Visit Whispering Alley

In this small town, there are only taxis for public transport, and they only operate in limited hours, from 6 am to 10 pm.

It was past 6 pm when Iris left Daisy's shop. Iris didn't have much time, only a few hours to go to the arms shop and return to her house. She would be in trouble if she couldn't take a taxi home.

Iris was lucky; when leaving Daisy's shop, a taxi passed by. She immediately stopped the Taxi.

"Good night, young miss..." the fat driver greeted Iris in a friendly manner. "Where are you going, miss?" he asked.

"Hello, sir, Whispering Alley, please," Iris said as she closed the car door. However, the car did not move, which made her confused. She looked at the driver, "Sir, you can drive now," she said, feeling puzzled that he was just staring at her.

"Miss, are you sure you want to go to that area? And to go there alone?" The driver finally asked.

"Yes. Sir, can you go hurry now? I don't have much time," she said impatiently.

"Miss, I'm sorry to ask again, but are you sure you want to go to Whispering Alley alone?" He asked with a genuine worry on his tone and his face.

Iris frowned, silently taking a deep sigh. She nodded, confirming that she would go there alone. She didn't bother to answer him, but her sharp gaze was enough to tell the driver to stop asking and just drive her there.

"Miss, you know what that place is, right? That place is dangerous for a young girl like you..." The taxi driver expressed concern, warning Iris that the place she intended to go to was unsafe for her to visit alone. Despite his multiple warnings, Iris insisted, making him reluctantly agree to take her there.

"Don't worry, sir. I understand the risk," Iris took a deep sigh slightly before continuing, "...I don't have any other option but to go there," she calmly said as she checked the pocket knife in her coat pocket. She planned to rely on it in case of any unexpected events in Whispering Alley.

Iris knew that going to that place was not something a teenager like her would typically do. She didn't want to go there either, but it was a crucial task, and she had to take care of it quickly.

As the car moved swiftly, she realized she wasn't familiar with the route to Whispering Alley. Nothing in young Iris's memory about going to the street. In young Iris's memories, she had never been to this side of town. Not once. She tried to closely remember the path the Taxi took while attempting to calm her mind.

She was an assassin in her past life, so why should she worry about anything ahead?

'Everything will be fine, Iris! You will be okay!!' She tried to reassure herself.

She could handle regular gangsters, but what worried her more was encountering a professional assassin or her enemy. She feared that her current body might not be strong enough to defend herself if they attacked her. This young girl's body felt so weak.

After a few minutes, they finally arrived at a street that was bustling with cars and pedestrians. This street was flanked by cheap-looking bars and motels along the way. In several places, she saw women wearing clothes that barely covered their bodies, standing on the side of the road, trying to seduce passersby as if trying to sell their bodies.

'Gosh! I hate this place!' She muttered under her breath, expressing her dislike for the area. Although she had been to similar places countless times in her past life, it was not a location she enjoyed. However, she had to frequent these areas to locate her target, who often spent their time there.

Finally, she spotted the place she wanted to go to, a bar at the end of the street with few people passing through the area. Iris asked the driver to stop and quickly paid him, "Keep the change, Sir..." She opened the door.

"Miss, taxis only run until 10 pm, don't stay here too long in this part of town, and always be careful and watch your back!" he said, expressing his concern. She nodded and closed the door.

After hiding her face under her baseball cap, she walked towards the X Bar. She had found this place through a local website; it appeared to be just an ordinary bar where the locals drank beer and played billiards.

However, after digging for information through the dark web, she discovered that this place had an underground casino and was a black market for illegal drugs and weapons.

As she entered the X Bar, she noticed only a few customers playing pool and drinking beer at several tables. Slow rock music played in the background. To her surprise, she was the only woman there, and several eyes stared at her as if she were prey entering their territory. Ignoring the unwanted attention, she headed straight for the bartender.

She felt relieved because before coming to this place, she had quickly applied some eye makeup to hide her innocent appearance and make herself look more mature.

"Hello, beauty. What do you want to drink?" The bartender greeted her with a warm smile.

"Give me the best and the coldest beer you have here!" Iris curtly said while pretending to check her phone.

Before long, the bartender returned. "Here you go, beauty!" He placed a cold beer on the table. "I have never seen you before. New to this place?"

"Yeah!" She answered, then gulped her beer. "Actually, I heard this place can provide something I need. Care to help me?"

The bartender was slightly surprised at her words. He studied her face briefly before nodding, "What kind of help?"

Instead of replying, she took out a small piece of paper with the name of the weapon's code written on it. "this," she handed the piece of paper to the bartender. As she saw his warm expression slowly turn to surprise, she continued, "Can you help me?"

The bartender shook his head slowly, "Sorry, I have no idea what that is," he said, pushing the paper back to her. Simultaneously, Iris saw him move his other hand under the counter. Probably pressing a button to alert some bad people in a hidden control room somewhere in the building — Her mind screamed, 'STAY ALERT, IRIS!'
