not how a representative of a multinational company should act." Lin Yueshi forthwith spoke in Yang Lingyun's defense.

Lihua smiled to herself.

Just look at that!

Well Xia Mengrui had some tough competition here. Lin Yueshi definitely had feelings for Lingyun, but it wasn't any of her business.

Bang!

"How dare you!" Xia Lihua thumped her fist against the table, startling everyone in the room. "You are at my company and you have the audacity to raise your voice on my staffs. This is the 'professionalism' that you talk of?"

Lin Yueshi clenched her teeth to hide her anger. Damn it! Why it had to be Xia Lihua of all people? They had a very long history as they used to go same junior high school, but they never got along together because she liked Yang Lingyun, whom Xia Lihua had once been engaged to.

"CEO Yang, I don't think we should negotiate any further. They apparently don't have any manners, we-"

Lingyun was irritated by Lin Yueshi's terrible comportment. "Don't make matters worse Miss Lin, we have to carry on with the meeting. Take out the envelope." His aura turned so dangerous that it made her body go rigid.

"What?" She batted her eyelashes feeling that she had been wronged. "I-"

"I should have brought Gu Sheng instead." Yang Lingyun was not having any of it and clicked his tongue in annoyance. He wasn't worried about Lin Yueshi, who was shaking so much that she could hardly speak.

Sensing his foul mood Lin Yueshi panicked and quickly took out the proposal from the envelope without running her mouth. She had to maintain a perfect image in front of him, so she regained her virtuous composure.

"Here is a plan, The Yang's investment company wants to fund some of Hua de World's important projects." Lingyun put forward the elaborate documents in front of Lihua and said, "I can give you some time to think about it."

"This!" Sichen gasped in shock after looking at the papers.

Lihua's vision darkened. She hadn't expected Lingyun to come fully prepared and her wish to see him walk out of the building suffused with embarrassment foiled. Afterall he was a real businessman, a very capable one at that.

"Lily, I think this is a reasonable deal..."

Lihua side-eyed Sichen and snatched the proposal from his hands. She read everything twice to make sure what she was seeing was correct. "Do you really want to invest in these big projects?" What was Lingyun even thinking? She wasn't financially snag, but the movie that was now in production needed huge funding and Yang Investment was a reliable source. She didn't want to use her overseas funds, so this was a very good solution.

"Yes," Yang Lingyun calmly answered.

"And what do you want in return?" Xia Lihua wasn't someone who was easy to fool. She knew that he had some hidden motives.

"I want to sign some dancers from your company under Yang Entertainment."

"Dancers...?" She raised her eyebrows in distress. Hua de World was established 5 years ago and even though they were well staffed, there wasn't plenty backup dancers. He definitely knew that if he took away talented dancers then her agency would be at a disadvantage. "I don't think I can-"

"I said I'll give you sometime to think." He intertwined his fingers and gave her a bored look, his upper lip twitched slightly as if he was trying not to smile.

This was a huge gamble to make. Currently the movie and drama projects were important to her, plus the offer was very tempting. She couldn't say no to it and eventually gave in, "Okay I'll ask my dance team to sign the contract."

"So you have already come to a decision. Please ask your dancers to contact the representative of Yang corporation via email first. We can say this is a temporary truce." Yang Lingyun got up from his swivel chair and walked out of the meeting room with his hands in his pockets. Lin Yueshi tiptoed quietly behind him and still had the look of a victim on her face.

Xia Lihua didn't like having to agree to his terms, but she had to behave properly. "Wait Mr Yang, I will see you out." She got inside the elevator with them and pressed the basement floor button.

"You know what, a fake career doesn't last long, Lihua." Yang Lingyun whispered but it was loud enough to reach her ears.

"What?!" Lihua was stunned to hear his accusation, but her eyes crinkled when she realised what he was trying to say.

"Hahahaha!"

She laughed hysterically as she patted his right shoulder. "You don't have to worry about me, I'll show you my talent as a true singer on the stage."

He kept his mouth closed and said nothing else. This sort of provocation didn't bother him in the least.

Ding.

The elevator descended to the basement level and Lin Yueshi followed Yang Lingyun outside.

"Goodbye Mr Yang, I don't want to see you ever again." Lihua quickly pressed the close door button without waiting for them to turn back.
