The Butler

Bennet took them to the annexe building. It was considerably smaller than the main house, but as soon as they stepped into the hall, the distinctive smell of medicine and disinfection hit their nose. It was the sterile fragrant that told everyone that death was close.

"How bad is it?" Arianell asked nervously.

Bennet looked at Luan first, but when he was given the silent permission, he started explaining to her.

"We rescued him from the dungeon in a near-death state. The priest with us gave him emergency treatment and his life was saved, but his legs were seriously damaged. He sleeps most of the day but was informed that you might come and meet with him soon."

"How could it be? Why would they torture him to such an extent?!"

The butler that she knew was the kind man who was loyal to the house he was serving. Even if Blaine has become the count unexpectedly, the butler would stand by his side till the end.
