Simple yet Irresistable Trap

All hope hasn't been lost yet, Blake still has a chance to complete the quests.

Like a child that was given candy for the first time, his eyes glisten with a peculiar light. He quickly stood up, the rays of hope were present again inside his head. Knowing that he only had one hour, he quickly heads over to the city to tail the last player.

Of course, he did it after informing the others to stay with Terramaw until he came back.

Upon reaching back into the city that was bolstered with people celebrating, Blake ignored them and tailed the last player who should be a ranger, judging from the crossbow strapped behind him tightly.

Instead of celebrating like the other citizen, this player stayed near the walls.

Since the Emergency Quest was not only given to Blake but also all of the people inside the city including the citizens, some of them are still alert as the quests are not completed yet which means the Beast Horde is not over.

Additionally, the player also stayed close to the wall anticipating an attack.

But this frustrates Blake hiding on the side.

'Come on! Move away! Why are you staying there like a dumbass?!' Blake exclaimed inside his head, he was using the Ninja Step skill and burning through his mana while he waited for the player to move away from the walls.

About five minutes later, the player still didn't move an inch.

Knowing that he would burst in frustration if he keeps watching the player from the dark like this, he decided to avert his attention for a moment to wait. Shifting back to the prompt, he decided to open the Beastman Chain Racial Quest.

[Chain Racial Quest - Beastman (A)]

[Second Step - Beast Energy]

Description: The player needs to have a sliver of beast energy to evoke and alter the anatomy into a beast-like form, without the presence of beast energy, transitioning into a Beastman is impossible. Absorb one beast core belonging to a level 50 beast or above.

Quest Reward: 70,000 Exp, 100 Gold Coins, and Tiger Strength.

Reading the quest, Blake finds that he could finish this second step too.

'If I'm not mistaken, one of the dropped loots from the Crimston Blazesteed is a basic beast core' Blake thought and opens his inventory. True enough, he finds the Basic Beast Core item stored inside his inventory.

Taking it out, he was exposed to a shiny red crystal the size of a soccer ball.

Now that he has the beast core in his hand, he was confused about what to do with it, 'Now what? How do I absorb the beast core? Maybe I do it like in the novels I read, through meditation?' Blake pondered for a moment.

Deciding to try, he sat down and put the beast core between his hands.

Focusing on probing the energy inside the beast core, his hands started to become warmer.

Since he's a Spectral Vampire and the Transformational Token has worn off a while ago, his body is very cold. With a change in temperature like this, he could feel clearly, and that warm sensation started to spread.

A moment later, he opens his eyes and finds that the beast core is already dimmed.

'I thought that it needed a long time, but it seems not' Blake thought and nodded his head, the process of absorbing the beast core seems to be quite fast and easy. It was done in mere minutes.

[Second Step of the Beastman Chain Racial Quest, Beast Energy has been completed!]

[Obtained 70,000 Exp, 100 Gold Coins, and Tiger Strength]

Now Blake would only need to finish the third step of the Beastman Chain Racial Quest to finally acquire the race Beastman. It was not his intention to gain the Beastman race, but he's quite excited since it's not too far off from his target race.

Beastman is an A-grade race, and it's also not a foreign race for gamers.

Most gamers would know what a Beastman is, and there would be people lining up to buy him the Beastman Racial Quest since it's a grade higher than the starting races which are either C-grade or B-grade.

On top of that, Beastman is also focused on physical prowess.

Anyone that has warrior class or related classes would definitely desire to have the Beastman race to compliment their class, the immense strength a Beastman possesses would give them a combat advantage in using their skills.

'Hmmm... so the last one requires me to gain a blessing from a beast?' Blake mused.

It's stated in the third section, the Harmony of Beast that he would need to gain a blessing from a beast which would then turn him into a Beastman. But then again, the process of gaining the blessing of a beast is unknown.

Blake then wanders for a second, 'If I gained a blessing from a Fox, will I become a Werefox?'

'No... that's not possible. There must be a difference between Werefox and Beastman, maybe their origins were different? I don't know, I could just ask Salana if I wanted to later' he then shakes his head to snap out of his thoughts.

Refocusing back to the player, he finds that the player is now sitting near the wall.

Seems like he won't be moving from his spot no matter how long Blake would wait for him, at least the player wouldn't move until the Terramaw is dead and the prompt of completion of the Emergency Quest finally appeared.

Due to that, he needs to try and take the player out right now.

