Becoming A Prodigy (short chapter)

Captain Ajwad gathered the crew in the ship's mess hall, the dim lighting casting a warm glow over the worn wooden table.

"We find ourselves in an extraordinary situation," he began, his gaze sweeping over the faces of his loyal crew. "Out here in uncharted waters, with no means of communication, and only the knowledge and skills we carry with us."

Rizal nodded in agreement. "We have no choice but to rely on each other, and on Hffyl, who's proven himself more than capable."

Faiz chimed in, "We need to plan for the long haul. We don't know when or how we'll get back home, and until then, we must ensure our survival."

Dollah, with his usual sharp instincts, added, "We also need to make sure Hffyl is taken care of. He's just a boy, and he's been through a lot."

Nurse Murni, the voice of empathy among them, spoke softly, "I'll keep an eye on his health and wellbeing, but we also need to think about his education."

Mei Ling, the ever-curious communications officer, suggested, "We could start teaching him the basics of mathematics, science, and language. It might help him adjust."

Suresh grinned, "And I'll make sure he doesn't miss out on some good old home-cooked meals."

Aini chimed in, "We should also utilize Hffyl's knowledge. He's proven himself knowledgeable in sailing and maritime history. We could all learn from him."

Mikhail nodded in agreement, "And I'll teach him about modern technology. Who knows, he might find a way for us to get in touch with the world."

Captain Ajwad summarized their plan. "So, it's settled. We'll continue to sail, learn, and adapt together. We'll ensure Hffyl receives a well-rounded education, and in turn, we'll all benefit from his unique knowledge and experiences."

As they all nodded in agreement, they knew that their journey had taken an unexpected turn, but together, they would navigate these uncharted waters, facing whatever challenges lay ahead with resilience and determination.

The atmosphere was light in the galley of the MV Sirena as the crew sat around the dining table, a mix of freshly prepared food and canned goods spread out before them. As the laughter and chit-chat subsided, Captain Ajwad cleared his throat, signaling he wanted to address something.

"Alright, mates," he began, locking eyes with Hffyl. "We've been discussing something important and thought it's high time we bring it up. It's about you, Hffyl."

Rizal chimed in, leaning back in his chair, "You see, kid, we've been thinking. You've got a sharp mind, and well, it'd be a waste not to put it to good use."

Faiz grinned, playfully nudging Hffyl's shoulder. "Considering you've been schooling *us* on a few things, it's only fair we return the favor, right?"

Hffyl raised an eyebrow, curious but slightly apprehensive. Mei Ling leaned forward, her voice gentle. "We want to offer you some schooling while you're aboard. Not just the regular stuff, but some of our own expertise too."

"And don't worry," added Suresh with a smile, "We won't bore you with endless lectures. But think about it - you're in a ship with a vast pool of knowledge. From engineering to music, from health to sailing. It's an opportunity!"

Dollah added with a chuckle, "Besides, it's not like we're sailing towards a university anytime soon. Might as well make the ship one."

Hffyl looked thoughtful, processing what they were suggesting. "Really? I mean, I know a thing or two from school."

Captain Ajwad nodded, "Absolutely, kid. And hey, maybe you can teach us a thing or two about that ship of yours in return."

Hffyl smiled, "Deal, but only if I can teach some of you how to sail it properly."
