There's a knock at the door.
I already know who it is. "Chris! It's me! Let me in, pretty please!"
My heart starts pounding. Oh god, not again.
Do I open the door? I can't, no, she'll kill me.
That sick, innocent voice that demon possesses.
I moved one of the blinds and looked out the window. It's late. There is a girl, with brown hair styled into a bob cut and the nerdiest glasses I have ever seen.
She's staring at the door, contemplating something.
Do I run?
No, she'll catch me before I even take a step outside.
I have to hide!
My heart jumps, then it drops.
She snapped her head to the window and set her eyes upon me. She gently smiles, "I found you."
Oh god.
I immediately run away from the window, desperately looking for a place to hide.
She starts to giggle. "How rude! Not even a hello and you run away! COME BACK HERE."
I heard the door smash open, but that doesn't matter right now.
I ran up the stairs, into my bedroom, and right into my closet.
My heart is POUNDING.
She's giggling again, this time violently. "How rude! Don't run away from your own girlfriend!
Looks like someone needs to be, PUNISHED."
I can hear her. Every step acts as a sonar, with every pulse reverberating to my location.
MY
HEART
IS
POUNDING.
IT'S DRIVING ME insane.
"Oh, Chris! Don't you remember the coffee shop? When we started to date! Oh, it drives me crazy how amazing you are! So nice, sweet, caring, you're so PERFECT. Let's be together, FOREVER!"
My heart is POUNDING.
But I just bought her a coffee! She should've just put PSYCHOPATH on her bio.
The door to my bedroom smashes open. It went sailing across the room and drove itself into the wall, shattering into millions of pieces.
"I KNOW you're in here! Are we playing Hide and Seek? I LOVE THIS GAME."
I gasp and I try to cover my mouth, but it's too late.
The girl snapped her head in my direction. She doesn't say anything, except smile. Her creepy, gentle smile.
I close my eyes. If I can't see her, she CAN'T see me.
"I FOUND YOU." I open my eyes, she's right in front of me.
"Get-get AWAY FROM ME you PSYCHOPATH!"
She flinches, with a shocked expression. Then, her face softens, with a distinct look of pity.
She starts CRYING.
"Oh, Chris! YOU'RE BREAKING MY HEART!" Now, there is a hole, where my heart used to be.
