Chapter 23 – Kobold Chieftain.

[Forge] – [Level: 60]

[You have slain last enemy that was keeping the boss room sealed. The boss room became unlocked.]

"For fuck's sake. It took longer than I thought to kill all of them. Fuck me, they could at least reduce their total number just a bit or something since they are way stronger than normal kobolds."

(Using the great crossbow reduced my consumption of health potions by signifiable amount since I sustained less injuries, but I still wasted lot of time since this place is freaking huge like hell and all the kobolds were scatter around the entire dungeon and I had to also make short stops to reload the crossbow.)

(Maybe I should make something like a bomb or something? That's is quiet nice idea to just blow everything it, but are there things like gunpowder or some chemicals that explode?)

"Tch. I still have to go and kill the boss. I still don't know how much of the time I have left before the demon or something get summoned. Got to hurry."

Forge beginned walking thought the dungeon, heading towards boss room while drinking different type of potions.

[Your HP has been restored.]

[Your MP has been restored.]

[Your SP has been restored.]

"Good. Everything is on 100%. Crossbow also loaded as well." – said Forge while walking though the dungeon.

(Now here is a question. What is boss monster like? Since he is chieftain of the kobolds, he must be a kobold himself and that means he will also use classes like the others, but with ones? Since he is summoning demon, is he [Tamer]. I only read the [Tamer] class description when I was trying to pick new class when I got to the village, that class focuses on taming wild monsters and then adding them to your team. You can give them buffs and evolve them in more powerful form.)

(So, there is possibility of having to deal with multiple enemies while fighting the boss, but I can assume that is really the case. There is possibility that this guy have nothing related summing or being [Tamer] at all and maybe have many classes on him. Either way, I have to be careful.)

"Well, I will have to just see with my own eyes." – said Forge while standing in front of the boss room doors.

"Okay, let's go in."

Forge entered the boss room, with his hammer in hand.

When Forge enter the room, he saw a wide space with 4 giant columns and in the middle of the room.

In the middle of the room, a bright crimson light was being emitted, around it there was a group 5 hooded figures. Each one of them holding a staff and looked like they were praying.

In front of the crimson light there was one more being standing, a 3 meter tall muscular humanoid monster lizard monster with 4 bend horn sticking out from the back of his head. The monster had dark orange skin and long tail like serpent that had many spikes sticking out of it.

The monster was wearing a pelt that appears to belonged once to a bear. On both arms Forge noticed two gauntlets with 3 claw like blades sticking out from each one.

[Kobold Chieftain Azruk – Level 60 – Unique Boss Monster]

[Kobold Tribe Elder – Level 58] x 5

(Wait, wait, wait. Hold on the freaking second. That guy looks nothing alike to the kobolds?! What kind of steroids did he took?! He looks like he will bit my head and then hung it onto a wall like a trophy.)

(Never mind that! Why is he level 60?! Monsters in dungeon had level between 54 - 56 and why there are monsters here besides boss monster?! They kobolds, not demons, why are they here?!)

(Hm? Wait, what is that weird thing flooding in the middle of that light? It look likes candle holder, but why is it so big?)

(This isn't obviously normal thing. The candle are bright red like blood and some of them are burning with blue light.)

(….10, 24, 40, 51, there is 51 candles in total, 40 of them are burning.)

While Forge was observing the situation, one of the candles started to burn.

(One of them lighten up? Wait, is this thing the countdown?! By any chance if all the candles are light up then the demon will get summoned?!)

(Should I destroy the candle holder? But, is that even possible? It's in middle of that weird crimson light and I don't know what will happened if I touch it.)

(Hm? Wait, the boss monsters is ready to fight and yet he isn't approaching me? Now that I take a closer look, those guys on the back are ignoring me and keep praying or something.)

"So that is what's going on."

(He is defeating those guys since they are the ones doing summoning and I have to get rid of them and that guy is trying to stall me.)

"Standing and waiting will only work in their favor. So, I guess I have to make a first move huh?"

