The next day.
As Iris woke up, her smile persisted upon finding Xavier beside her. It was unusual for this man to be in bed, eyes closed as if in slumber when she awoke.
She sensed that this man was starting to act more human. He slept each time she lay in bed and accompanied her during meals, although he merely sat there, savoring his wine-beast and refraining from touching her food.
"Xavier, are you sleeping?" She whispered, placing her hand on his chest. She couldn't hear anything in his heart but only felt his cold temperature. Despite his chill, she had grown accustomed to it after sleeping beside him daily.
She smiled at him after witnessing his eyelashes flutter and his golden-yellow eyes meeting hers.
"I'm not sleeping, but I'm learning to rest my mind while lying next to you, and it's quite enjoyable," Xavier smiled in return. "Alright, you should wake up now. It's almost lunchtime..."
