In the training space, Qi Han's actions as he practiced making the Triple No-Stick dish suddenly halted, causing the dish in the pan to disappear instantly.
"The strength was off. Let's try again," Ru Yi squinted slightly and spoke slowly.
Qi Han shook his head, recalling his previous movements and realizing where he went wrong.
Next time, he should be able to complete the Triple No-Stick dish successfully.
The ingredients needed for the dish appeared on the counter again: starch processed from crops irrigated with spiritual spring water, eggs from the thousand-year-old five-colored brocade chicken, and sugar as fine as snow.
First, Qi Han took a large bowl and expertly cracked six eggs, letting the egg whites flow into a small bowl and keeping the yolks in the large bowl.
He then poured sugar over the egg yolks, making it look like a layer of snow covering the yolks.
Qi Han picked up a whisk and beat the bright yellow yolks until they formed a thick, jam-like mixture.
Setting the bowl aside, Qi Han took another large bowl and poured in the special starch, adding water multiple times in a ratio of one to ten, mixing until the starch and water were evenly combined into a very thin batter.
Next, he poured the batter into the bowl with the egg mixture and stirred until it was a homogeneous golden liquid.
At this point, the preparation for the Triple No-Stick dish was almost complete.
He heated oil in a pan and slowly poured in the egg mixture over low heat. The mixture was still entirely liquid and not sticky at all. Qi Han patiently stirred with a spatula until the water evaporated and the egg mixture became thick.
After a while, the egg mixture in the pan formed a mass and could easily stick to the spatula, signaling the initial form of the Triple No-Stick dish.
Adding more oil, Qi Han scraped the solidified egg mixture from the edges of the pan and mixed it with the mass in the center.
This step was crucial; if he didn't scrape it early, the remaining egg mixture would darken and ruin the final golden appearance of the dish.
Once there was no more solidified egg mixture left, Qi Han forcefully threw the mass back into the pan, added oil for the third time, and began to rapidly pat the dish with the spatula.
As he continued patting, the surface of the dish became smooth and its texture changed internally.
After about a thousand pats, the Triple No-Stick dish no longer stuck to the pan or spatula.
Qi Han expertly transferred it to a large plate.
Everything went smoothly, and the Triple No-Stick dish was complete.
The dish was entirely golden without any discoloration. A slight sniff revealed a sweet aroma mixed with the fragrance of eggs, similar to freshly baked cake.
This dish, named by Emperor Qian Long himself, was one of the finest desserts in ancient times.
Qi Han picked up a bit with his chopsticks. As he lifted it, the whole piece came off the plate, true to its name of not sticking to the plate. The part he held broke off slowly under its weight, and the rest fell back onto the plate with a soft bounce.
Qi Han's expression turned a bit strange.
The scene reminded him of slapping a very elastic buttock.
"No, no, don't think that way," Qi Han shook his head to clear his thoughts.
"Eww~ Host, you're being weird," Ru Yi, sensing Qi Han's thoughts, looked at him with disdain.
"Ahem," Qi Han cleared his throat, blushing, and quickly ate the Triple No-Stick dish to cover his embarrassment.
The dish was incredibly soft, springy yet not sticky, with a texture similar to a sponge cake.
The sweet, eggy aroma filled his mouth and nose as he chewed, bringing a satisfied smile to his face.
The magic of desserts is that they can brighten one's day.
After finishing the dish, Qi Han put down the plate, feeling much happier.
"No, Host, your good mood has nothing to do with eating the Triple No-Stick dish," Ru Yi muttered, rolling her eyes. "You're just happy that you have a new dish for the restaurant, right?"
Indeed, knowing himself well, Qi Han laughed and patted Ru Yi's hair. "I almost forgot to ask, how much does one serving of the Triple No-Stick dish cost?"
"20 Gold Coins per serving."
"That's a good price," Qi Han nodded in satisfaction.
The ingredients for the dish weren't overly expensive, with the most costly being the eggs from the thousand-year-old five-colored brocade chicken, and each serving required six eggs.
So, the price of 20 Gold Coins was quite reasonable.
"What time is it now?" Qi Han asked, a bit excited.
Learning the Triple No-Stick dish went smoothly; if there was enough time, he could start the training for the Qing Dynasty Blessed Pork Meat dish.
"Five minutes until your employees come for their meal break," Ru Yi glanced at Qi Han. "Although the Triple No-Stick dish didn't fail many times, each practice takes a lot of time, so you've spent quite a bit of time on it."
Qi Han understood and sighed, "I'll start the Qing Dynasty Blessed Pork Meat training tomorrow then."
With a thought, Qi Han left the system space and returned to the restaurant.
"Meow~"
Pururu, as usual, came over to rub against Qi Han and jumped into his arms.
Qi Han subconsciously rubbed Pururu's chin and then chuckled, "Pururu, have you gotten heavier again?"
Holding Pururu, Qi Han could clearly feel the change. It seemed that Pururu had grown a bit more and its weight had increased significantly.
This made Qi Han a bit worried.
The growth rate seemed too fast. If this continued, Pururu might become even bigger than a Maine Coon.
By then, it would be hard to tell who's petting whom.
…
"Small Shop…" Dai Tonghua, followed by two attendants, approached Small Shop's door, dressed in a luxurious royal robe, and surveyed the place.
He had heard of this restaurant. A confidant trying to curry favor had mentioned it while sharing odd stories about Star Luo City.
At the time, Dai Tonghua hadn't paid much attention and quickly forgot about it.
As a prince with access to countless palace delicacies, the goods from other restaurants seemed ordinary to him.
But this time, it was his father's personal command that brought him here.
A restaurant that piqued the emperor's interest naturally intrigued Dai Tonghua as well.
There were already many people standing in front of the Small Shop's door, but it wasn't open yet, causing Dai Tonghua to frown.
Does the prince have to wait in line to eat? Ridiculous!