Forge beginned running straight at the boss monster and in response boss monster did the same thing.

(He isn't holding any weapons in his hands or has it on him, there are only those claws blades. Is he by any chance [Brawler]? If he is then all of his attack are related attacking with arms or legs, but I have yet to confirm if he really is one or not.)

Suddenly the kobold extend his right hand towards right direction and then a red glowing smoke begin to emit from the claw blades. The kobold then stopped for the moment and shouted something.

"[Demonic Claw]!"

He slashed the air in front of him with his glowing claws, sending a giant 3 blades right at the Forge.

Forge quickly moved out of the way, barely dodging the quick attack.

(Fuck me that was fast!)

When Forge though that he dodge the attack, the second attack came flying straight at him. Forge tried defending him self with his hammer, but he didn't manage to block all the blades.

[HP: 95%]

(The fuck was that?! Physical or magical attack? Either way that bastard has long range attack. I only manage to block 1 blade, but 2 blades still hit me, just how much of the damage would they do if I took all 3 of them without chance to block?!)

The kobold chieftain continue running straight at the Forge and jumped high into air.

"Don't like this." – said Forge while looking directly at the kobold that was straight above him.

Forge quickly took out his wings and tried running away. Moments later, the kobold chieftain entire body beginned emitting the same red glowing smoke as before and then he launched it himself where Forge was moments ago.

The kobold flew like a cannon ball and hit the floor, creating a large shockwave in the process. Forge who was running away at the time barely dodge the attack, but still suffered the damage from the shock.

"For fuck's sake! He isn't stalling, he is going straight for the kill!"

(Okay, he have range attack and attack that seems to be similar to my [Horn Charge], with only difference being this thing being many times more powerful.)

(I already lost 10% of my HP even though the fight just started and on top of that, I did not took on the full power of both of those attacks. Fuck me! Most of my passives are related to defense and stuff and yet I'm getting my ass kicked.)

"Tch."

Forge beginned running straight at the praying kobolds while drinking HP potion. While running Forge looked back for the moment and saw the kobold chieftain not chasing him, but instead of just kneeling.

(So, it's one of those attacks huh? "Boss do big attack but then end up being exhaust for the moment." stuff?)

(Fuck me, that was opening for me land a good hit on him. Never mind that, I got to kill those other kobolds before they finish the summoning!)

"Grrr."

After hearing the growling noise from behind, Forge looked back once again, only to see kobold getting up on his feet and then looking directly at him.

"Oh shit! You could stayed in that state for longer you know!"

While Forge was desperately running towards the kobold's elders, the kobold chieftain beginned running straight at him.

"Common, common!" – said Forge while getting closer to the first kobold elder.

Forge finally got near the first elder and then he swung his hammer, aiming right at the kobold head. The attack connected and the kobold head was send flying.

(One hit?! I can take them down with one hit?! Well then.)

"Next- "

Before Forge could end his sentence, the kobold chieftain kicked the Forge right in the face.

(He is already here?! How fast is he?!) – though Forge while trying to maintain his balance.

The kobold chieftain began assaulting Forge with many strikes from claws blades, forcing Forge to desperately block the attack and continuously losing HP.

While enduring the attack, Forge saw the opening to attack and tried using it, the attack landed and manage to push the kobold away, but it didn't not took much of the damage.

"Fucker." – (That was a solid hit too and yet his HP barely moved. Even those other boss monsters from those hidden dungeons suffered a lot from that kind of attack.)

Forge opened his inventory and took out a tomahawk. He then quickly then aimed and throw the tomahawk straight towards the kobold chieftain. The kobold easily dodge the tomahawk, but unfortunately for it, the Forge wasn't aiming at him.

The throwed weapon hit the kobold elder right in the head, killing it instantly. The kobold chieftain instantly turned his head around after hearing the kobold elder dying scream.

While kobold was distracted, Forge took a swing and the kobold right in the face as it turned back towards Forge. The attack landed successfully, but when Forge tried to fallow up with second attack, the kobold quickly regained its balance and then launched it's left arm right at the Forge.