Inspecting the area around the player, Blake finds that they were a couple of city guards.

On top of that, the player is standing not that far from the north gate of Einora City, meaning that he's quite in an open spot, 'Killing him would be quite problematic like this, is there a racial skill that could help me with this?'

Checking the race skill tree, he finds that none offers him what he wanted.

Blake would need a skill that produces no sound and also requires small energy but is lethal enough to kill the player. But he knows that it was too much to ask, it's even doubtful that such a skill existed.

Just as he was browsing through the skill tree, he remembered something.

'Right, I can evolve skills too. Can I check what the skill would evolve into before evolving?'

Deciding to check, he opens his status window again.

Since there are only two race skills that he could evolve, the Blood Lance and Shadow Step skill, he decided to check both of them. Clicking on the skill, a prompt appeared in front of his vision.

[Do you want to evolve A-grade Shadow Step skill into Eclipsing Shadows?]

Upon seeing this prompt, Blake clicked on the Eclipsing Shadow skill to view its description.

Like the Shadow Step skill, it's a movement skill.

In the instant he reads the skill's description, Blake was instantly pulled to the MP that is required to use the Eclipsing Shadow skill is 1,000 MP. A substantial jump from the 50 MP that the Shadow Step requires.

When he reads the description, he understands why it needs that much MP.

Compared to the Shadow Step skill which has a limitation of using natural shadow, the Eclipsing Shadow skill could create a fabricated shadow anywhere visible that he could use to warp into and cast the normal Shadow Step skill.

Fighting in an open area would be much better for him with this skill.

On top of that, the Eclipsing Shadow is also instantaneous, has immense range, and could also bypass any teleportation negation skills that are below S-grade, making it a very devastating and reliable skill.

Blake didn't find this surprising considering that the Eclipsing Shadow skill is an S-grade skill.

Despite the temptation, he didn't evolve his Shadow Step skill.

Moving onto the Blood Lance skill, he checked and finds that it would turn into an S-grade skill called Blood Veins. A powerful offensive skill that instead of summoning blood lances, summoned a rope thick red vein that could travel through air or even water.

It heals the caster's HP proportionate to the damage, and its appearance can be morphed.

Having free reign of morphing the Blood Veins into any weapons.

Moreover, anyone caught in its wrap could be crippled with the paralyzing, stun, bleeding, and weakening effect depending on the target's resistance to those effects. It's also soundless which is perfect for stealth attacks.

'Hmm... I could use this skill' Blake thought and nodded his head.

Although it costs him 20 Racial Skill Points to upgrade Blood Lance skill into Blood Veins skill, he didn't hesitate and evolved it instantly. It's a skill that would not only help him in this situation but also in numerous situations in the future.

It's by far a lethal skill and could be used in myriads of unique ways.

[-20 Racial Skill Points]

[Congratulation, Blood Lance skill has evolved into Blood Veins skill!]

While he was about to make his move to the player, Blake suddenly flinched in surprise when he heard a whisper penetrating his ears, "If you find it hard to find a way to lure that guy, why didn't you ask for help...?"

"Angel?!" Blake exclaimed, finding that Angel is right behind him.

Just before he could say anything, Angel already fixed her beautiful hair alluringly with her slender hand before swaying it left and right. She then pointed at a barn near the north gate and smiled a little.

"Go to that barn"

"Hmm...? For what?"

Not even answering Blake, Angel already walks over toward the player.

Looking from the back, Blake was enthralled by her peaches that moved seductively following the movement of her hip. It was then, he realized what she was trying to do and couldn't help but shakes his head.

'I know what she's trying to do. But man, why am I jealous right now?'

A moment later, using her womanly charm, Angel managed to bring the player to the barn.

Even though he was being led to the barn, being pulled by the hand by Angel, the player doesn't seem to care. His face is already flushed, and his lustful eyes were fixed on Angel's body which has the perfect curves.

Clearly, everything about her could make a man crazy.

Not even the player realized that he was lured into a trap, his head was properly blank right now. But it was then, his eyes suddenly catches a glimpse of something standing in the shadows.

Upon seeing this, the player's eyes dilated, and he could see that there was another figure.

But it was then, Angel turns around with an apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry, but I lied..." Angel said sweetly in her soft voice, she was too irresistible.

A spark of confusion dawned on the player's mind, but it takes a moment before her words made him realize his position. Looking over at the figure in the shadows, he could only curse his bad luck.

"Oh, you motherfuckers..."