The claws blade penetrated Forge right arm, immobilizing it in the process.

(Shit!)

The kobold launched it second attack using it right arm, aiming at the Forge neck with it claws.

But before attack could land, Forge in last second used his horn to block the attack.

(For crying out loud! I think he have same or higher [Strength] stat than me!)

(Another candle just lighten up! I didn't want to use it so early one but-)

"[Horn Charge]!"

Forge used [Horn Charge] to overpower the boss monster for a moment and push it away, freeing him self in the process and removing the claws that pierced his arm.

Forge instantly open his inventory once more and took out several objects and threw them straight at kobold chieftain, he in the response slashed all of them and as soon as he did that, a sound of the glass shattering could be heard.

A green liquid that was inside of the threw object covered the kobold monster and making it scream in pain when some of it splashed onto his eyes.

(Forest spider poison. I had stored lot of it before they got nerfed, I was thinking of promoting the dipper with it when auction house would get released. I didn't get rid off them since they can still be used, they do deal less damage than before, but they still do some damage even if it's a low amount. I didn't bother farming it ever since the nerf happened and so I have about 4 more bottles of it on me.)

Forge began running towards the third kobold elder.

(Fighting him would take too long. I have to go for the elders first! Another candles just lighten up while I was fighting against.)

"Get back here you trash!" – shouted furious kobold chieftain.

"Will you just fuck off?!" – responded Forge.

(For fuck's sake, I can't took out my wings right now or he will end up attacking them. The wings are my weak spot and I take more damage when they are attacked. Brining out wings right now will give me small boost of speed, but that bastard is still faster than me even with my wings out and I don't know if I will be able to hid them in time when he get close to me.)

(On top of that I think I pissed him off with the poison. He looks mad like hell.)

Forge somehow manage to get near the third and killed it with his hammer, he then quickly turned around, thinking that the boss monster is near him, but what he saw instead of boss monster were the red flying slashes he saw before, coming straight at him.

"This shit again!"

This time Forge was prepared and manage to counter both attacks, suffering minimal damage.

(Wait, where is the boss?!) – though Forge after not being able to spot the boss monster.

Forge quickly looked up and saw the boss monster above him, flying right at him.

(Oh, fuck me. Got to block!)

The kobold fall right on the ground near the Forge, creating a massive shockwave. Forge tried blocking the attack, but that wasn't enough. The attack hit the Forge and sent him flying, making him hit one of the giant pillars, breaking some parts of it and then fallowing down with rumbles on the ground.

As the Forge and parts of the column fallen on the ground, a lot of dust ended up covering the entire area.

The kobold chieftain watched from afar, thinking that enemy got defeated, but then-

'Click'

"?" – The kobold chieftain wondering what was the weird noise was.

Kobold Chieftain took step towards the direction where Forge has fallen, but as soon as he did that, a giant crossbow bolt flew right past him, hitting the fourth elder kobold and piercing its body, before moment later hitting fifth elder destroying it body completely.

[You have recovered 5% of your HP and energies thanks to leveling up.]

"Ha…Hahahahah! You piece of mother fucker! You almost killed me!"

[Insectian Warrior – Rhino Beetle] skill.

[Might Of The Rhino Beetle]

[Skill level: 1/1] [Active] [Cost: 200 MP] [Cooldown: 2 hour.]

[You who is the proud warrior of the insectian shall show your enemy the might of the rhino beetle!]

[When active, increase over all attack power of the user by (25%) and increase [Physical Defense] and [Magic Defense] stats by (25%).]

[Also grants the user barrier that absorbs any damage, the barrier value is equal to the player (25%) max HP.]

[The skill lasts for 5 minutes.]

As soon as the last kobold elder body fallen on the ground, the crimson light begin acting violently before moments later disappearing into thin air and the candle holder that was floating in middle of it, fallen onto a ground, with all of its lights snuffing out.

"Now then, I think we can fight for real now." – said Forge.
